After Brody threw the letter back down for her to see she quickly glanced at it again. Reading the words over and over again, she couldn't seem to process the senders words into understanding. Ch-Ch-Children?! She stared at the letter wide-eyed, Ive only started getting my woman's blood not two months ago, how am I supposed to know which thing goes where?! She turned the letter over, as if doing so would undo the words meaning. Amelia looked up at her husband, who was just as flustered as she was. She nodded when he told her to put her dishes in after she was done eating. She didnt know whether he meant to snap at her, but it was no use yelling at him for it; there was already enough mixed emotions about the letter as it is.

Amelia tried to eat some more berries to calm her nerves down, which seemed to do the trick. As Brody began to exit the room, he asked her if she wanted to go with him to explore the outside of the property. She blinked a couple of times, as what her usual thing was when she was surprised. Maybe he didnt hate me so much after all. "Sure." She smiled warmly, "It'd be nice to figure out what was around here." After he left the room to get dressed she put her hands to her face. What the hell does that mean, 'Use your time wisely'? She rubbed her temples hoping to ease her headache, Do they really expect me to wear that lingerie or whatever they decided to put in that closet? I don't even feel comfortable wearing that, much less a person I dislike seeing it. She banged her head lightly on the table and groaned.

Before long Brody came back down to the kitchen to fetch her and she lifted her head up, taking a small cat nap it seems. He asked her if she was ready and she nodded warmly. Amelia stood up, took her plate and utensils to the sink and went over to join Brody. They found footwear near a small cubby near a door that lead to the outside. After putting whatever they could find one they pushed open the doors and stepped out into the broad daylight.

They walked side-by-side most of the time; other times Brody was a little bit ahead. It was either because he didnt want her to feel like he liked her or that the scenery was distracting Amelia. The parents really did pick a wonderful property for them. The sun's rays bounced off of the many shades of green that accented the different species of trees. Squirrels bounded for their destinations and birds of all kinds chirped in their own language as if they were in a group conversation. She couldn't help but smile and giggle to herself; it was just all so beautiful.

They found the servants' quarters that the letter mentioned at least. Aside from the mansion, that was the only other building that they could find on the property. Maybe they were meant to make use of the land. "I could make a garden here, maybe." She thought aloud, not really caring if her husband was listening, "Father said I could have one if I learned to take care of them like my pets." Then she opened her eyes wide. Jinx! She almost forgotten that she hadn't seen her animals since before the wedding. She missed them dearly, but she highly doubted that she would be able to take care of all of them on her own. It was usually the servants' job to do so. Even so, she longed for an animal companion in case the feud between man and wife continued and she felt lonely. Just then, she felt the urge to grab his hand, just for the sake of that feeling of being connected with someone again. She could say that she saw someone and she figured it would look natural if they held hands. She decided against it. It was best not to make him assume anything. She blew bangs from her eyes and strolled on.

They finally fell on a pond several minutes away from the mansion. It housed swans and geese and ducks of all sorts. Signs of love gleamed in Amelia's eyes and she began to run forward to the pond. Oh, it's so beautiful! She enjoyed ponds and the wildlife around it. She always made friends with the critters that dwelled in it. She sat by the pond's bank and gazed at the many species of fowl. For the first time since the news of the wedding, she didnt have to force a smile. She loved the sight of it and she could be here all day if she wanted. She could waste her hours away just sitting here and day dreaming. It was perfect.

She snapped out of her dream land when she realized a potential threat. What if he likes to hunt? She began to panic, Isnt that what princes did? When he came by at his pace she looked into his eyes, hoping that that was not the case. "Please don't shoot the foul." She almost pleaded in her begging tone.

k-kawaii 07-12-2013 01:11 AM

Even though it may not have seemed like he was listening or even paying attention, he was. He was monitoring every move she made discreetly. Why he didn't know, perhaps it was because he was just curious about her like he usually was people. A garden did sound nice, he supposed he'd help her out with it if the servants didn't. His eyes wandered over to her when she said pets. Did that mean they were going to have animals in the house too? He looked away from her. Whatever the case it didn't matter just as long as he didn't have to take care of them, and as long as they didn't pester him. Animals were fine but he found it a hassle to take care of them.

When they reached the pond Brody's brows raised. It was a quaint pond, like something out of a painting. It seemed Amelia liked it as well by the way she ran over to it. He watched her curiously as he slowly approached the pond, stopping a good bit away seeing as he didn't want to disturb the birds. As he watched Amelia he noticed how happy she seemed. If he didn't know her he would say she was pretty as the scenery in front of him, but since he did know her he refrained from thinking so.

Brody looked away from her and took in the scenery instead. If he was an artist he would have been sure to come paint the picture he saw before his eyes. You didn't see places like this every where after all. When he'd heard Amelia's words he looked down at her. What kind of face was that? He was almost taken back at her begging disposition. "Ah..." He took a moment to clear his throat and the cute expression of the girl's face from his mind. "I won't." He said not quite sure what she was getting at before assuming she thought that he hunted.

