Unwanted Marriage (Castleofglass & K-kawaii)

Prince Brody Nuallan

Seventeen years of age

Personality.
He's the quiet type, only saying things when he feels necessary. Although when he is with a compainion he will talk more to make them feel comfortable. He's very kind, and rarely gets angry. Even though he doesn't let others know it he has social anxiety and doesn't like to be around big crowds of people.

Short biography.
As a child he was raised up to love his country and was taught many things to prepare him in becoming king. During his childhood he was very out going however when his mother died he, like anyone else, became depressed. After a while he realized that he still needed to do his best so he could be a good king for his country and he began to do better, however he became more reserved and quite.

Appearance

SPOILERX

After hearing that he and the princess of the opposing land would be part of the treaty and marry to ensure peace between the countries, Brody became angry. He could actually feel his blood boil as he looked over at his father beside him at the table that he and the opposing king and princess were sitting at. "Father, you're not being serious are you?" Brody said in a low voice with tones of anger.

His dark haired father looked over at him with out a word before looking over at the other king. "Of course I am being completely serious this is not a joking matter. Do you not want our countries to be at peace, Brody?" The king asked him with out even sparing the boy another look. Brody gawked at his father. He was being serious. So the whole reason for him even coming to this meeting was because he was part of the negotiation?

The boy looked over towards the princess then back at his father. There was no way he would be marrying her. He couldn't, she was the enemy. Before he could let his tongue slip he pursed his lips in a hard line then looked down at the table in front of him. "Please forgive me, father, your...highness...but please allow me to be excused for a moment." Brody spoke through clenched teeth as he stood from his seat slowly before exiting the extravagant room with out another word.

As he left he could hear his father apologizing to the other king across from him before he called a servant over to bring a quill and ink so the treaty that was written on the papers in the center of the table could be signed. Brody quickly made his way down the hallway before stopping when he reached the end. How could his father do that? Just sign him in as a part of the treaty? It was preposterous. Besides he wasn't to be married yet! He- he didn't even like that girl! He ran his fingers through his hair as he bit his tongue in anger before any words could slip out of his mouth. There had to be some other way they could settle this, anything else besides him having to marry that girl.

Princess Amelia Arlaine

16 years old

Personality: Amelia is most certainly a social butterfly type. She is most often seen with her friends and if it isn't that, playing with her array of exotic pets. Although she is very out-going, her popularity with her soon-to-be kingdom's subjects can get to her head sometimes, giving her a "world revolves around her" attitude. She isn't afraid to say what is on her mind but knows when to keep it quiet, but even so, she doesn't care of the people's reaction to her words.

Short Biography: Amelia was born with blue-blood, so she was raised to be prim and proper and to never speak a sound. But, after accidentally witnessing her mother cheat on her father with one of the butlers, she was forced into swearing not to tell. To keep her mind off of telling her father the truth, she ends up speaking her mind when talking to other people, but somehow manages to remain silent when talking to her soon-to-be subjects.

Amelia sat at the table in the Nuallan residency silently shaking her foot in frustration. Only weeks ago was she informed that her future was planned: she was going to marry the prince of the land just so they can have peace between the land she resided in and theirs. Honestly, why am I put up as an offering? she thought to herself, A war would have settled things quicker instead of sacrificing my own damn future. King and prince Nuallan were arguing to themselves while Amelia attempted to distract herself by clenching her fists. After all of the things and past history she was taught about the Nuallans, how could she afford to even tolerate the boy?

"Stop shaking your leg." Her father whispered softly, "Ladies do not do that over the table of a host's castle."

"Ladies shouldn't be sacrificed to a marriage just so two lands can be happy with one another." Amelia hissed back.

Her father smiled his gentle smile, "I know this sounds unreasonable to you, Amelia, but I promise you, it is for the best."

"For you, maybe." She growled. She looked up just in time to witness the boy excusing the king and quickly leaving the room. What's his problem? She thought again, Too scared to even say hello? she smirked to herself at that. A servant came in and handed King Nuallan a piece of parchment. The treaty. Her thoughts began to smoke in her mind and she began to shake her foot again. There wasn't anything she could do at this point. Not even throwing a tantrum could change their minds. Once both kings had signed, they mutually nodded and smiled at Amelia. It was done. Her future was set in stone. Her eyes grew wide with anxiety and her words became marbles in her mouth, unable for her to speak.

"I apologize, my son is a bit unhappy with this whole process." King Nuallan said, wiping beads of swear off his brow with a white handkerchief, "But he really is a wonderful boy. Charming and outgoing, when you get to know him. I'm sure you two will make a great pair." The other king smiled along with her father, who also began to glow with his smile. Sure, she thought again Maybe he should grow a pair instead.

It only took three minutes for Bordy to calm down. His mind was now thinking more clearly. The whole point of this negotiation was to bring their countries peace wasn't it? There wasn't too many other options besides war, and even though he'd never been in a time of war he knew it took a heavy toll on each country. And right now his country did not need war. He pursed his lips as he looked at himself in the glass window in front of him. He smoothed out his hair then sucked in a breath before walking down the hall way to return to the room he'd so rudely left.

Although he was calm before he entered the room when his eyes fell on King and princess Arlaine anger began to bubble up again but it slowly faded as he briskly walked across the room and put an apologetic smile on his face. "I apologize for being so rude your highness, father..., princess." His voice lowered when he refered to the princess. His eyes shifted to the girls father and he gave him a small bow to apologize to the man. When he was done his father spoke again making the blonde's smile falter slightly.

"Now, since were all here we have agreed that their wedding be two days from now around mid noon correct?" King Nuallan asked the King across from him who nodded in agreement.

"That's correct. We will be making preparations as soon as I return. I trust you will be doing the same?"

"Of course." King Nuallan said with a smile that nearly made Brody grimace. His father seemed to be taking this so well, did it not bother him one bit that he was letting his son be married to the enemies daughter? Brody wondered but then scolded himself. He was doing this for his country, to avoid war. It couldn't be helped. "Brody." King Nuallan said making the boy looked over at his father with curious eyes. "Please escort King Arlaine and Princess Amelia out please I have a lot to take care of in two days." The king spoke with a smile before turning to King Arlaine. "If you both will excuse me." He said as he stood from his chair and bowed to the King and his daughter before leaving with servants at his side. Since he was running the country by himself it was best to begin preparations now so they would not be behind.

Brody watched his father leave the room before turning to King Arlaine and his daughter. "Your Highness, Princess, if you two would follow me." He said as he waited to escort the two out. Even though he knew his father had a lot of work to do he could've sent him off to begin preparations instead of leaving him with his soon to be father in law and ....wife. A shiver went down the boy's spine as he thought of the word wife. He remained silent as he lead the two out of the room. He wasn't sure what to say to the both of them, but then again he really didn't want to say anything to them at all.

Castleofglass 07-09-2013 11:08 PM

Not moments later did Brody come back into the hall in which they were all seated. Even though his face showed it, he didn't seem calm at all, even that could be seen from several feet across the room from where she was standing. The prince apologized and addressed her in a very obvious, yet subtle negative manner. She rolled her eyes in response and pushed her bangs from her eyes, as if she were discarding his attitude.

The two kings began to converse and the only words that had stuck to her was the date of the wedding. Two days?! She began to scream inside, How am I even supposed to prepare for my own wedding in two whole days?! Even if she hated it, she might as well look extravagant for her wedding. Maybe someone will see her and stop the wedding so she can marry them instead. Anyone could be a lot better than marrying him.

The boy was being assigned to escort her and her father out. During the walk, Amelia decided to take a better look at Brody. He was mildly attractive, which was better than the pig-faced lords that her parents tried to set her up with before all of this. He didn't exactly walk with confidence though. She didn't blame him; she would have acted exactly the same if she had to escort him out. They had reached the exit in less than two minutes, two large, arched doors was her salvation. Freedom.

"It was wonderful meeting with you and your father again, Brody." Amelia's father nodded and smiled. "We look forward to the wedding with pleasure." He looked to Amelia and softly nudged her. She looked up to him, but there was no changing his ways. She huffed and gave him her manners. "Nice meeting you." She spoke monotony and gave a half-ass curtesy topped with an obvious fake smile. Her father was relentless about her manners anywhere, even in his house.

