Kyra nodded and motioned for Runa to lead the way so they could get what they needed.
Once they had the shovels, Kyra made sure she had lighter fluid and a lighter, and then she headed off into the woods. |
Runa had a shovel and a container of salt as she followed Kyra into the woods. After about an hour of walking, they finally came upon what had to be the shack. The building was small and falling apart at the edges, and the roof looked like it had caved in a while back.
"I'm betting that's it," she said. |
"That's a safe bet." Kyra started walking around it until she found the remains of a window. "He said buried under the window. I guess we start digging here." With a huff, she put her stuff down and started digging.
|
Runa nodded and set her stuff down as well, although she did keep an eye on their surroundings. She knew ghosts sometimes got pissed if their remains were disturbed.
Fortunately for them, the grave was shallow, and they were able to find the set of bones fairly quickly. |
This particular ghost didn't seem to be paying much attention to his remains, so Kyra sprayed lighter fluid over the bones liberally, looking over at Runa as she flicked the lighter on.
"You want the honors or shall I?" |
Runa shook salt over the remains as well and then took a step back.
"Go ahead," she said. "Light 'em up." |
Kyra nodded and dropped the lighter into the pit, watching the bones go up in flames. She waited a few seconds to make sure nothing was going to even try to retaliate before she turned and headed back towards the car.
|
Runa watched as well, and then followed Kyra back to the car.
"Well, that's over," she said. "Ready to head back?" |
"Yeah, I think so. We can stop and get food somewhere on the way." Kyra stretched a bit as she opened the back seat, dumping her stuff in there. "You want to drive or you want me to drive?"
|
"I can drive for a while," Runa said. "No problem. Try to get some sleep on the way back."
|
"After I call Sam. Since he was so nice and didn't spam me with texts." Kyra rolled her eyes at Gabriel as she slid into the passenger seat, dialing Sam's number and waiting for him to pick up.
|
It rang on the other end about four times before it rolled to voicemail. Almost immediately, a text came from Gabriel.
Bit busy at the moment, sweets. |
Kyra blinked at that before she flushed a little and put her phone away again, shaking her head. She wasn't even going to bother to reply right then.
"I guess Dean and Cas aren't the only two that needed to get some things resolved," she said, her voice dry. |
"What's going on?" Runa asked, glancing over briefly as she drove.
|
"Sam asked me to call when we were headed back so I did. Got a text from Gabriel saying they're busy." She rolled her eyes.
|
Runa gave a startled snort.
"Really?" she asked. "Those boys don't do anything by halves, do they?" |
"Apparently not," Kyra said, her voice dry.
|
"Well, here, grab my phone, text Dean and tell him we're on our way back," Runa said. "At least make sure they have fair warning."
|
"Okay." Kyra texted Dean and then set the phone off to the side.
"So do we want to stop for food?" |
"God yes," Runa replied, grinning a bit. "I don't know about you, but I'm starving, and I could really go for a steak."
|
"Salad with chicken," Kyra said with a grin. "Let's see if we can find somewhere that looks good then."
|
Runa grinned and nodded.
A couple hours later they were back on the road again after dinner, heading back to the last place they'd seen the boys. No texts or calls had come in about changing location, so Runa felt confident that they could go back to the motel and still find them. |
Even once they got back to the hotel, a good little while later, Kyra didn't just head into either of the rooms. Instead she moved her stuff back to the Impala and then sat on the car, waiting for some sign that she wasn't going to interrupt things.
|
Runa moved her things back into the Impala as well, and then pulled out her phone to text Dean.
Knock knock |
Instead of replying, Dean opened the door and looked at the two. "You can come in," he said, rolling his eyes. "We're not doing anything."
Not that they hadn't, but they weren't currently. |