"If you're thinking I hunt, you're wrong. I'm not much into it." No, he was definately not much into it. The only things he was really into was writing, poetry, and reading. That was about it. He was pretty boring when one was to look into his hobbies. But he did like to ride horses in the woods though. He found the forests beautiful in any season.

Suddenly he heard something, it sounded like someone calling for them. At first he thought it was his imagination but then he heard it again. It definitely sounded like they were saying Amelia. He pursed his lips and stepped closer to the girl before taking her hand. "Lets go, I think the servants are here with our things." Of course he only took her hand out of instinct but after he done so he felt strange. He didn't like this girl but he felt the want to hold her hand. Perhaps it was physical attraction that he was feeling towards her.

The feeling wasn't too horrible, in fact it was a little pleasant. Just as long as it didn't turn into anything more than physical attraction it was fine with him. Besides, he'd might as well feel attracted to her in some way considering their parents were probably going to force them into having children next. The walk was a bit longer than it had been when they'd finally arrived at the pond but eventually they made it back to the mansion where their parents servants were waiting for them.

"There you are! We were looking for you every where! We already started putting your stuff inside. Hello Princess Amelia." The butler, whose Amelia's mother had had an affair with chirped as he gave the girl a smile. Brody only nodded at the man's words but didn't say anything. Instead he stepped forward motioning them that he wanted to go inside to help out.

(I hope the last paragraph is okay :3 )

Castleofglass 07-12-2013 01:41 AM

((Yeh, it's fine, the butler can be an npc character xD))

Amelia breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he wouldn't hunt the animals. That was all she could ask of him. She heard someone call her name off into the distance. She froze. Why would he be here? Brody took her hand and led her back towards the mansion, where their furniture seemed to be arriving. During the time she looked that their interlocked hands. Brody.

When they got back to the mansion Amelia's steps began to slow to a complete stop. It was the butler from her castle. She stood there with her mouth slightly open, trying to figure out what to say. "Oh, uh, hello!" She managed to choke out, "I should, uh, find my stuff." She hurried into the house, dodging the obstacles here and there. Looking around she found the butler nowhere in sight, so she let out a deep sigh. Honestly, of all people that mother could have sent, why did it have to be him?! She pushed her bangs out of her face and watched the servants move things here and there as Brody helped them. She wanted to help, but everyone seemed so busy that she would simply be a nuisance. Instead she decided to glance at Brody. When he pushed and pulled things, his masculine features began to show, and often times he looked older than seventeen. Amelia slowly began to rest her head on the wall behind her and was begging in to stare off into space unknowingly in his direction.

"You seem to love the man, don't you, girl?" A large maid startled her with the sudden conversation. She snapped out of her trance and began to scoff at the woman, but then began to think her words out properly. She had to be convincing in case the maid decided to gossip about how the newly weds didnt love each other.

She laughed and smiled at the maid, "Oh yes, truly. We just went for a stroll not two minutes ago!"

"Well isn't that lovely." The maid smiled and fixed her dress, "Will we be expecting any children to come about?"

The words almost choked in her mouth. "Erm, yes! Uhm we're planning to! Very soon!" Words began to fly out of her mouth as she began to panic about what to say. "Who knows, you might want to ask everyone to leave the house tonight." That made the maid laugh and Amelia nervously chuckle.Hes definitely going to kill me. The maid curtsied a fare well and went on with her business. Amelia pressed a palm to her forehead in hopes to stop her sweating. I mean, I only said that to one maid, she must have known I was joking. She glanced at Brody again, whom she caught looking back at her. She widened her eyes then took her gaze off of his. She decided it was best that she left the place so if Brody did want to yell at her, it could be outside where no one could hear. She opened the door to the outside and exited the house. The butler caught her going out and flashed her a smile.

"Your mother is doing well by the way." He grinned, "Still the same as ever, if you know what I mean." They both laughed at that, only Amelia was almost on the verge of tears. She quickly curtsied to the man and walked hastily up to the pond. Little salt tears began to stain her eyes as she almost ran to the pond. Once she got there she fell to the ground and laid in the grass, not caring even a little if she got stains. Wiping her tears only seemed to create more and all she could do was let out her feelings in the silence of the day.

Once she was calm once more, she sniffled and began to look at the clouds. Only a few lazily rolled by during the beautiful afternoon. She gazed at them for what seemed like an eternity, and it was peaceful. She could have laid there forever.

((Sorry if it seems like Im rushing things not trying to >.>))

((Hahaha, it's fine. lol. ))

Brody eyed the butler strangely after Amelia's response to him. What was with that? He wondered to himself after he excused himself from the man and went to go help out the other servants. Some of the men that his father had sent were some that he considered close friends even though they were servants. They were carrying in the more heavier things which he had came to help out with. For a moment he had to pause to roll up his sleeves before going back to work. As he helped transport things here and there Amelia caught his eye. It seemed like she had been just talking to one of the maids and he was curious about what.

