lololol. I kind of regret getting my first in place where I don't see it,
but my next two are going to be on the back of my arms. [gonk]

Antagonist 05-15-2013 04:28 PM

Where's your first one? :o

Wrenji-chan 05-15-2013 04:30 PM

Wren is doing a lot of research. A lot. That is why Wren is asking a lot of friends who have tattoos.

Part of this is in defiance to my father who hates the idea of me getting a tattoo. Everytime I bring up the fact I want to get on he sighes angrily and goes off on a tyraid about how terrible they'll look when I'm older and how unprofessional they are and how I'll have to explain to my grandchildren about my poor life choices.

Which is one of the driving factors into me getting a tattoo. Because it's something I want to do. It's not something that is being forced upon me. It's a choice that I have made as an adult. I want to prove that I am capable of being an adult in his eyes. Even though to him I'll always be five years old.

Antagonist 05-15-2013 04:32 PM

Haha, my parents would just give me disapproving looks and nag me about how I'd regret it later because it's permanent and people's interests and choices change over time, how it'll make me look like a gangster and I'll never be able to get a respectable job with one, etc. etc...
Though the latter one is a valid reason, I suppose. I'm not sure if I've mentioned about how a guy was fired from his job because he got a tattoo on his arm that says 'Happy' that he got in memory of a friend who died?

ClockReject 05-15-2013 04:33 PM

Nisty; it's the one on the back of my shoulder~
Wren; ah, that really sucks, I don't understand people like that at all /sigh.
but make sure you do it for you, and no other reason.

Wrenji-chan 05-15-2013 04:35 PM

Technically, in America, I believe you can't get fired for having a tattoo. It's descrimination. Which, in the business world, is unethical.

ClockReject 05-15-2013 04:37 PM

I don't think you can get fired for that in Canada either.
but people can not hire you because of your tattoos.

Wrenji-chan 05-15-2013 05:14 PM

That is true. You can not be hired for having tattoos, but you can't be fired for having them.

spunky 05-15-2013 05:51 PM

our co-workers have tattoos but they cover them with long sleeves or jackets.

Antagonist 05-16-2013 12:03 AM

Wish we had your laws. :|
There was a law about age discrimination too I think, but it's not really enforced so you see ads with, "30 or below" all the time.
Gender discrimination is pretty bad too, like pregnant women often getting fired with an excuse like "not concentrated, procrastinating" and stuff so the company wouldn't have to give them paid leave. It's illegal, and many companies have been fined for doing it before, but people still do it all the time.

Hey Kirin~

Veno 05-16-2013 01:37 AM

Dx it kills me how people think that if you have tattoos your a bad ass. XD

I too regret getting my first tattoo where I can't see it. But I'm getting 3 for my birthday. :D I'm SUPER DUPER excited. A rainbow tribal turtle on my right foot, my moms virgo symbol (she's getting a Scorpio for me <3), and then a rainbow 22 on my left wrist <3

Antagonist 05-16-2013 02:04 AM

Sadly people here are way too conservative when it comes to tattoos. [no] The stigma will probably take a while to go away. Not helping that almost nearly all gang members have them.

Veno 05-16-2013 02:08 AM

Ah yeah, I can understand that. ;o where do you live again? I know you've said but it's hard to remember with everyone on here. xD

I'm gay so I get plenty of discrimination and everything. Not really with a job, but people totally treat me different specially in the south >.<

Antagonist 05-16-2013 02:14 AM

Taiwan. ;D

Argh. Yeah. People here are rather conservative with the homosexual community here as well. I hate the media here sometimes, they're always doing pointless news and every time a crime happens that includes a homosexual they like to emphasize the 'gay' bit. Like, yeah, one or both or all of the people involved were homosexuals, but that's not the point of the entire goddamn news! >__>

^^ that's what I was thinking. That's very cool. My favorite thing about talking to people online. Find people from all over the globe.

Yeah I can understand that. I live in redneck Alabama. So like close minded southern people >.< it kills me. I mean I don't even care what they think, it just it's crazy how close minded people are and how much into everyone else's business they are. Lol I mean I would understand if every homosexual was making out in public or what have you. Lol but nah that's not the case. I'm not closeted that's for sure, but it's just my sexual preference, it's not the most important thing about me. Lol It's not like a straight girl would be like "hi my name is so-in-so and I like to have sex with blonde body builder males." XDDD So it's obviously not on my list of introductions. But if I get asked, sure yeah I'm gay. LOL

Antagonist 05-16-2013 02:40 AM

Yeah, it's interesting how you can meet so many people from different parts of the world, all connected thanks to the Internet. ^__^

lmfao Hahaha, I would be so creeped out if a girl went up to me and introduced herself like that! X'D

Veno 05-16-2013 02:53 AM

xD I know right! Lol I love the fact we can all talk online. <3 It's amazing how far everything has come.

Though sometimes I wish electronics weren't EVERYWHERE in life. It seemed like time didnt' go by so fast back then.

Antagonist 05-16-2013 02:55 AM

True, and you get all sorts of technology-related sickness nowadays. Like people with sore necks and shoulders from using too much computer/iPhones/laptops/iPads/etc, bad eyesight, sore fingers and wrist joints, dry eyes, higher chance of obesity (from not moving enough), etc. etc...[sweat]

Veno 05-16-2013 02:59 AM

xD haha you ain't kidding. It's crazy as all get out. Lol

I try not to rely on it too much.

Antagonist 05-16-2013 03:01 AM

I can live without it, but I prefer to be hooked on it. xD;; Like I am right now...

Veno 05-16-2013 03:04 AM

xD I love being outside and there are plenty of days I don't even turn on my computer/tv/or go near my phone. xD just relax and read.

Antagonist 05-16-2013 03:06 AM

I try to be online at least for an hour every day, but as it is, I tend to spend like 12 hours or more on it every day. [XD];;

Veno 05-16-2013 03:07 AM

xD that's hilarious. I've been on ALOT more lately ever since I got fired. Mainly because I've been putting in apps, checking my e-mails for job offers and ya know, playing Mene when I'm not doing that.
:P Plus I'm addicted to Tumblr.