Brody pushed the door open and light flooded in. Their horses, Stars and Jumper were outside waiting for them. Amelia tried not to look like she wanted to escape but she couldn't help hastily shuffling to Stars and nuzzling her soft, black nose. She giggled after Stars gave her a soft snort and began to climb up into her saddle. Her father took a longer time to get onto Jumper, and she was about to get frustrated with him about that. Once they were both on, they waved goodbye to Brody and the extravagant castle, kicked their horses and cantered off to home.

Thankfully, home was only ten minutes away and they got their in no time. Amelia shook her head around to get the dust out of her hair and jumped down from Stars. She kissed the paint on the cheek and led her to the stable boy who would lead her back to her stable. Amelia and her father strode back into their castle, arm-in-arm, enjoying the beautiful day.

"Now that wasn't so bad was it?" Her father chuckled, ruffling her hair.

"You're not the one getting married." She replied bitterly, fixing her hair quickly, "Why is the wedding in two days?"

"Well King Nuallan and I, we figured that we wanted peace as soon as possible. Months later would be too late and we cannot have the wedding on Sunday, seeing as everyone would be busy. So we decided Saturday was the best choice." She pouted and began to stare at her moving feet. She hated all of this, just all of it. "Oh don't look discouraged, young lady." Her father pinched her cheeks, "You have your gown that you picked out yourself, and the venue of course. You can leave the ceremony and entertainment all up to your old man." He winked at her, hinting at some sort of extravagant event for Saturday.

"I trust you, I guess." Even with the venue and dress, she still hated the idea of it. What good is picking out a dress to go and marry someone you didn't choose? Amelia began to feel sick. It was just something she didnt want to deal with right now or ever.

After coming in to her castle and greeting her mother and the lords she climbed up to her room, wishing to never have to come out again. Jinx, her baby spotted cheetah poked her head out from her crib, padded up to her and began to nuzzle out Amelia's bad temper. She was a present for Amelia's birthday from an exotic animal tamer and she loved her more every day. She picked Jinx up and began to cuddle the animal on her bed.

"Jinx, I wish you were bigger already." Amelia spoke to the kitten, "Maybe you could have terrified the boy out of marrying me." She giggled to herself and began to fall asleep with the animal. Maybe if I sleep long enough I can sleep right through all of this.

"It was wonderful meeting with you too, your highness." He said bowing to the man before rising to his full height. It took Brody by surprise that the girl had curtsied to him, only because he'd not seen her father nudge her to do so. "Nice meeting you as well." Of course he bowed to her, but not as deeply as he had toward her father. After they were out of the castle he waited until they were heading off before giving them a sift wave good bye. Silently Brody closed the castle doors behind him and let out a deep sigh.

At least she was pretty. He concluded before deciding to put the whole matter behind him. He would worry about it later but right now he had things to tend to. Suddenly, before he could reach the library, two of their servants whisked him away. "What do you want me for?" He asked them as the ushered him down the hall way with excited smiles.

"To fit you of course." The older man said. "Your wedding is in two days, we need to make sure your attire fits you Prince Brody."

Oh great. Brody sighed seeing as things could not be helped. Why his father had waited to tell him that he was getting married at the negotiation he had no idea why but he wished he would've so he wouldn't have to deal with any of this right now. He thought he was going to be able to push it to the back of his mind but apparently not.

He sighed as he slipped on his attire for the wedding. It was pretty standard, a white shirt, black pants, jacket, shoes, and scarf. Although it seemed to feel a bit big on him. "It's your fathers." One of the servants said as they began to tuck in the fabric in places. "He was a little bigger than you when he was your age. It seems your get your body frame from the queen."

The queen, yes his mother. Brody looked at himself in the mirror as a twinge of sadness filled his chest. He wondered what his mother would say about all of this. She would probably tell him it's for the best, and that everything will be fine. He sighed then turned his mind on auto pilot while the servants continued to fit his clothes to his frame.

When they were done with him Brody made a quick escape to the library where different worlds were awaiting him. He locked the library doors after he made sure he was the only one in there at the moment before going to his usual spot to read. Silently he picked up a book that he'd been reading and opened it to the marked page.

Before he realized it the day of his wedding was there and there was nothing but knots in his stomach. He was once again looking at himself in the mirror as the servants put the finishing touches on his attire before they went to his hair. Luckily his hair only took two minutes. They hand simply slicked his bangs over to the side in a neat fashion before checking him over.

"If you'll follow us Prince Brody." The two servants said as they lead him out the door.

She gotten woken up harshly early one morning by one of her usual butlers. "It's time to wake, princess." A deep voice whispered into her ear. Amelia woke up quickly after hearing the voice. It was the butler mother cheated on father with. His voice always startled her because it reminded her of the secret she had to keep. The butler curled his lips up into a sweet smile. "Do you know what the day is, your highness?"

"Does it matter?" She grumbled, pulling the covers over her face, hoping that would make him go away.

"Why, it's the day of your wedding, Amelia!"

Her eyes almost shot out of her sockets. She had completely forgotten all about it until this morning. Springing out of bed in an array of colorful vocabulary, she jumped into her closet and shouted for the butler to go away and send in the maids. Why she was so anxious is something she could never explain. Weddings make people a variety of emotions, especially if one is the bride. She managed to find her dress, thrown on the floor due to her being frustrated during the time that the news of her marriage was given. She would have ripped it too, but father wouldn't have liked that.

Everything seemed to go by in a blur: her bed was made, her gown was ironed and cleaned, and Amelia was seated in a chair near her vanity whilst 7 different servants tended to her face, nails, and hair. The common folk had gathered around in the castle's court yard, demanding questions to be answered and their cheers to be heard. Amelia could have fainted from all of the noise, but she learned how to control all of that; a few deep breaths and it shall pass.

"Oh, my lady, that shade of blue looks beautiful on you!" One of her maids exclaimed. Amelia nodded a thanks and was hastily pushed into her closet to put on her dress.

Her whole family waited anxiously for her to come out so they could look at her in awe. Amelia stepped out, pulling on her dress here and there so that it was smooth. Gasps from all could be heard all around the room. The body of the dress fit her tightly to accentuate her figure and the rest of the way down was an array of silk waves and pearls. The train came back just two feet behind her in a clear fabric, like the ocean on the sand.

"Oh honey, you are so beautiful!" Her mother ran up to her and hugged her with slow tears streaming down her face. Her whole family came up to give a group hug and tear up with joy. Even Amelia cried, but it was not from joy.

"Now, now, we must not waste our tears now." Amelia's father interrupted the moment, "We still have a wedding to attend! Amelia, you will take the carriage with your mother and me. The rest can use the coaches provided. We ope you enjoy the ceremony!" As quick as that, everyone began to run down the stairs into their vehicles to the venue. Amelia was the last to go into her carriage. She wanted to reminisce in her last steps of freedom.

k-kawaii 07-10-2013 01:36 AM

After minutes of searching, Brody finally found his father who was getting ready to leave the castle. Why they couldn't just have a small wedding at either of their castles Brody did not know. Instead they had to have it in the city where everyone could see. "Finally I found you Brody, are you ready?" His father asked him as they were ushered out the door. They were running a minute or two later than planned so they practically had to run to their carriage. Brody looked away from his father and held back what he really wanted to say. "I suppose." He gave as an answer before growing quite.

The ride to the venue was short and the city was bustling, waiting to see the prince and his soon to be bride. "You're looking great son. I see they had to take up the fabric in some places." His father chatted nonchalantly as he looked over his son who was looking rather nervous. "Brody." The king said suddenly making the teen look over at him.

Brody stared at his father with questioning eyes before speaking. "Yes?" He asked when his father didn't answer him after a moment.

"I want you to know that I am proud of you and that you're going through with this even though you don't want to. And I'm sure our people will also be very grateful to you for going through with this peaceful solution instead of choosing to go to war." The king spoke with a low tone of voice that was laced with sincerity as he spoke with Brody.

Brody looked over at his father and was about to reply to him when the carriage stopped they were at the court house. It's usually where most marriages took place, mainly because it was the most beautiful building in the city. The blonde suddenly felt sick as the carriage drive helped him and his father out. People were everywhere, making Brody even more sick to his stomach. He was so ready for this day to just be over with.