When her eyes met his he too turned away from her. Great, she'd caught him staring. He hoped she wouldn't think anything of it. After that Brody went back to work, this time he had to go upstairs with a few things. When most of the heavier things had been put away into the correct rooms the servants had told Brody that his assistance was no longer needed and that they were grateful for his help. He smiled at them then went to wander off to find Amelia who was not in the same place as she had been.

He wanted to find her since he wanted to at least treat the servants to something to drink before they left and he would need Amelia's assistance. Silently he looked around before he ran into the butler at the front door that they had met out side of the house. "Excuse me sir? Have you seen Amelia, I can't find her." Brody asked the man and was met with a smile that made him become uneasy. This man was odd but so were many people.

"Oh yes, she just left to go outside, to where I'm not too sure." He answered and Brody nodded to him in thanks before leaving the butler to go outside. As Brody searched for the girl he wondered what made her run out. Perhaps it was something the maid had said to her? That could be it or she just didn't want to be in anyone's way. After a few moments of searching he caught glimpse of her down at the pond. Silently he paced over to where she was quickly then stopped a few feet away from her. What was she laying down for?

Brody cleared his throat softly to let Amelia know that he was there before speaking. "...Amelia, I need you to come back to the house with me. I need your assistance." He said before coming closer to her. Her eyes looked a little reddish, like she'd been crying. "Were you crying?" He asked upon his observation as he then squatted down next to her. "Did that maid say something to you?" He sounded a little protective now, why he didn't know but if he was asked about it he could say he was just territorial and didn't like things that were his to be messed with. That applied to humans as well.

Castleofglass 07-12-2013 03:09 AM

Amelia had drifted off until she heard someone clearing their throat. She looked up and saw Brody towering over her. He asked why she was crying. "Oh, no, no, it wasn't her." She managed to get out. She paused for a moment to think about what to say next. I can't tell him. Mother is going to know since he is here. Amelia swore to her mother that she would never tell anyone of her affair with the butler, or else. She never figured out what the consequence was, and she didnt want to. When angered, her mother was awful. Often times it was her father who came out crying out of an argument, not her. Ruining her reputation, exploiting secrets to the land, her mother would do whatever she could to ruin her, and she would not turn a blind eye and pity Amelia.

She sniffled again softly and put on a smile, "It's nothing." She managed to say, "I, uh, thought I saw something scary. No big deal." She stood up and brushed the grass blades off the skirt of her dress. "Well whatever you need me to help with we gotta go!" She took his hand almost naturally and began to run back to the mansion, Brody trailing behind her. Although she was an emotional girl, she was well practiced in hiding the negative ones.

They reached the house in no time, taking a different door to enter the house so that she would not run into the butler again. Brody panted out that he wanted to treat the servants so she nodded and quickly made herself busy with that. When she was little, she had become friends with the servants' children, which acquired several skills in different fields; baking ten-minute treats was one of them. Amelia took out a large metal bowl along with a pan. In the cupboards she managed to find the typical ingredients: flour, oil, eggs, sugar, etcetera. I can make those little blondie cakes Alonso made for me once. These were exactly like brownies, only vanilla-flavored and equally as good. Amelia went preparing the batter, the way the baker's son taught her.

k-kawaii 07-12-2013 04:26 AM

Right. She thought of something scary. He didn't really believe her but he didn't press the matter either. He figured she just didn't trust him well enough with the matter or she just didn't want to tell him in general because she didn't like him. Either way it didn't matter to him. He followed behind her quietly enjoying having her hand in his as they walked back to the mansion. When he ealized his enjoyment he became troubled but figured it was just physical attraction once again.

Of course Brody wasn't to sure what they were going to do to treat the servants at first but when he seen that Amelia was already on it he watched for a moment. She was baking something. He looked away then went to fetch glasses and such. There was a hand full of servants there at the moment, maybe eight from Amelia's family and at least seven from his father. He grabbed the amount of glasses he needed, setting some down as he did so so he could get more. When he had the amount he needed he decided to take time to watch Amelia.

It seemed that she herself also knew how to cook which was a good thing considering his cooking knowlage only went so far. When a servant bustled in he grinned then looked at Brody. It was one of his father's servants. "What are you two cooking up in here?" He asked curiously as he beamed at the couple. Brody grinned then began to usher the man out. "I'm afraid that I cannot say yet, but please tell everyone to stay when they're done." Brody informed the man before he was out of the kitchen.

Now that the man was out Brody sighed then resumed watching Amelia as she went to bake what he was guessing was cakes since she had flour and sugar out. He didn't really know since he wasn't an expert in the baking department. While he watched her he noticed that her hair looked like it'd be in the way. The urge to go over and pull it behind her shoulders suddenly emerged but he held it off. But after a moment he moved from his spot and stepped behind the girl with out a word. Silently he slipped his hands around her and took her hair back away from her face and tucked it back behind her shoulders so it wouldn't be in her way.

Her hair was soft under his finger tips, and smooth as satin. Anxiousness began to fill the boys chest as his fingers gently ran through her hair before pulling away. It was such a pleasing shade of red too. Suddenly he realized what he was doing and stepped away from her. "Umm. Ah, sorry I just thought that your hair would get in your way." He said quickly as he went over to the freezer to check and see if they had ice.

