"Still, I'm thoroughly impressed," Lavender replied, grinning. "Do either of you mind if I sit and watch? Maybe I might pick up a few things."
"Alright," Bruce agreed.
"Pick a seat, any seat." Not that there were a ton of seats, but there was the couch. Tony settled in to focus his attention on Bruce again. |
Lavender rolled her eyes and waved her wand, conjuring a chair to sit on. It wasn't elaborate, but it was comfortable enough, and she sat down to watch.
Tony and Bruce got back to work, almost as seamless as if Lavender wasn't there at all. Because they could adapt very quickly.
"Good," Bruce said when Tony finally mastered the spell. "Now don't practice on Pepper and move her things around when she's not there." |
Lavender snickered a bit, but didn't comment. She'd observed Tony enough to know that he might try, until he got a lecture from Pepper.
Bruce just rolled his eyes when Tony grumbled and he got up, stretching a bit before rolling his shoulders.
"I think I'm going to make some tea," he said, glancing at Tony, who just waved him off. |
"Tea sounds like a wonderful idea," Lavender said. "You mind if I tag along? I brought along my favorite blend, if you'd like some."
Bruce nodded, though he picked up his own mug and tea tin anyway. "There should still be water in the kettle."
Lavender nodded and checked the kettle.
"Do you prefer the water heated manually, or is magic okay?" she asked as she added a bit more water. |
"Magic is fine," Bruce said with a little shrug. This late at night, he'd probably use magic too, just to save the time.
Lavender nodded and pulled out her wand, heating up the water. Once it was boiling, she set the kettle on the stovetop and nodded to Bruce.
Bruce set down his mug and got some of his tea, pouring the water and setting the tea to steep. He knew how he liked his tea, after all.
Lavender pulled out her container of tea, put some into a mug, and poured hot water over it.
"What kind do you prefer?" she asked, looking at Bruce curiously. |
Bruce shrugged. "I have a few favorites. I've tried a lot. Greens are nice when I can get good-quality ones, chai is good, herbals and flavored teas are alright."
"Greens and herbals are good," Lavender agreed. "I have an Earl Grey I like, and a jasmine I like. I usually take chais in the winter."
Bruce nodded. "I have plenty of this, if you'd like to try next time," he said, tapping his tea tin.
"Maybe we could trade," Lavender suggested. "I have quite a few, myself."
Bruce smiled a bit. "Sounds like a good idea," he agreed. "I never mind trying a new tea."
"Sounds like a plan, then," Lavender said, grinning a little as she strained her tea and took a sip.
Bruce gave his tea another half-minute before he took out the tea ball and took a sip. Just right.
Lavender could see the man relax at the first sip of tea.
"That must be some good stuff," she commented, grinning a bit. |
Bruce passed the tin over to her silently. It was one of his favorite relaxing teas, a green with a bit of extra added to it.
Lavender smelled the tea and sighed.
"Ooh that's good," she said, smiling a bit. She handed the tin back. |
Bruce smiled a bit. "I keep a tea cabinet, if you'd like to try," he said, gesturing to a cabinet tucked away in a corner.
"You sure?" Lavender asked. "I don't just want to take your tea from you."
