I agree totally that it's much easier to have a combined one.
Last year, my poor daughter had Thanksgiving dinner with us, at her Dads and then they went out to dinner with her boyfriends parents. She was totally overwhelmed.
So having all of us at her place this year, was much better.

"Vortex of Doom: A Pixel Shoppe" has an interesting ring to it.

It went great.
It was the first time I had actually met her boyfriends parents and we got along great. My daughters dad gets along with my husband, so no problem there.
the guys watched football while us girls were in the kitchen.