What the hell was he apologizing to her for. She was his wife so he could touch her or say or do anything to her with out reason couldn't he? So why was he getting so nervous for all of the sudden?

Castleofglass 07-12-2013 08:55 AM

Amelia was very into her baking, mixing this, adding that. She stuck her tongue out slightly since she concentrated so much. She was just about to put her batter into the pan when she felt a warmth behind. She gasped slightly and looked up from her baking as she felt Brody pulling her hair back. After his explanation, he hastily went off to check for ice. She couldn't help but stare in his direction. Does he...like me? She shook her head at the thought and continued to put the batter in the pan. She slipped it into the preheated oven and began cleaning some utensils.

After her work space was polished, the oven beeped that its contents. She opened the oven and started to take out the blondes, when she absent-mindedly forgot an oven mit and singed her hand. She squeaked a little from the burn loud enough so she and Brody could hear, if he was listening. She quickly put on a mit and slid out the treats from the oven. She placed them on the counter and put a towel on them so that they wouldn't dry up as they cooled. The smell of sugar and sweets filled the room kept seems, because soon enough there came in almost if not all of the servants filing in for some treats and drinks.

She washed her hands and somewhat winced from the pain of the burn whenever cold water fell on it. She took a better look at it. The wound went from the bottom right side of her left hand to just about where her pinky started. It pulsed and hurt, but it didnt bother her so much. When she baked with Alonso, she was no stranger to kitchen accidents, so she knew how to deal with minor pains.

All of the servants were in the room and seated now, so Amelia started to cut up the contents of the pan into little pieces so that everyone, including the couple, could have one and also a second if they chose to. she set them up neatly in a pile on a large plate and set it on the table, where most servants took their two treats hastily. She went back to the kitchen counter and leaned against it casually with her waist, not even thinking that she stood right next to Brody on accident. She started to feel her chest flutter when she realized. Why do I feel like this? I-Im supposed to hate him. She averted her eyes in hopes that he wouldn't see her flushed cheeks. She then noticed his hand rest not a foot away from hers. She began to stare at the two hands, as if they wanted to touch but knew they couldn't. Do I dare? She ever so slightly began to lift her hand up to grab his out of odd affection towards the other but she stopped suddenly. Better not. She put her hand down and discarded the thought. She left her hand on centimeters away from his, almost touching it if either of them made a move. She looked up at him to see that he was looking away from her. That was a relief, it would have been silly if he was watching her lift her hand and put it back down idiotically.

She went back to gazing at the servants, eating and chatting happily. Maybe it was a good thing that the couple did that for them, seeing as they rarely get the praise they deserve. She smiled at the thought, feeling good that they did a good thing for them.

k-kawaii 07-12-2013 06:35 PM

Brody was getting the ice out of the freezer when he heard a squeak come from Amelia. He pulled out the ice then turned and glanced over at her to see her putting on a mit. Did she just try to grab that pan with out a mit on? He watched her for a bit longer before turning away and going to carry the ice over to the counter. Just as long as she didn't burn herself too badly he wasn't worried but he noted that he should look at her hand later anyway just to make sure.

It seemed his kind nature was slipping through again. Brody pursed his lips after he noted that thought. He really was too nice for his own good, something he'd also gotten from his mother. After preparing the drinks which was ice cold water he sat them out for the servants which were coming into the room at the moment. Luckily the kitchen was large or else they would've had a problem. He watched as they went and got their treats for themselves before they began chatting.

As they ate Brody felt satisfied. He'd always wanted to do something for the servants but he never really had the opportunity to. At least he had the chance to do so now. Remembering what had happened earlier while Amelia was cooking. Brody stepped away from the counter and turned to Amelia. Without a word he grabbed her hands and inspected them. When he saw that it wasn't her right hand that was hurt but her left he let go of her right had to inspect her left. Even though it may have not looked bad in Amelia's eyes it did in his.

"Amelia why didn't you put ice or ointment on this?" He asked her in a low tone as he let her hand go before searching through the kitchen for butter, not caring that some of the servants were watching him with curious eyes. When he found the butter he searched for a small spoon. When he found one he used it to take a small amount of butter out of it's container before putting it back in it's place. Brody went back over to Amelia then took the butter that was on the spoon and put it on the burn that was on her left hand.

"You can't just leave a burn untreated." He said as he rubbed the butter gently over her burn. "Next time if this happens and you're busy just put but some butter on it so it won't hurt as much okay?" Brody instructed before letting her hand go when he was finished. He really was too nice for his own good, but then again he did promise her father that he'd take care of her. Well if she asked that'd be his excuse to her.

Suddenly he turned to see the servants smiling to one another which caused a light blush to spread across Brody's face as he looked away and turned to wash the spoon he'd just used. Not too long after when all the servants were finished eating and chatting they all stood to leave the two. Brody then grabbed Amelia's hand, the uninjured one, and lead her to see the servants out.