Quickly he and his father made their way into the court house. It was decorated finely but a bit to gaudy for Brody's tastes. Not that how the court house looked mattered to him. It wasn't like he really was into the whole wedding thing any way. He looked up as he neared the podium where a priest was standing instead of a judge. The priest smiled at Brody and his father then instructed Brody where to stand before instructing the king to stand over behind Brody. When the two were positioned Brody's side of the family began to trickle in and that's when his heart began to beat painfully in his chest. He really wasn't ready for this.

Suddenly a firm hand was on his shoulder. It was his father from behind him. "It'll be alright Brody, just take a deep breath." His father said. Obviously Brody had been more nervous than he thought he was because his father noticed. Brody then followed his father's instructions and he took a deep breath. Even though it calmed his heart and his nerves, it didn't make the horrible pit in his stomach go away. I wonder how...she's feeling. Brody suddenly thought out of the blue as he looked back at the doors where every one was trickling in to take their seats.

Castleofglass 07-10-2013 01:58 AM

The carriage was filled with Amelia's parents' chatter. She didnt have the stomach to talk and her parents seemed to understand. All their conversation consisted of was how happy this marriage would be and how great things would come out of it. Great things, hah. As quickly as they entered the carriage they exited into their venue, the beautifully decorated court house, where everything was made legal and justice was present.

Amelia's parents helped her get out of the carriage; her heels and her anxiety not being able to allow her to function. When she came to her sense, she strutted up into the court house to quickly run and do her finishing touches. Before she could get in, swarms of common folk and lords crowded around her to congratulate her and give her compliments. She could not attend to them all at once out of the moment so she smiled and thanked everyone hastily before running into the building.

More lords and common folk began to greet her as she began to run to the dressing room that was assigned to her. Out of breath, she managed to get their without tripping and ruining her dress. I guess I can be grateful for that she chuckled to herself as she went into the room and locked it so no one could enter. A mirror was placed right in her field of vision. Looking closer, Amelia could see that her tears had began to ruin the make up on her face. She hadn't even noticed that she had cried during the whole bustle and excitement. After noticing, she began to cry some more. Why? She screamed internally, Why me? Why do I have to do this? I don't want this. I want my future back. Why?

Her crying became loud sobs, loud enough for her father to hear. She heard a soft knocking on the door and a muffled "Amelia? Are you alright?"

Amelia opened the door and fell into her fathers arms, crying into his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around and consoled her for as long as ten minutes. He whispered soothingly that everything would be alright and that it really was for the best. After slowly clearing away the stains from her cheeks, Amelia began to calm down and prepare herself for what was about to come. Her father looked at her questioningly and she nodded, a silent "Im ready."

He took her hand gently and led her to where the ceremony would be, the main court room. Behind closed doors she could hear everyone talking excitedly. Suddenly, it all died down when a beautiful, yet powerful organ began to play wedding music. Amelia looked at her father and he looked at her. Fear and hope danced around in their gazes as they stood before the great doors.

"Are you ready?" He whispered softly. She nodded, almost hesitantly. He nodded and smiled back at her, pushing the great doors open to reveal the life-changing ceremony that would occur only seconds from now.

k-kawaii 07-10-2013 02:27 AM

When the organ sounded Brody flinched slightly and he dared look up from the wooden floor. At the moment he looked up he saw the doors open. First he seen Amelia's father and then as the doors opened farther he seen Amelia. No, Brody had no other feeling for her than disdain but at that moment he did find her rather stunning. But for some reason Brody could've swore it looked like she'd been crying. Well at least he wasn't the only one that felt horrible. He sighed then stood up as straight as he could as her father walked her down the short isle that led to the podium.

Of course Brody reached out to take the girl's hand as her father passed her on to him. "Take care of her." Her father said in a hushed tone to him. Suddenly Brody had the feeling that he'd better take care of this man's daughter, or else. "Yes, your highness." He replied back quickly as he helped Amelia up the step that was there before turning to the priest when they were ready.

Even though Brody so badly wanted to let go of the girl's hand he had to hold it, it was one of this things they were going to have to do during the ceremony. When it was time for the rings, Brody slipped Amelia's on her finger quickly and when he did the knots in his stomach tightened. I have to do this...so there will not be war. Brody told himself as he looked down at the girl in front of him. When they had the rings on their fingers a few more words were said and then the five words that Brody forgot had to be said slipped out of the priest's mouth. "You may kiss the bride."

Suddenly Brody tensed and he stared at the girl wide eyed. There was silence and then Brody found himself hesitantly leaning down towards the girl. He'd never kissed a girl, so it was odd. As his lips were inches away from hers he leaned in ever so slightly and let his lips ever so slightly brush against hers before pulling away. To every one else it might have looked like they had done a peck on the lips which he was sure was confusing to them but he didn't care. Not that he didn't find the girl attractive, it was just that he was uncomfortable with kissing her...and people watching them kiss.

Now that the ceremony was over and it was time for them to walk out, Brody lead Amelia down the isle with his hand in hers. He was careful to not haste her too much, he had caught a glimpse of the heels she was wearing and they didn't look easy to walk in. He was too nice of a guy. Brody sighed and when they reached outside he was going to let go of the princess' hand they were met with common fold and the lords of other lands. Of course, to keep appearances Brody kept a hold of her hand and was ushered with her to a carriage that was waiting for them out side.

Once they were in the carriage Brody moved to sit across from the princess. Now they were out of the sights of the public his eyes remained anywhere but on her. Even though he knew he was doing a great thing for his country he was still unhappy about being married to her. He just hoped that they could get along...Yeah, right. He doubted that. How could he ever get along with the enemy.

Castleofglass 07-10-2013 02:58 AM

The ceremony to Amelia seemed all but a faded memory if you asked her about it years from now. All she remembered was trying her hardest not to throw her shoes at him and run away as fast as she could. She was surprised that she could hold in something like that. After she heard the priest declare them officially husband and wife and that he may now kiss her, she woke up from her trance. He was going to kiss her. But how? Would he show off to the crowd and make it a big, sloppy French kiss or a heartless peck. Thankfully it was a mix of the two. The boy lightly pressed his lips to hers for less than a second, making it seem like a loving peck. And then her senses exploded.

She knew that the wedding kiss was supposed to be explosive but she didnt think it would happen in this one. When his lips were on hers, even for that brief moment, she felt awakened. It was as if fire works came off in her whole body and doves were released from their cage in her stomach. She felt awake and alive.

Eh, that's how you feel when any boy kisses you. Even that horse-faced stable boy who kissed you when you were a little girl gave you that same effect. Just as quick as it came, the sensation wore off. She blinked several times before realizing that Brody had taken her hand, obviously for show. She felt relieved because she did not feel the same way when he had kissed her. Looks like she didnt actually like him that much at all. She sighed and allowed him to lead her out.

They began to walk out of the court room and to the outside world. Ow, ow, ow, dammnit, ow. Every time she took another step the heels of her feet shot pain up and down her ankles. Sometimes she wished that looking good did not equate to so much pain. Even holding his hand, Amelia could feel Brody being nervous. They walked out in silence, ready to receive the attention of the common folk.

Their carriage stood their waiting with the most beautiful white stallions; the tradition of the land after a marriage. They stepped in and the couple immediately sat across from each other. Only a few seconds in did she realize that he was not holding her hand anymore. Even though she despised the boy, she had to admit that she felt a longing for that physical connection again. It's not that she wished anything to happen (but she accepted that something would have to happen), but she craved that unspoken intimacy between the two, even if it was just mere hand holding or millisecond kisses.

She kept her eyes focused on the scenery in hopes that Brody would forget she was there and not attempt to make conversation. The realization that she was now officially married had slowly began to sink in. I am married, she thought to herself, I am married. I am married and my husband is sitting right across from me. I'm married. She began to shake her leg again quietly, hoping that they would get to the reception as quickly as possible.

