Last fall I got chased by two bees on my way to class. I ran into the nearest building and went out the front doors and had to walk that stretch again. And that's why I don't go outside.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 05:47 PM

Awww, poor Amane.

Amane 01-14-2014 05:48 PM

Seriously. I don't get chased by bees often, but when I do, there's a lot of screaming.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 05:52 PM

Hahaha. Wow. I've learned to just try to be really calm around bees. I haven't been stung since I was very young, but there is sort of a primal fear of them that you have to kind of fight.

Amane 01-14-2014 05:54 PM

A primal fear that I cannot fight for the world… [sweat] I'm a scaredy cat.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 05:58 PM

Haha, no worries. My mom is allergic to bees, so my sister and I had to kind of learn how to take care of them.

Imagination 01-14-2014 06:00 PM

I don't mind bee's, wasps/hornets on the other hand...yeah eff those guys. [t2h]

Amane 01-14-2014 06:01 PM

That's how my mom is, Imagi. XD She also talks about yellow jackets, whatever those count as. She said once while she was in Tennessee she got one in her hair and was like, "NOPE."

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:04 PM

Yeah, once I discovered the existence of the Asian Giant Hornet, normal wasps don't scare me as much.
Seriously, these things are terrifying:

Amane 01-14-2014 06:06 PM

HOW ABOUT NOPE.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:08 PM

Exactly. They call them yak-killers. And I'm like, suddenly, I never want to go to Asia.

Amane 01-14-2014 06:10 PM

Greenland sounds like a very safe place.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:12 PM

Haha, I'm with you!

Amane 01-14-2014 06:18 PM

I'm glad I wasn't born somewhere where it's hot all year. Then I'd have to move!

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:24 PM

Yeah. I mean, in Texas it doesn't get super cold in the winter, but in my area we do at least have a very definite winter.

Amane 01-14-2014 06:29 PM

Our winters are wild cards, but it at least definitely gets cold at some point.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:35 PM

Also, I have a bacteria that I can put into standing water that murders mosquito babies. It's one of my favorite possessions.

Amane 01-14-2014 06:42 PM

How does one acquire such a wonderful thing?

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 06:53 PM

I found it in a feed store, actually. They use it a lot for animal troughs, so they're not spreading diseases to their own animals via mosquitoes. It's awesome stuff.

Amane 01-14-2014 06:57 PM

I wish I had something like that for every bug!

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 07:02 PM

Haha, well, if we killed all the bugs, we would murder the ecosystem.

Amane 01-14-2014 07:03 PM

Yes, but we certainly wouldn't murder the ecosystem of my house.

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 07:08 PM

Haha, yeah. We let the spiders stay in the house, in order to keep out any other buggies.

Amane 01-14-2014 07:09 PM

Reminds me of what my dad said about ladybugs eating other bugs. Gross! [gonk]

steelmagghia 01-14-2014 07:24 PM

Hah, yep. Ladybugs are assassins. They loooove aphids. They're super efficient too. Haha.

Alrighty, time for me to go to the bank. Talk to you later!