"Tell my father I said hello, and to get out more often." Brody said to one of the male servants as he exited the mansion. The man laughed then nodded to Body. "I will tell him so Prince Brody. Good bye." He said before leaving with the rest of the servants. After they were gone Brody let go of Amelia's hand and shut the door to the mansion.

Now that they were alone Brody sighed. "I'm going upstairs to sort out some of my things." He informed Amelia before going to make his way upstairs knowing that they had put some of his things in the bed room that he'd told Amelia she could have considering he didn't feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed as her.

Castleofglass 07-12-2013 07:20 PM

She watched Brody take care of her hand with a surprised look. Even though there were witnesses watching, she was astonished at how sincere and honest Brody seemed when he gently rubbed butter on her hand. The burn didnt really hurt for Amelia, but it really was nice that he had some compassion in him to do the little things. She nodded shyly when he instructed her to treat her burns quicker than she had now.

Soon enough, the servants had begun to take their leave and return to their accustomed households. She waved goodbye as they each left. Brody went to go sort out his things and she had the urge to follow him, help him, converse with him again at least. She hated being in a large house with no one to talk to other than an enemy who she had grown fond of every moment they spent together. Maybe he thinks Im going to hurt him because of the feud. She rested her chin on her hand and began to think of something to know that he wasn't a threat to her, and that he could have meant more to her than she let on. What did his father say he liked? He told me things when I met him for the first time. What were they... She began to pace around the first floor of the mansion, hoping that she could think of something.

She found herself in the library on her thinking walk. A sudden epiphany came to her like a lightning bolt in a thunderstorm. Books! She tapped her head lightly, scolding herself that she had forgotten, King Nuallan said he had hundreds of them. And that he liked to write and such. But what could I do with that? She began to pace around the library, looking for another epiphany to occur to her.

Out of sheer boredom, she started glancing at some of the books. They ranged from encyclopedias to fiction stories to biographies and the like. She came across a strange, red, leather book that had been wedged in between two encyclopedias. She slid the book out and began to turn its pages. From the looks of it, someone had written notes in here, and some happened to be poems. It must have been a servant's, or the previous owner's. She found the little book addicting in a way that she had never experienced a book before; the hand-writing, the content, the several words spun together to make a poem that could make you feel a thousand feelings at once. It was as if it were a puzzle, and Amelia was deciphering it to figure out who this person was.

She had gotten to the last page, which only had a few words written on it in red ink:

If I had told her I fell for her sooner, I could have had more, more decades of happy matrimony with her.

Amelia opened her eyes wide and closed the little book. She didnt know whether to take that as a sign or not, but the irony of it was all too uncanny. She shrugged it off and decided that Brody would like to read it. If that last part meant anything, it'll probably come back eventually, right? She blew hair from her eyes and began to walk back to where Brody's living quarters in the library were. She put the book on the table next to his make-shift bed, swiped a piece of paper off of the stack on the table and wrote Brody a note with the complimentary ink and quill that rested near the paper.

I thought you would like this. I did. She wrote in perfect script. She felt odd leaving the note abruptly like that. Her heart fluttered at her idea of what else to put. She could be sending him the wrong kind of idea. She began to think of the last page in the book again. She drew a little heart in the corner and signed her name next to it. She put the note on top of the little book, put the pen back in its holder and scurried out of the place, as if she could undo whatever she had done just by doing so.

She decided to go upstairs and as she got to the very top, she felt drowsiness welcome her in its sleepy embrace. She yawned and glanced at the great grandfather clock. Almost 4 o'clock. No harm could have been done by taking a little cat nap, she supposed. She crossed the hall into her bedroom to find Brody just about finished with moving some things out. She gave him a small smile and decided not to tell him about her little note.

"I'm gonna take a nap here for a little while." She told him in an almost shy voice, "I..I'll make dinner since you made breakfast today." She smiled at him as he began to leave the room. If she could explain her feelings, she would. But that was just too complicated for her to comprehend at the moment. She thought about the last page again. I should tell him eventually. She thought as she began to slip off her dress, It doesn't matter if he doesn't feel the same way or not, at least he'll know whether to hold me or avoid me if I tell him. She wriggled into the nice warm blanket and soon began to drift off to sleep, her troubles disappearing like the rain after a storm.

((You could put whatever ya' want in the little book btw :3 ))

While he was sorting out his things with hers Brody had accidentally came across some of Amelia's things. He blushed as he pushed the box away and tried to erase the picture of her 'nightgowns' that were sent to her. It seemed they really were pushing the whole children thing. Well it was going to be too bad for them because there was no way he was having it any time soon. Even though it was selfish he did want to live out the rest of his teen years and some of his twenties without having to worry about a child running around the house.

Besides he didn't really think he was mature enough to have a child yet. He sighed then returned to sorting out his clothes and things then suddenly he came across a book it was blue velvet colored. He knew it was his mother's instantly. He'd read it before. It was her diary when she was younger. She was quiet poetic, he wished one day he'd be able to write poetry as well as she could. He ran his fingers over the book before looking away from it and resuming to go through his things. Each box he carried down the hall into one of the spare rooms which held an extra bed that the servants had brought in. Actually they had brought two beds in. Why he wasn't sure but he was pretty grateful that they had because he really didn't want to have to make up an excuse to have an extra bed put in.