The carriage had finally pulled up to the reception house; the town hall. It was luxuriously decorated for the event and people began to file in like ants. The carriage's driver opened up the right door to let the couple out. She finally looked at the boy across from him, her husband. There isn't any turning back now. She gave him a sincere smile and slowly put out her hand, hoping he would take it again, just for that small spark of connection.

k-kawaii 07-10-2013 03:31 AM

As they made their way to the place of the reception Brody hadn't even gave the girl a glance. He didn't want to. Even more so he couldn't. He felt that if he did that he might loose it. Keep it together. She's probably feeling the same way you are. So why don't you follow her lead and keep it together for the sake of your people? Of course pep talking himself was the only way he could possibly keep it together. He hoped he could get used to this soon because if not there was going to be a problem. When the carriage came to a halt he looked at the scurrying crowd outside then over to the carriage door when it was open.

Brody looked over toward the girl across from him and watched as she gave him a sincere smile. Or what looked like a sincere smile. He couldn't tell. When she held out her hand he was a little shocked. Did she not detest him as much as he did her? Apparently not. Then again she was probably just better at hiding things than he was. Brody's eyes shyly fleeted from hers and he took her hand. Compared to his large had her hand was small, and delicate. Carefully Brody got out of the carriage and then helped Amelia out. He wondered how it was even possible for her to move in such a dress, then again considering she was a princess she was probably used to it.

His hand wrapped around his firmly but not too tightly so he wouldn't hurt her. He gave smiles to the common folk that had came to gather around town hall that was currently being used as the reception house. As the court house was, the town hall was decorated elaborately but still gaudy for Brody's tastes. Carefully he lead Amelia into the town hall, being patient with her since she was in heels. When they were inside they were welcomed with a semi filled building while guests began to file in behind them. It seemed their parents had yet to arrive. He sighed then took Amelia over to the table where he guessed they would be sitting at with their parents.

It seemed like this was going to be a long day. Brody pulled out the chair for Amelia and then let go of her hand as she sat down. As soon as he let go of her hand he felt a little odd. For some reason he found himself feeling like he'd just stepped out of his comfort zone when only a few seconds ago everything felt natural. He frowned slightly at this as he sat then took in a breath and watched as his father and Amelia's father and mother as well walked into the room along with a few other guests. It was going to be a long day indeed.

"What's with that look Brody, you just married a beautiful woman smile a little son." His father said in a teasing manner to Brody when he'd arrived at the table to sit down with them. As if he was trained Brody's lips curved into a smile.

"My apologies, I guess it's just all of the commotion that's making me uneasy." That was partly true. Brody didn't really like crowds of people, they always unsettled him and made him anxious.

"You'll get used to it after a while. Your mother was the same way when she was younger you know." King Nuallan said with a smile before looking over towards Amelia. "How are you Princess? I do hope Brody is treating you kindly."

Castleofglass 07-10-2013 06:55 PM

Amelia was surprised that the boy took her hand that she held out, though he would not make eye contact. Still as shy as before, I see. she thought to herself as Brody helped her out of the carriage, paying careful attention to not ruining her dress. When the couple got out, people of all class came up to them and greeted them and sending their congratulations. She was trained for this. Amelia shot her warm smile from person to person and bowing her head in thanks.

Brody led her into the hall and to the table that he, she and their parents would be sitting. Being that her walking was almost halved because of the uncomfortable heels, she felt like a quiet puppy being lead by her master. Brody let go of her hand to pull back her chair so that she could sit. She nodded him a thank you and sat gracefully into the chair. The boy at least was raised to have good manners. She thought to herself as she saw the parents arrive at the table. The boy's father began to tease his son about the expression on his face, which Brody quickly cleaned up in a second. She gave a little smile to her father-in-law when he called her beautiful. Not that that compliment was out of the ordinary for her. She looked up at the tall man when he addressed her.

"Oh he is wonderful." She said almost automatically. She had to say something to please his father. "He really is charming, just like you said." She smiled and pretended to fix her dress, hoping that he wouldn't ask anything else.

Amelia's mother trotted up to her in heels higher than her own and bathed her face in kisses. "Oh, darling, look at you! You already look like a woman now that you've been newly wed." Amelia smiled back in thanks and nodded to her smiling father. His cheeks looked like they had been red only moments ago; maybe from tearing up after seeing his only daughter get married.

Pretty soon the reception had begun and everyone began eating the luxury meals funded by the parents: the finest goose stuffed with the season's berries along with imported red wine. But that was only the main course. The preceding courses came to her in a flash that Amelia barely had enough time to take a bite out of anything. There was just simply so much food that had been served.

The parents had been conversing and laughing at each other, whilst the happy couple ate in silence, not sure what to do or say. Suddenly Amelia's mother broke their silence. "Amelia, I really am happy about this marriage." She flashed her bright white teeth when she smiled, "I especially am excited for the arrival of my grandchildren."

Amelia almost choked on one of the berries. She sat there wide-eyed and swallowed the berry, hoping that would help her understand what was going on. I have to...consummate the marriage. She gulped down her wine in hopes that it would hide her bright red cheeks. Dammit, I completely forgot about that. Oh my god I don't think I can do this. She tried to monitor her breathing, but her heart would not stop beating fast. Before her mother could await her reply a loud bell chimed and everyone slowly stopped their chatter. It was time for the first husband-wife dance.

"Well come one, girl, you know what that bell means!" Her mother sounded almost exactly like that bell, "There ain't no wedding without your first dance!" Before she could process was going on, Amelia felt herself standing up and being lead to the dance floor by her husband. Before she could remember what her dance teacher taught her, she felt his hands slowly and gently go in the designated places to lead her. She slowly placed her hands on his broad shoulders and only had one thought at that moment: Right foot, left foot, don't step on his feet. Right foot, left foot, don't step on his feet...

k-kawaii 07-10-2013 08:56 PM

Because everything was draining his energy, Brody was glad to have plates of food come in front of him. The food tasted a lot better than it usually did. Perhaps it was because he was hungry. Luckily he'd swallowed his bite of food when he'd heard Amelia's mothers words or else he would've also been choking on his food. That woman must be crazy. He hoped that she didn't just expect for them to move into something like having children so quickly. Not only that there was no way he...Brody pursed his lips. Would he have to do that with her? His eyes suddenly trailed over to her to see that it looked like she felt the same way he did.

When the bell chimed he knew what that meant and as it did he heard his father begin to comment on the previous subject of children. Quickly Brody stood and whisked Amelia away before his father could get a peep out. He really didn't even want to think about the subject of children or...the process he'd have to go through with the woman in front of him to have children. As he danced with Amelia he was stiffer than usual. Perhaps it was because he was doing something he didn't want to and many people were watching.

But even though he was stiff he lead Amelia through out the dance with ease as if it was second nature to him. Dancing was one of his strong points, he supposed he got that trait from his deceased mother. She loved to dance, and so did he. Now that he was dancing with Amelia he was reminded of how he used to dance with his mother. Although it wasn't really what one would call dancing considering he was half his mother's height at the time.

When they were in the middle of the dance Brody looked down at the blue eyed girl then spoke. "If your feet begin to hurt, we can stop. They look painful to move in." He said monotonously. For some reason he was feeling oddly kind towards the girl. It was probably because it was in his nature and he was raised up to be kind and courteous even if you don't want to be. Of course once he'd said that to her he'd caught eye of his father grinning. Oh good grief He thought as he knew what his father's grin meant. His father was thinking that even though he and her fathers were enemies the children seemed to like each other. None the less this misunderstanding had a pro to it, it meant that they were keeping appearances very well. Which was good. The public couldn't know that...they, well he at least, detested -well maybe a little less than detested- each other.

Castleofglass 07-10-2013 09:20 PM

Amelia could feel that her partner felt tense holding her, which should have been expected. She honestly expected for the dance to be silent between the two, no eye contact at all. She heard Brody tell her they could stop whenever she wanted and felt his eyes look into hers. She blinked twice before figuring out that he actually spoke to her. His voice is lovely when he's not blatantly hating me. She thought to herself as she looked back into his eyes, those light, whiskey-colored eyes.

"Oh." She laughed a little to break the awkwardness she created, "No it's alright. I-I've had to do worse than this in heels." Whether she meant that dancing with him was a nightmare or not, she couldn't say in the current moment. She figured shed leave it at that as to not complicate things even more. When she was turned around to face her parents, Amelia saw that they had tears in their eyes. Theyre really happy about this aren't they? She thought, Maybe he isn't as bad as I was raised to see him as.I guess I could learn to like him at least.

