I think your cat might be related to mine. Does he also think he is supposed to get fed every time you are in the kitchen and tries to 'explore' the fridge when you open it?

Sometimes he does, not all the time. But if you have milk, or whipped cream he will attack you for it. You have to share those with him

Sounds kinda like a cat we used to have. He was a sugarholic if it was sweet he wanted it. My mom once had to eat a doughnut by holding it in the air above her head cause he crawled onto her chest to get it.