He was carrying his last box out when Amelia came up stairs. Brody looked down at her in confusion at why she was being so shy for but he didn't worry too much about it. "Okay." He answered her before going off to put the book into the spare room he'd be staying in for the time being. Now that he was done with everything he figured he'd take the time to relax and go read for a while since Amelia was cooking dinner. He shut the door to his room then went to the library, his safe haven from the outside world.

When he went back to his usual spot he spotted a red book and a note on it. Brody went over to the table and picked up the note that was on top of the book. I thought you would like this... It began and then after reading the note from Amelia he put it down then picked up the red leather book. It looked like a dairy or something of some sort. He sat down on the couch and opened the book and began to read.

The poetry sounded familiar although it was nothing compared to what he'd read by others. It almost resembled his early poetry. As he read the book his brows furrowed as he tried to find out who it was. It was just so familiar. And as he got to the last page he read the last words on the page. Suddenly the boy froze and his eyes widened.

Those words rang in his mind like a long lost memory and then he realized who the book belonged to. It was his father's. It had to be. He...he had said those same words at his mother's funeral. Pain spread through his chest as his lips pursed in a hard line. Had his father lived here before? With his mother perhaps? It was possible. Suddenly he wondered when Amelia had found this. When did she come into the library? He was also curious to where as she found it considering he'd just only looked through the books last night. And why in the world did she want him to read this?

Brody got up from his spot on the couch and left the library with the red leather book in his hand. He silently made his way to Amelia's room in which when he had finally reached the bedroom he slowly crept in. Brody made his way across the room and found the princess sleeping in the bed that was meant for the both of them. At first when he reached the bedside he was hesitant to wake her but after getting up his courage he reached out a hand and shook her. "Amelia...get up Amelia." He said as he tried to shake her away. "I need you to tell me where you found this book Amelia."

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 12:22 AM

Amelia woke up being shaken abruptly and the sound of his voice. She hadnt been sleeping for long, yet she still rubbed her eyes and moaned softly in annoyance. She looked at the book in his hand and froze, thinking she had done something wrong.

"I-I found it in the library." She stuttered, "It was wedged between two books I think. I-I thought you would like it. I liked it." She propped herself up with an elbow, realized she had only underwear on, and quickly covered herself so that he wouldn't see. The boy looked so flustered about this book. Did he not like it? She began to regret even doing that at all; giving him the book to read. All she wanted to do was show him that she wasn't an enemy. What did he think of her now? Her head began to swim and she began to eye the boy warily as he paced around the room. He didnt know what he would do, but she hoped that he wouldn't harm her. She wouldn't know what to do in that kind of situation.

((Sorry for short response, I didn't want to make your character do stuff without your consent so yeh xD))

When she'd gave him her answer his brows furrowed and he leaned back away from the bed a little. So she'd just found it randomly but how had he not found it? When he looked down at her once more now that he was out of thought he looked away from her again when she covered herself. Did she sleep in the nude or something? It looked that way. Perhaps it was a good thing that he didn't sleep in the same bed as her it would be far too awkward. After she'd covered herself he hesitantly looked back to her.

"I do like it...it's just I think it's my father's. I don't know if he and my mother had lived her once, or maybe the books that are here where sent here from both of our libraries but the words on the last page were the same exact words he said at ..." He stopped, why was he so hesitant to tell her something so small like his mother dying. "ah, my mother's funeral." Brody finished his sentence before sitting down at the edge of the bed. The evidence was there, it had to be his father's notes in this book. Not unless by some possible chance someone had also lost their love. He was looking at the book again, flipping through the pages of poetry that he didn't know his father wrote, although there was some other writings other than poetry there.

After a moment when Brody came to his senses he froze then stood up and looked at Amelia. "I apologize if I have startled you, it's just I am surprised that such a thing would be here. I'm sorry for waking you up for such a trivial matter." He spoke formally as if she was a total stranger to him. Why he was speaking this way he wasn't sure. "If...you'll excuse me..." He said softly before turning and going to leave the room. For some reason he wish she'd stop him from leaving. And what would happen after that? You'd sit and have a lovely chat? Right, you idiot she's still... The enemy. But he knew that already. He sighed and then strode towards the door.

(It's fine, I don't mind how short (long as it isn't under paragraph lol) or long it is, so no worries about length :) )

Amelia raised her brows when Brody told her that the notebook could have been his father's and that the last page were the words that his father said to his mother when she...died. She wished she could have known how the boy felt, but truly she never experienced loss like that. Unless it was a pet, no one in her immediate family had ever passed away, so she felt at loss to help comfort him. She could feel how anxious mentioning his mother made him feel just by how formal in his speech he had become. Just then, she saw him at his lowest she's ever seen him, and she knew she had to do something.