She didnt know how long they danced for, but it certainly felt like an eternity. The music and the silence of the people made it truly feel like Brody and Amelia were the only two in the large room, dancing. She looked up at him just to glance. He really did know how to lead her. For a boy he was taught how to dance well, probably a princely feature. In the amber lighting of the chandeliers of the room, Brody did look in a way attractive, seeing as he seemed so passionate about the way he moved, whether he was faking it or not. Amelia blinked again and shook her head to herself. Oh stop this, Amelia She scolded herself, What is wrong with you? Are you telling me you are begging to like the kid? Don't even think about so much as enjoying the-

The slow began to fade away into nothing and it was soon over. The couple stopped in sync, looked at each other, then looked at the crowd looking at them and smiled on cue. They all gave cheers and claps. The couple did their bows and curtsies, but before they could leave to their table, Amelia heard a soft tinkling. She slowly turned her head to see that her mother tapping on her wine glass. Oh no. Suddenly, her father began to tap on his glass, and then his father, until eventually the entire room was filled with a choir of tinkling wine glasses. The universal sign of getting the couple to kiss in front of everyone, or else they won't stop. Why, why, why, why.

The couple looked at each other with pink-stained cheeks. You did this not only moments ago, Amy. She took a deep breath, Just make it a showy kiss and then you can go to your table and get drunk to forget about this. Amelia suddenly cupped her husband's cheeks and mashed her lips against hers. A thousand emotions heated her quick movements and allowed her to keep the boy in place so that they were in contact for at least seven seconds.

After parting his lips, all she could hear was the thousands of guests cheering and panting from both man and woman.

k-kawaii 07-10-2013 09:51 PM

And just when Brody thought that he was home free and didn't have to do anything else with the girl beside him that involved physical contact the tinkling of whine glasses rang in his ears. Oh hell. These people just want a show out of them don't they? He wondered as his lips turned down into a frown. He knew what was going to happen next. Brody went to turn and give his wife a soft peck on the lips but she beat him to the punch. Her hands were soft against his cheeks, her lips soft against his.

His face immediately turned red, but he kissed her back. And when he did he felt his heart beat just a little faster. What was wrong with him? What was this feeling he was getting from just kissing her? He let the girl do as she pleased for those few short seconds until she pulled her lips away from his. For the second time that day he really looked at her. His eyes bored into hers for a split second before suddenly he remembered who she was again.

Brody slipped on a shy smile then pulled away from his wife, hoping that they would not have to do that again. It wasn't that it was horrible kissing her it was just he did not wish to feel his heart pounding in his chest like that because of her again. He couldn't feel attraction to her, and he most certainly could not love her. No, he most certainly could not love her.

A small chuckle came from his father because apparently he'd seen Brody's face. Lovely. He hoped they enjoyed torchering him. Although he doubted it could get any worse than this. Then suddenly they brought out the cake that was for their wedding. It was a new custom that had been started recently so Brody wasn't too sure how things went after this considering he'd only been to one wedding in his life.

Suddenly his father stood and announced that the newlyweds would be cutting the cake now. After he'd announced that the king leaned over to instruct Brody on what to do. "Just cut a piece or two of cake together, and then feed it to each other." Suddenly the man's voice got lower as if telling a secret. "Or just shove it in each others faces, but be gentle." He said and Brody was out of his seat.

Brody took Amelia's hand and took her from her seat to the cake they'd brought out and sat on the table that had been placed in front of the room where everyone could see it. When they were at the cake Brody took the cake knife from the baker and then quickly guessed at how they would both cut the cake together. His mind instantly came up with an idea, although Brody did not like it, that would appease their guests. Brody then stepped behind Amelia and then placed her hand over his that held the knife and then held her to him as he cut the cake with her, his cheeks flaming red the whole time.

When two slices were cut, one for each of them Brody put the knife down and then took his slice of cake. "Open your mouth." He instructed with a nervous tone, and as he went to place the cake into her mouth he gently pushed it messily into her mouth, causing icing to spread across her lips, chin and some of her cheek.

Of course the crowd let out fits out laughter but he could only guess that he was next, and he doubted he was going to like it.

Castleofglass 07-10-2013 10:13 PM

She thought that after kissing him she would be left alone, until she saw the cake being rolled in by the baker. Why can't they just leave me alone for the rest of the night. Brody lead her out to the center once again so that they could cut out two pieces and feed it to each other. She figured that they were each going to cut a piece on their own but it seemed that the boy knew how to put on a show. She felt him behind her and her fingers being interlaced with his as they cut the cake together. She would have elbowed him right in the chest if he hadn't been her husband. Keep it together, Amy. She stared wide-eyed at the knife slicing two pieces of cake, hoping no one would see her flushed face.

Once the pieces were put on a plate, her husband told her to open her mouth. Before she could open her jaw, she felt cake being mashed into her mouth, icing spreading across her face. She stood there shocked, not even thinking about swallowing until she figured out what in the world this boy had just done.

I am going to kill you. Her eyes seemed to throw flaming hot daggers into his. Amelia had just rolled her hand up into a fist until she heard someone from the crowd raise his voice. "Why don't you lick it off her, eh?" That made the crowd hoot and holler in more laughter. That snapped her out of her rage just then. She had a better idea.

She took her piece and smeared her hand in the icing. The boy looked at her as if he were a deer in headlights; afraid and could not move. Amelia dragged her hand down his cheek and wiped the rest of it on his nose. The crowd simply could not take the comedy show that they had been witnessing. She grinned, took their pieces of cake, courtsied mockingly and walked back to their table, making sure she swung her hips just as devilishly.

She wiped the catastrophe that was on her face in the washroom and almost screamed. And to think I almost liked you. She spotted him in her thoughts, Youre nothing but a cold, heartless enemy. Forcing me to be your property. After washing her face several times, she had not only calmed down, but her make up was reduced to subtle eye shadow and lip stick. She couldn't care less at this point. Out of the wash room she slowly made her way to her table, keeping her eyes down. She began to eat the rest of her cake in silence and ordered wine whenever her glass was empty. Nuallan. The cake almost tasted like bile when she thought of the name she would forever have to be known as, Amelia Nuallan. Wonderful.

k-kawaii 07-11-2013 01:28 AM

A shiver passed through Brody when the girl's eyes shot murderous looks toward him. Instantly he felt her intent to kill until someone from the crowd called out to them. Oh yeah, like licking cake icing off of her would make things better. When he looked back at Amelia he wasn't to sure what she was going to do. Was she going to smash the cake into his face like he'd did her? It was probable. Wait, no she decided it was best to put icing on his cheek and nose. His lips pursed into a hard line as he sighed and wiped some of the icing off his cheek. And as he did he caught her walking away with that sway to her walk that let him know she wasn't happy.

Did she not know that it was something they done at weddings. He wasn't sure but when he looked over at his father the man quickly looked away from him and motioned him to come sit back down. At the table Brody cleaned the icing off his face with this father, and Amelia's mother's help. When he was done clearing his face he sat the napkin down beside him and took a small sip of the wine in front of him. As usual it was sour. He then grabbed for his glass of water and took a large sip of it to wash away the taste of the wine by that time Amelia had came back causing Brody to tense up.

Should he apologize for earlier? By the way she was acting it seemed that she was truly mad at him. Although he did not mean to make her angry, he figured she'd know about the cake. His eyes stayed focused on the water glass in front of him as he dared not look at his wife next to him. Considering she had gotten her revenge on him earlier he felt that he did not need to apologize and that if she was angry at him for what he did she would eventually get over it. Besides what did it matter? It wasn't like he was trying to get along with her.

After everyone had ate and talked for a little while longer it was now time for the newly weds to leave. When Brody knew of this he sighed in relief finally they were going home, he couldn't wait to be in his own bed. Of course he was only assuming that they were heading to his home considering that it was custom for the princess to move in with the prince. But that was usually because the prince was already becoming a king. So where would they go? Brody reached over at took Amelia's hand, to others he may have looked cautious but in reality he was hesitant to. He really didn't want to have too much contact with her anymore than needed. Besides she was probably wanting to strangle him at the moment and so his hesitance also hinted that he didn't want a fight.

