"Aren't we?" Dean asked. Because he sure felt like it sometimes.
"No," Charlie replied. "You're doing as well as anyone in your position could. Better, even."
Dean let out a disbelieving snort at that but didn't retort. He couldn't think of a good enough retort right now, still stuck in the Charlie is actually God shock.
"Hey, if it helps any, I haven't actually changed," Charlie pointed out. "I'm still the same Charlie you met back then." She grinned.
"Except you're God and have been God this whole time and my head hurts." Dean actually put his head down in his hands. "Where did the other two get to anyway?"
"Outside, I'm guessing," Charlie replied. "Not far. Why?"
"They ran out right away," he said. "They must have known. How did they know when Cas didn't know?"
"It's been a very long time since Castiel and I have been in the same general place," Charlie admitted. "It could be he just didn't remember. But sometimes things get... strange, when it comes to people like them. They're capable of more than they should be."
"Yeah, we got that," Dean muttered. Because he had learned that very well by now.
"Don't take them lightly, Dean, they are dangerous," Charlie said. She paused for a moment. "Although I suppose there are much, much worse people you could have made friends with." She sighed when she saw that Dean was still freaking out. "Dean, breathe. I'm just Charlie. Forget everything else you learned today, alright? Just plain Charlie Bradbury, computer geek."
Dean gave Charlie a Look. Because yeah, no, that was never happening. "Just give us a bit," he grumbled. Because they were amazingly flexible once they had time to adapt.
Charlie nodded.
"Sure," she said. "Take your time. I'm going to go see about talking to your nephilim and cambion out there." She grinned a bit and headed out the door, letting the boys and angels sort themselves out. |
Kyra felt her approaching and shivered, accidentally shedding a few feathers as she shifted away from Charlie, because no.
Runa also backed away from Charlie, her eyes black and sulfur dust drifting gently to the ground.
"Hey, easy," Charlie said. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." |
"Yeah, sorry, this is just too freaky," Kyra said, though she did keep slightly in front of Runa, figuring she had slightly better chances. "You're God and we're not really supposed to exist."
Charlie shrugged.
"Like I told Dean, it's not my job anymore to interfere," she said. "And no matter what you think, you're not mistakes. Surprising results, maybe, but not mistakes." |
That made Kyra snort, though when she wasn't immediately smote she did start to relax some.
"Surprising results. That doesn't equate to being smote right?" |
"If it did, you'd be smote," Charlie pointed out. "I'm just around to observe, okay? Promise."
Kyra nodded slowly. Hey, she hadn't been smote yet, that was always a good sign. "Observing is fine," she said cautiously.
"That's all I planned to do," Charlie said. "And, honestly, if Gabriel's left you alone, I think you'll be okay. You know, all things considered."
"Yeah, didn't expect him to be the one leaving me alone," Kyra muttered. She shook herself a bit. "So you're really just here to, what? Entertain the guys?"
Charlie shrugged.
"I happened to be in the area, and the boys are friends of plain old Charlie Bradbury, so we agreed to meet up. They were actually going to introduce us, I think." Charlie looked at the girls. "Look, give them time, alright? All four of them. They need to sort themselves out a bit more before the six of you can really be comfortable together." |
Kyra looked at her hard for a few moments before she nodded slowly. "I think we all need some time to get a few more things settled," she agreed.
Charlie grinned.
"Speaking of, you missed Castiel finally starting to settle in his vessel," she said. |
"What, he threw feathers?" Kyra snorted. "I'm surprised it took him so long, he's done a lot with that vessel."
