Good luck house hunting, Shadami!

I have never been a big fan of looking at houses. Then, I've pretty much lived in the same house my whole life. I'm moving soon, though, and we're downsizing to an apartment and it's soooo boring going around looking at apartments.

I feel you on that!

llonka 04-16-2016 08:43 PM

That is frustrating. Do need to look at everything and make sure everything is in working order and not broken.

Shadami 04-16-2016 08:47 PM

well i'm hoping that the one we saw today is actually the one. But it was such a fast walkthrough that I'm terrified of accepting it. Like maybe we missed soemthing. But i think it is going to be very workable.

wellt he people are still living in the house. But they're moving out of state because of work changing. so the family with three kids are moving out. . and they're three yippe part chiuhahas. The damn dogs made it impossible to look at the back yard except actually just looking. THe whole thing was so rushed.

I know we want to switch to a gas stove/oven at some point. and we will need to get a luandry machine unless we want to drop an extra 400 for theirs... which may not be bad. we're going to ask if we can come do another walk through to focus more on the appliances and the outlets.
We'll have to update to three prong outlets, alot of them were not grounded even though the box has been.

llonka 04-16-2016 08:48 PM

I don't blame you for wanting to make sure. I think we looked at our house twice, but after we bought it I wish I had shopped around more.

Shadami 04-16-2016 08:50 PM

we're just not going to be able to afford much else. and it is a REALLY good price for the size of it. And with so few fix ups needed compared to the other house we saw... and it has so much space. I really think this is it...

llonka 04-16-2016 09:03 PM

That's good!! How exciting!

So I thought I was done with my presentation for Monday, but I got to looking at the assignment sheet and have decided I need to change things. Ugh.

Shadami 04-16-2016 09:51 PM

uh oh :O well now you know so you can fix it. And you can do it! Yippe yay! *cheers you on*

llonka 04-17-2016 01:00 AM

Haha thanks Shadami!! I'm giving up for tonight... getting too tired.

Shadami 04-17-2016 03:17 PM

Sleep is necesary to revitalize stuff. or as I tell my kids, grow big and tall like daddy. xD cause they're currently obsessed with the idea of big.

Hope you slept well, and I'm sure you'll finish it today! ^^

llonka 04-17-2016 04:12 PM

I'm kinda discouraged because it's supposed to be ten minutes, but i have like four minutes worth last i checked.

Shadami 04-17-2016 04:34 PM

Oh is it a speech?

my 10 minute speech was a teaching thingy. We had to pick a topic to demonstrate something. Some people did origami, others showed how to pack clothes (which i actually use to this day) and I did a coloring thing. My way around the 10 minutes was i actually gave everyone crayons and paper and told them to bring out their inner kid and just draw. And than said little things every once in awhile. It was fun, and I was terrified out of my wits.

But if it IS a speech, you might be able to extend it a little by slowing down how fast you talk? I talk fast anyways.

You'll find the house that is meant for you. When my dad retired an we were looking at houses it took us awhile to find the right one. The one we have is perfect for us.

llonka 04-17-2016 05:31 PM

No not a speech. That's fun what you did though. I might have to stop and talk about my pictures on my powerpoint... I have to give an author presentation on Sherman Alexie. Pretty interesting guy!

Shadami 04-17-2016 07:57 PM

That's kinda like a speech though :D and its more interactive so you can definetly make enough time in it. I have faith in you!

Thanks Kirin. :] we're putting an offer in on this place. It's really close to things, and it is a fantastic starter home that we could survive in if we needed to expand cause a bigger family.

llonka 04-17-2016 08:58 PM

Haha I guess so! I just see it as teaching. [sweat] I finally got it to where I think it's decent. I need to start figuring out what i'm going to do for my creative project for that class. I have no idea what to do. I also have a philosophy paper to get started on... i'm sure it will take awhile.

Shadami 04-17-2016 09:12 PM

well what is the class?

llonka 04-19-2016 12:16 PM

Young Adult Literature. Have to re-interpret a book we read for the class. [sweat]

Shadami 04-19-2016 12:22 PM

with a creative project? Is that like creative writing? Or is it making a poster or something?

llonka 04-19-2016 12:26 PM

whatever we want to do. could draw a picture or make a movie trailer for the book. problem is i cant draw or know how to make a movie trailer. Someone suggested writing a poem about the main character from one of the books.

We are also allowed to rewrite a chapter in a different tone or from a different character's view point.

Ava The Vampire 04-19-2016 03:49 PM

That sounds like a creative class!
I would really like to do something that cool.

I remember in school once we had an assignment which was basically, "Do a report on ANYTHING YOU WANT!! IN ANY WAY YOU WANT!!!" So I made a movie about England. I was in elementary school, I found a vintage dress my mom had, I did an English accent and I read off a bunch of facts about England.

This was the days before editing tools were so versatile, so even though I never messed up on my English accent (I watched a LOT of Narnia, guys!) there was a part when a fly buzzed their my ear and I screamed and everyone laughed. [cry]

I think you could totally do a poem about the character, llonka. Or maybe you could build something from the book, like a replica of the setting? Or maybe make some clothes that the character was wearing?

Amane 04-19-2016 03:50 PM

Now there's a llonka I haven't seen in a while!

Shadami 04-19-2016 07:36 PM

buzzing insects are no joke. They should understand that. Or maybe its just me being petrified by anything that flies. Oh and welcome back Amane. completey forgot to say it in your thread :3 oops.

But ava that is an awesome project. i can't do accents. I fail completely. and i'm to scared to try them where people can hear. But i can do a decent.. scottish.. maybe? accent when i'm alone.

What about a movie poster in one of those simplistic styles. Like where its only a couple colors. ?

llonka 04-21-2016 04:23 PM

Oooh good ideas!! I like the movie poster one... hmm. writing a poem is kind of scary to me though an excellent idea.

Hey Amane!

So I got enrolled yesterday. [sweat] I'm enrolled in 15 hours. [gonk] I may drop one class, it starts at 3:00pm and doesn't get over until about 6:00.... kinda scary to me because i don't like driving in the dark and it could snow!

Shadami 04-22-2016 12:17 AM

if its a summer class (nd the next few montsh actually are summer for you) 6 pm would be daylight. wouldn't it?

Amane 04-22-2016 01:38 PM

The sun never goes down in the warm months, man.