When Brody stood he took Amelia with him, being sure to walk at a reasonable pace as their parents followed out after them along with everyone else. The setting sun caused Brody to squint a little as he stepped outside to see that there was still common folk and many others waiting for their departure. Brody forced a smile on his face and beamed at the people as he passed them. When they reached the carriage that was waiting for them Brody's father took his shoulder then looked over at Amelia's father with a grin. "Would you like to do the honors?" King Nuallan asked before Amelia's father spoke up.

"Brody, Amelia, instead of having you both stay at my or King Nuallan's castle we decided that we would give you a castle that's a couple miles away from here. Its your wedding gift from us to the both of you."

Instantly Brody felt that he could loose it. They were going to be living by themselves? Oh great. Just great. He just hoped little miss princess didn't kill him while he was sleeping. Hopefully the doors have locks on them, because if they don't they will. Getting a hold of himself, Brody smiled at his father, father in law and mother in law. "Thank you, although are you sure this is alright?" Brody asked looking over towards his father.

"Of course. We discussed it and thought it be best for the both of you." In other words the two kings still didn't completely trust each other. Brody nodded then the goodbyes began. After giving his father a hug, for the first time in public, and letting Amelia say goodbye to her parents Brody helped Amelia up into the carriage before getting in himself. Of course once they were riding away from their parents in the carriage and towards their new home Brody let his facade down and let the frown he'd been holding back show on his face.

Castleofglass 07-11-2013 01:59 AM

As Amelia indulged in more wine, she began to feel more calm and, finally, happy. The rest of the evening went by quickly and smoothly, and Brody didnt even make eye contact with her, which was for the best. In her buzzed state, she could have slapped him without a moment's notice. She almost didnt even realize Brody began leading her out so that they could say goodbye to their parents and their in laws.

She had heard her father announce the bomb shell that was their new house. I have to live with him now?! She expected to be living at his castle, at least that would have been more acceptable. Her biggest fear at that moment was that the two kings furnished the house with only one bed. She cringed at the thought and soon enough she was being helped into the carriage. The affects of the wine began to slowly hit her as the carriage went through a stony road on the way to their new house. She began to sway softly and occasionally rested her head on the side of the carriage. She rarely got to drink a lot of alcohol, so she must have had one too many. Maybe it would make the whole night fly by a lot faster.

Amelia looked up to the stars and giggled at how pretty they were and wishing that she could be one at that moment. The carriage had finally arrived to their destination: a large, white-and-gold mansion that must have had 40 acres of land on it. The two kings must have certainly wanted them to live high-end. Brody stepped out of the carriage and offered to help her. She was still a little pissed off with him after that whole event so she shook her head, took off her heels, threw them on the carriage floor and decided to walk barefoot the thirty feet up to the mansion. Anything would be better than those damn heels. Amelia began to sway as she walked, but she proved to be an expert tipsy walker, especially on painful cobblestone.

She managed to get to the large ornate doors before her husband. His positive attitude was left back at the town hall, it seems, but even so he showed some concern for her. When asked if she was alright, she giggled and said "I really like your hair." She smiled, lifted a strand of golden hair and let it go, "Plop!"

Her husband had the keys to the mansion, and as soon as he unlocked the door, Amelia swayed in. She looked around the main hall for anything to lay on. The mansion was heavily and ornately furnished, she could tell just by looking at the main hall. A group of ornate churches centered the room along with hundreds of bouquets that must have been delivered from the wedding. She trotted up to the nearest couch and nearly fell over and into it. She curled up in a fetal position and looked back at her husband, who still stood at the door.

"You know, even though you like to ruin people's faces, your kind of cute." She giggled. She couldn't help it. The alcohol made her mouth completely uncensored. "I don't even like you that much. How this will even work out for a week is something odd to me." That was not completely true. Even though the alcohol had taken leave of most of her wits, she knew what to say and what not. She already called him cute, that was enough. To confess that she liked him a little, well that was just completely absurd.

k-kawaii 07-11-2013 04:26 AM

It was obvious now that the girl was drunk. He sighed as she touched his hair then let it go. As if he was obsessive over how his bangs laid he brushed his fingers through his hair to put the hair back in place. At least he knew now to make sure the girl didn't have too much to drink in the future other wise he knew there would be lots of problems.

His grip on her heels he'd retrieved from the carriage tightened as he watched her sway in their new home and lay down on the nearest couch. It was then now that she was on the couch did he look around their new house as he shut the door behind him. Even though it was nothing compared to his old home he found his new home to his liking, but if only he could get rid of his wife. His eyes flickered over to her when she spoke to him. So she thought he was cute huh?

Well that was flattering but it didn't make him feel any bit closer to her. Although he couldn't help agree with the girl on the getting along part but he already had a solution for that. "The feelings mutual, the disliking part that is. And making this work is simple, we keep up appearances in public and ignore each other at home unless we need to interact with each other." Yes Brody was usually a kind and gentle person but towards people he saw as enemies he gave them no mercy. Except for every now and then when the manners he'd been taught kicked in. They were like a habbit he couldn't break.

With that said he went to go scope out the rest of the house but before doing so he dropped Amelia's shoes down in front of her with out a word. Leaving the girl there Brody took off the coat he was wearing and carried it on his arm as he made his way up stairs. Yes there were many a room but there was just two things he was concerned about at the moment. One, where the bed rooms were and two where each bathroom was.

As he walked down the hall he peaked through each door and found some of them empty. One large room held books. Upon seeing this he immediately claimed this room in his mind and went on down through the rooms. He also came upon a walk in closet, a towel room, and the washer room. At the last door he came to at the end of the west wing hallway he found the only bed room. "You've got to be kidding me." Roses were sat out in the room and the bed was made up nicely, perfectly, without a wrinkle. "This can't be the only bed room here." He said to himself before disregarding his jacket and shoes in the room before heading out to the east wing.

And as come to find out that was the only bed room. Now wonder it had been as big as a commoner's house, it had to accommodate both of them. Brody sighed then went and fetched his shoes and jacket from the bed room and went and placed them in the small library room he'd found upon venturing around the house. He slammed the door shut behind him then went wandering back down stairs. "You can have the bed room! I'm sleeping in the library!" He called through out the house hoping she'd hear him.

When he'd done so he went up to go through the walk in closets where some of their clothes had been put up. He quickly grabbed his attire that he'd wear for the rest of the night before heading off to one of the bathrooms he'd found.

The bathroom he found himself in was large, and luxurious like the ones back in his home. Although he found it too gaudy for his tastes. Perhaps he'd let Amelia have this bathroom instead. With out much haste he went over to the tub that was at least three or four feet deep and turned on the water and undressed while the tub was being filled up.

((I just made this badass banana split man, and almost ate all of it. that's why my reply took so long lmao))

Castleofglass 07-11-2013 09:44 AM

((Hahah that's alright I understand the need for awesome banana splits xD))

Amelia nodded her heard when the boy explained that they would only act couple-y when outside of their mansion. Of course she wished it were different. The alcohol had begun to see him in a different, more better light. Even though he did seem to hate every inch of her, there were some parts of him she could learn to like. That was why when she left her laying on the couch, she felt a little sad to be left all alone in the great hall, the only sound being the chirps of crickets outside.

She didnt have the stomach to go exploring to find her bedroom so she figured she would spend the night sleeping on that couch. No harm would come of it unless she retched all over the Persian carpet.I should get some water. As she wobbled to prop herself up she heard her husband call out that she could take the bedroom and that he would sleep in the library. Well that was odd. There really was only one bedroom. She swayed over to go and search for the kitchen, which she found on her third try after swaying here and there between rooms. At least she knew where the library and study were.

Feeling around in the dim darkness for a sink, she turned it on and gulped down the tap water, wetting her hair somewhat in the process. She frown and began to take off the pins that were holding her hair off one by one. Where she put them she couldn't remember; she just dropped them in her drunk state. After almost twenty minutes of that, her long red hair fell down her back in natural curls. That made her more than relieved. Maybe I should look for the bed now that Im walking around. She began to hobble over in another search until she stopped suddenly when she heard a shower and a light come on. Across the hall a light shown from what she guessed was the bathroom.