He was just about to leave her alone again, but that just didnt seem right. Its now or never. Her eyes followed him across the room, I have to do something. She had forgotten again that she only had her bra and underwear on when she lunged out of the bed, ran to him and hugged him from behind. She began to hug him tighter to outweigh the immediate embarrassment that had been construed from her hugging him. Once she felt herself untense she huffed a sigh of relief.

"I-I'm sorry your mother passed." Amelia said through his shirt, "Truly." She unraveled her arms around him and began to slip back into the bed, keeping an eye on him making sure he didn't turn around. She laid on her side, keeping her body under the covers, shielding herself from what may come. She knew for a fact that she wouldn't be able to continue her nap after all that had happened, but where else could she have gone? Oh, why did I let go of him so quickly?...

k-kawaii 07-13-2013 02:35 AM

When he felt arms wrap around him from behind he was startled. His eyes widened and he tensed. He went to turn to look behind him and his mouth opened but no words came out. AS he looked around at her he saw bare flesh and turned away as his cheeks heated up. But even though he was embarrassed and a little shocked at her actions for some reason he felt comforted by her embrace. No one had ever done that. Sure his father had, and the servants but it had been such a long time.

He untensed at her words then pursed his lips. It did sound like she really was sorry about his mother. He'd heard that a million times as a child but this was the first time it affected him and he felt comforted. When she let go of him he felt cold, like he'd just left a warm solace. Even though he hated to admit it he liked the contact. Brody stood there for a moment unsure of what to do before he gripped the book in his hand then looked over at her under the covers.

She looked frightened of him. Brody then gave her a smile, a true rare thankful smile that he didn't just show to anyone. It made him look younger than that of seventeen years old. But even though the smile expressed thankfulness there was a small bit of sadness in it too. "Thank you, Amelia." He said softly before turning and walking out of the bedroom. "I'll see you at super." Then his voice was it's usual tone as he spoke while closing the door behind him.

As he walked down the hallway to go back to the library he felt pain in his chest, and the bitter taste of the remembrance of his mother's death could still be tasted in his mouth. But there still was a relief there that Amelia had given him when she hugged him. His cheeks flamed red as he entered the library to clean the place up where he'd slept the last night. Get a hold of yourself Brody. He told himself as he imagined the girl in her underwear behind him. His blush deepened and he was tempted to pull his hair out.

Anxiously he folded the blanked and straightened up the couch and table before exiting the library with what he guess was his father's notebook, the blanket, and the book he'd been reading the previous night. Brody carried those things into the spare room that a bed had been put in and where he'd also moved his stuff. As he walked into the room and sat his things down he wondered if what he was doing was really right. He wondered if maybe Amelia was lonely, she was with out her parents after all and friends perhaps. While he was used to being alone seeing as his father had a lot to do and...he liked to seclude himself to books. But then again why in the world would she want his company?

She did see him as an enemy too right? Well, maybe not considering what she just said but then again she could just be nice at heart like he was and of course put differences aside with matters like that. Brody wasn't sure but he pushed it aside for the moment and decided to go to the walk in closet to fetch actual comforters and sheets. When he entered the walk in closet he was surprised to find more clothes, his own as well as Amelia's. His eyes lingered a bit longer on Amelia's before he went to fetch the sheets.

A few moments later after attempting to put on the bed sheets Brody gave up. He really need sheets on the bed but they just weren't doing as he wanted them to. It looked like he was going to need help. He huffed, but he really didn't want to ask for it. It would be slightly shameful to go as the red head for help to do something so simple. And yet he still found himself going to her. Brody stood silently at the tall doors of their bed room before knocking. "Ah, Amelia are you still awake?" He asked loud enough so where he could be heard through the doors.

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 02:54 AM

Amelia heard him give her a warm thanks. She looked up at him and realized he had become radiant. Something about him seemed so different. He looked so full of life, so youthful, and in a way, happy. She became speechless at his appearance; she began to see him in a completely different light. He exited the room and she flopped her head back on the pillows. Her heart beat became irregular. Had Brody not left, she could assume that he could have heard her heart beat as well. Her face became as red as her hair and she started to produce little beads of sweat. What is going on?! Amelia cradled the adjacent pillow and rubbed it softly, as if that would give her the answers she needed. I...I think I...I think...I think that I...l-

The sudden rap on the door startled her enough where she almost flew off the bed. "Uh, yeah, uh, hold on I'll be outdontcomeinyetuntilItellyouto." Amelia spoke so fast out of anxiety she was worried Brody didn't get the entire reply. Even so, she fumbled getting out and looking for something to put on. She noticed the bed wear and she made a grunt of disapproval. She couldn't wear that. Then again, the sun dress was most likely dirty after laying outside. Hastily she looked around the room to find something to put on.

Dammnit, everything must be in the closet. She began muttering curses under her breath and checking all over the room again just in case she had missed something. She looked back at the gowns that were neatly packed. She let out a deep, deep sigh.