The light had begun to draw her there as she swayed and hobbled over to the door that held it. She tried to turn the knob. Locked. What did expect, a cute shower with someone you're supposed to hate? In a way, she wanted just that. Could they not pretend they were a couple sometimes in the house as well? She raised a tiny fist up to knock, hesitated, and put her hand back down. She decided tonight was no night to bother him anymore. She slipped in her tracks and fell, giggled at that, then used the wall for support to come back up so she could further go searching for her room.

After a while, Amelia had a whole map of the entire manor, if she could retain it after she became sober. After all of that, she managed to find the bedroom, which consisted of a large bed sprinkled with roses. They thought of everything, haven't they? She chuckled to herself, I wonder what else they could have brought here to surprise us. She attempted to shimmy out of her dress, but to no avail. The dress was meant to be tight around her waist and torso, and tonight's festivities must have gained her a few pounds so that it was extremely tight on her in the process. She didnt want to rip the dress; she could wear it for another day if she wanted. Instead she scrambled over to the bed and plopped on it, causing some petals to fly off the bed and her dress to become wrinkled. She inched her way up to the large, goose-feather pillows and hugged it tight. The alcohol had began to take her into dream land, where she smiled. Nuallan. The name sounded like a cloud in her dreamy sky. Amelia Nuallan. Wonderful.

k-kawaii 07-11-2013 05:28 PM

Brody was already sitting in the bathtub quietly when he heard a thump and then a giggle that followed after it. He supposed it was Amelia seeing as they were the only ones in the house at the moment. He wondered if she was alright but guessed she was considering a giggle had followed after the thump. Next time he was definitely going to make sure she had no alcohol to drink. He sighed as he sank down into the deep tub and let his mind wander off to different things, and anything but the red haired girl in the house with him.

After Brody had his bath and was clothed he drained the water from the tub and cleaned it out. Sure he was royalty but he knew how to clean. Only because after his mother died he found fun in hanging around the servants and helping them clean to take his mind off things. After he was done in the bathroom he left the room and carried his dirty clothes out with him. Where was the washroom again? He wondered as he walked down the west wing hallway where he knew he'd seen it earlier. And at the second door to his right was the washroom. Quietly Brody slipped in and slipped out after placing his clothes in the room.

Since it was quite Brody guessed Amelia had retired to bed for the evening which was fine with him. He would've went a looked to see if she had in fact went to bed but instead he decided against it. Brody turned on his heal then headed down the long hallway to retire to his room which for right now is the study. He supposed that he could turn one of the empty rooms into his bed room but he'd have to order a bed to be brought in and such which would cause confusion. He'd have to think up some kind of excuse between now and then.

When Brody opened the door to the library he finally felt at home. Quietly, he shut the door behind him without even thinking to lock it before going over to the cases of books. The cases were filled with books that he had yet to read, but he did find a few that he had read. AS he looked through the different books he came across a couch, a small lush chair and a table. Perfect it's where he'd sleep. All he needs is a blanket.

Brody momentarily left the library and after a few minutes of searching he found the walk in closet of sheets and room decor. He pulled down a small blanket from one of the shelves then left the closet and went back to the library, shutting and once again forgetting to lock the door behind him. After laying out the blanket on the couch he went through the many shelves once more before he found a book that interested him. He took the book from the shelf and took it back to the couch where he laid down and began to read from his book of choosing.

He was a quarter of the way through the book before he drifted off to sleep without even realizing it. It seemed the wedding had tired him out because usually he would stay up until early in the morning reading a book that he'd chosen. Although he wasn't doing that tonight.

Sunlight cracked through Amelia's tired eyes. She blinked them open and covered them with her hand to keep away the blinding rays. She would have sat up, if it weren't for the wave of pain that shocked her head and kept her in her position. Damn hangovers. She rolled to her side to figure out that she was alone in the bed, with no sign of her husband so much as touching the bed. Why would you expect someone who hates you to even attempt to be in the same room? She moaned in pain softly and gritted her teeth as she propped herself up with her elbows.

At night, nothing could have been seen of the property, but in the broad daylight it was beautiful as ever. Large trees of birch and oak and pine peppered the property beautiful and animals chorused to welcome the morning sun. It would have been a wonderful sight for her to see if she hadn't felt so terrible. She was surprised she didn't retch anywhere during the night, at least she remembered she didn't. She couldn't remember much of her wedding, aside from whenever she and Brody made physical contact. It was impossible for a girl to forget that.

He tasted...so wonderful... She cuddled her pillow longingly, Why do I feel like this? We are supposed to hate each other. We were raised to. Amelia yawned and brought herself to get out of bed and make herself presentable. She had completely forgotten that she had never fully taken her wedding dress off. She shimmied out of it and searched for where her clothes might have been.

They had to have put them somewhere... She padded down the long hallway with just her underwear on, the ones that she wore last night. Rubbing the sleep for eyes, she glanced left and right for something that would have had clothes in them. She finally came across an unlocked door. She assumed Brody opened it and that was where the clothes were. She turned the knob and went inside.

She had come to the library instead, furnished with what seemed like thousands of different kinds of books. She hadn't seen so many books at once that were for her and her husband, but she never really enjoyed reading anyway. Her mother always forced her to read classics and encyclopedias when she was out too long. Not the best punishment, yes, but that just sounded silly, grounding a princess. But it most certainly made her dislike reading and literature as a whole. She preferred to find things out on her own as opposed to words on a paper telling her what was what.

She slowly began to pad into the room, gazing at how extravagant the library was. It really was beautiful, but she doubted she would come in here often. After a few steps in, she began to hear soft snoring and deep breathing. After that, she finally noticed Brody sleeping under the blankets on the couch and she almost squeaked from surprise, if she hadn't covered her mouth quick enough. She scurried out and softly closed the door. Shit, shit, shit, that was close. She began to pant and decided to walk away from the room as fast and as quietly as she could. If he had seen her, she prayed that he wouldn't mention it. She didn't feel like being demeaned and being told that a lady shouldn't parading her naked body around her own house at nine o'clock in the morning.

She finally found the room she was looking for; the walk-in closet held his and her clothes along with other things they would need: towels, bed sheets and the like. She pulled out something casual, a yellow sundress that came down to her knees. She found some clean underwear and took that as well before returning to the master bedroom to take a nice hot shower.

she stripped down until she was bare-naked and folded last nights garments neatly on a pile on the edge of the bed. She'll get rid of that later. I wonder if they gave us servants to go along with all of this. She thought to herself as she entered the master bathroom and began to turn on the water. It was not like she couldn't do regular chores such as making the bed or cleaning the dishes, it's just that she had nearly grown up with her servants that she rarely did any of that or even at all. She could do it, she would just moan about it if she had to.

As the water became the temperature of her liking, she stepped in and began to lather and rinse herself clean of last night and the sudden event this morning. He didn't see anything, you saw that he was asleep. Nothing to worry about. She began to sing wedding music softly as she combed her long hair with her fingers and rub the grime and oil off of her with the yellow bar of soap that was resting on a tray along with expensive shampoos and conditioners.

Since the library didn't have too many windows Brody woke up to the dim light of the sun peaking through the book shelves. Because there was such a dim light he wasn't too sure what time it was, hell he didn't even remember when he'd fallen asleep last night. He looked down at the book in his hands then remembered not reading any thing past the page he was on. And seeing as he didn't get that far he guessed he fell asleep after forty minutes of reading. He sat up slowly and flinched when he realized how stiff he was. Even though the couch was comfortable it was nothing like a bed.

Thinking of beds he still needed to figure something out about ordering a new one. Perhaps he could say it was for a new servant. No, because his father would catch wind of that and know if he'd gotten a new servant or not. Perhaps he could say its for guests, or for their friends if they slept over. Yes, that was a good enough excuse and reasonable at that. Now that that matter was settled Brody sat up from the couch and placed the book on the table in front of him. He stretched out his arms before standing and stretching himself. Suddenly his stomach grumbled and he knew that it was requiring food.

With a yawn he padded across the library and over to the door where he exited the room. Upon his exit he realized that he'd not locked the door. His eyes widened as he closed the door behind him. He supposed he was lucky the girl had not done anything to him. Then again he doubted she would considering if something had happened to him then their parents would be fighting once more. So he supposed he could rule out her as a harmful threat. He sighed as he walked down the hallway then down the grand staircase. He was guessing the kitchen had to be down stairs so that was where he was heading.

And as expected, he was right. The kitchen was toward the back of the house, and before the kitchen was the dining room. Apparently Amelia had found the kitchen seeing as there were hair pins laying every where. Quietly Brody picked them up and slipped them into his cotton pants' pocket, he'd give them back to her later. He then went over to the sink and washed his hands before going to look for food.

The first things he found was the meats, since he always liked to have meat with just about every meal but desert or lunch he took out bacon and some of the sausage that was there. After he'd found the meats he found the dairy and fruits which were stored in another refrigerator. He took out a few eggs and fruit and milk along with it. Now all he had to do was cook.

Cooking wasn't something he was too good at but it always came out editable but not as good as the servants food. Brody took down two pans from their hangers then heated up the stove before placing the pans down on it. When the pans were heated he began to cook the meats first, considering they would take the longest to cook. While they cooked in the pan he moved to make the eggs. Of course he'd taken out how many he'd eat, and what he guessed how many Amelia would eat. He'd figured he'd do his act of kindness for the day and feed her so she wouldn't be on his case about it later.

Although he wouldn't admit it there was a small part of him that didn't really mind cooking for the girl. Silently he beat the eggs in a bowl while he left a few eggs out so he could make sunny side up eggs just in case the girl did not like hers scrambled. When the meats were nearly done he cooked the eggs which took him no more than five minutes considering the pan was already fairly hot from sitting on the stove eye.

When the food was done Brody plated the eggs and then put the meets on one whole plate so they both could take what they wanted from it, he also did this for the fruits. Now that every thing was plated he turned off the stove and went to sit down the plates on the table in the dining room. Of course he sat the plates across from each other and the meat and fruit plate in the center. When he was done he fetched them water and brought the glasses over to the table.

Now that everything he was done he figured he should at least go tell the girl breakfast was ready. Brody silently made his way up stairs and back to the bed room where he supposed that Amelia would be. When he seen only her clothes there at the edge of the bed he blushed and knew that she was taking a bath. He figured she'd probably be hungry since it had seemed the kitchen was untouched so he went back down stairs to leave the girl to her business. The last thing he wanted was to create an awkward situation where he walked in on her nude.

After making his way back down stairs he went back into the dining room and sat down to eat his breakfast that his body had been waiting for.

After a while of cleaning herself, Amelia stepped out of the shower, turned off the water and dried herself off. After rubbing her eyes, she noticed some lettering imprinted onto the bar of soap. She looked closer at it and made out the word "Mrs." on the wet bar. She rolled her eyes and found the "Mr." bar of soap placed next to where the other bar used to sit. They really did think of everything. She sighed, placed the wet bar of soap next to its partner and began to wring her hair so that she could french braid it. Fully dried she shimmied into her prepared clothes and threw the used towels in the hamper by the toilet.

Amelia stepped out of the bathroom and began to smell fumes of eggs and bacon. Either Brody had waken up or the servants did. She silently hoped that he didnt see anything and that he wouldn't mention it when they met again during the day. Following the smell, she trotted down the stairs and noticed a little letter slipped under their door near the entrance. She walked across and retrieved the letter, addressed to The Nuallans. It wasn't specific to either person so she figured it was only fair that she would give it to Brody so that they could both read it. She noticed the seal was royal, a joint one, which was peculiar. The Arlaine crest and the Nuallan crest managed to smush into one wax seal. She guessed that it symbolized the unity of the two lands. They really should figure out something better than just squishing the two crests together. She put the letter into her dress pocket and made her way to the kitchen by smell. The letter must have been written by the parents, wondering how they were doing and congratulating them for the umpteenth time.

Amelia rubbed her eyes again and heard the sound of a frying pan crackle as its heat died down. Only then she noticed the plate of food in the center of the large dining table and Brody sitting on the far end eating breakfast. Amelia raised her eyebrows. The boy really is nice. She smiled to herself, That was nice of him. Usually she would have a lot more courses to eat in the morning, but she suspected that he would throw something at her if she complained. Eggs, bacon, and fruit would suffice. She took her plate off the table and began to scoop both types of eggs and some fresh fruit on the side. When she came close to him she gave him a smile. "T-Thank you." She told him, "You didn't have to make breakfast for me, but that was really thoughtful." Not sure what else she could do, she gave him a polite curtesy and strolled back to her seat on the far end.

The food really was delicious, even with a painful headache on the side. She almost swallowed all of it whole and slowly began to go up for seconds. On her way back she stopped short. The letter! She put her food down and turned back around to face him. She cleared her throat nonchalantly to get his attention. "Erm, we got mail." She took out the letter from her dress pocket, somewhat folded at the edges due to its transportation, "It's addressed to both of us, so I thought it fair that we both get to read it. I think it's from our parents." She handed him the letter and instead of going back to her original seat, she took root in one that was a chair away from him. She'd rather see the letter with him from a closer distance than from 30 feet away. Popping more berries into her mouth, she waited patiently for her husband to crack the waxed seal and open the contents of the letter.

At first when Brody laid eyes on Amelia he became tense but slowly relaxed when she came over to him and smiled. Was she acting? He didn't really know. His eyes remained on her as she spoke to him. Maybe it wasn't an act, he didn't know but he supposed he could trust her for now. "You're welcome." He said to her in a rather hushed tone as he resumed eating his breakfast. He wasn't really too much of a talker in the mornings, or at any other time in the day. While Amelia ate her first plate of food he was going on to his second, but he was mainly eating the bacon and sausage with a few fruits to the side. He was still a growing boy after all. He just hoped the servants got here sometime soon or else he and Amelia would end up starving. There was only so much he knew how to cook.

He was eating on his fruits when the girl had gotten up to get more food, or he guessed that's what she was doing. Brody looked up at her when she cleared her through and said that they had mail. He looked down at the letter she held out and raised a brow. Brody slowly took it from her then cracked open the seal, which he thought looked ridiculous but he supposed it worked. When he opened the letter he didn't recognize the hand writing but he could read it. He held it out so both he and Amelia could see and began to read.

The letter wrote addressing to the both of them,
I hope you both are doing well, we miss you very much. I believe King Nuallan is becoming lonely so you will have to stop by and visit him from time to time. Any way we hope you are enjoying your new house. The servants will be arriving in three days from now, so use your time wisely. (Amelia there are some gowns in a dresser in one of the walk in closets you can wear at night.) The servants quarters will be in the little house near the woods in case you haven't found that out yet. As for everything else some more furniture and beds will be coming in to fill some of the rooms along with some of your own personal belongings. Some of our servants should be over later today or early tomorrow with your things.

Also we wish to have dinner with you soon on the first day of next week, it will be at King Nuallan's palace so do not forget. We wish the best for both of you and hope you are getting along well. If you need anything please tell us. We love you.

Oh, and I do wish that you two will give me and your fathers grandchildren soon. Since you two are grown up we're missing seeing young ones running around the castle.
Brody grimaced at the letter then sat it down in front of Amelia. Even his father was expecting them to have children? Was the man insane? Perhaps or it was so that the treaty can be even made stronger by them have children. He sighed, why did he all of the sudden feel like he was being used as some tool? Brody finished his fruits then took a sip of water from his glass. And what exactly did Amelia's mother mean by 'use your time wisely'? His brows furrowed, he wasn't too entirely sure but he had an idea. And gowns? Just what kind of gowns?

"Children... Why we are merely still children ourselves how in the world do they expect us to raise a child of our own?" He said disdainfully as he picked up his dishes. "When you're done eating just put your dishes in the sink I can wash them later. I'm going to get dressed." He wasn't trying to sound angry but it slipped into his tone of voice. It wasn't like he was taking it out on her either it's just he was just frustrated at the moment.

When he entered the kitchen he calmed himself down then sat his dishes into the sink. When he'd done that he returned to the dining room. He'd decided after he'd gotten dressed he would be roaming around the land so he could get familiar with it. He was going to leave Amelia out of these plans but when he thought that he felt some what guilty. She was his wife after all...even if she was his enemy. "I...I'm going to take a look around some more after I get dressed, would you ...like to accompany me?" He asked hesitantly. He wasn't too sure of what she'd say but whatever her answer he would be fine either way.