With no mirror in the bedroom, she blindly took out one that she thought looked acceptable. It was navy blue and made of soft, expensive silk. From the looks of it, the only see-through parts were around her waist and just above her bust. It cut down to her knee-caps and at least covered her unmentionables enough where, unless Brody tripped and fell right below her legs, he wouldn't see anything. She slipped it on quickly, trotted up to the door and opened it up a wide crack. "I-Is there something wrong?" She managed to say with a normal color to her cheeks.

k-kawaii 07-13-2013 03:21 AM

Hearing her answer Brody's brows furrowed in confusion. She sounded a bit flustered but about what? He looked away from the door then slipped his hands into his pant pockets as he waited for her to come out. He then guessed she had sounded flustered because she was thinking he was about to open the door when she had no clothes on. The boy's cheeks nearly flushed red again but he prevented it after he let out a sigh.

When Amelia finally came to the door Brody was expecting to see her in her sundress from earlier but was shocked when he seen she had on one of those dreaded gowns. His eyes widened and his cheeks turned a dark shade of red as he took in her appearance. Even though he could only see through the part on the waist it was still...Brody turned away from the girl to hide the blush on his face. "Can't you find something better to wear?" He asked her in an annoyed tone. "Or are you trying to seduce me?"

That could be possible. She was probably siding with their parents and trying to make the treaty stronger just so their country wouldn't go to war. Sure there was nothing wrong with it but still! He didn't want kids right at that moment! "Because if you are it sure as hell isn't working." Brody retorted. "And never mind, I'll just do it myself." He said before leaving the bedroom and walking quickly down the hall. He couldn't believe he trusted her. Now, along with their parents, he had her to deal with too about the whole "grandchildren" situation. He sighed then ran his fingers through his hair.

Although she did look stunning in the gown. His cheeks flamed red once more as he fought to get his emotions under control. They were becoming unstable and impulsive, which wasn't a good sign. It was never a good sign when he became impulsive, and especially now it wouldn't be a very good thing if he became impulsive and done something to her. Suddenly his mind took a turn for his worst and he let out an array of curses that came out merely as grumbles as he went to seclude himself in his room.

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 03:49 AM

Amelia gawked at him and began to glare, hot fury rising to her cheeks. "I couldn't find anything else since all of our clothes except for this was in here!" No matter what sense he put into him, Brody just didnt listen to her. He stalked off in the other direction as she slammed the door to isolate herself once more. She felt burning tears flow down her cheeks. How could you have ever thought to have liked him, Amy? She scolded herself harshly, He couldn't ever like you, nor love you. Forget about him tolerating you. He hates you. She sunk to the floor and began to cry into her knees. She felt hopeless and simply rejected. She became too comfortable with him and now they were back in square one. Why she thought that getting him to trust her at all was a good idea shell never know. She began to cry for a while in her fetal position.

The red from her cheeks began to fade and so did her negative mood. She looked up and saw that the sky began to darken. Rrrrrrrrrrrr. Her stomach began to protest. She hadnt eaten since breakfast and she figured it was time for her to make dinner. She didnt even want to look at Brody in the eye any time soon, so she guessed she would bring him his food somehow. Still in the night dress, she padded down the stairs and into the kitchen. She began to busy herself with searching for ingredients and utensils, thinking of something to prepare on the spot. She found a steak, along with many ears of corn and some lettuce in the refrigerator; that would make do. She began to heat up a frying pan she took out and started preparing the ingredients. Heating a pot of water to boil, Amelia dropped in the corn and began cleaning and making salad. She found vinegar and salt and began flavoring the lettuce like that. Soon enough she put the giant steak on the pan and let it sizzle. Cook it until you can barely see any red. She heard Alonso's voice as she began to watch the steak and mix ingredients in a large bowl.

She took the pieces of corn out and began scraping off the little yellow beads to put into the salad. She took the steak off of its pan and cut it up into two pieces, one for each of them. When she had set two sets of tableware, she began eating some of her dinner. It felt lonely and quiet without the company of even a person across the room. She sighed, took her plate and began looking for the library. Once she came to the doors she pondered whether she should go in and apologize for the misunderstanding. She shrugged it off. She thought it best not to make him any more angrier.

She knocked three times softly on the door. "There's dinner in the kitchen if you want." She said loud enough to hear and in a melancholy voice. She started making her way to her room. She gave him the benefit of the kitchen if he wanted; she knew she was going to be alone tonight. Opening the door, she seated herself next to the night stand and began eating hunched over. The steak tasted salty in some places, but she could of sworn she never put salt in it.

k-kawaii 07-13-2013 04:31 AM

In the library Brody was sitting on the couch he had slept on the night before, frustrated and constantly running his fingers through his hair. He had to stop thinking about her like that. His cheeks flushed red once more as his mind brought up the memory of her in the night gown. Sure she looked lovely, no delectable in fact but...Wait, what the hell was he thinking? A groan escaped his lips as he leaned back on the couch of the library. He needed to calm down and get his head on straight.

He look a deep breath, then exhaled and forced his mind to become calm. He then remembered her slamming the door behind herself after yelling something. But what was it? He didn't know but why was she mad? Who would attempt to seduce someone then get mad because that person didn't want them? It didn't make sense and then the mechanics in his mind began to work faster. Wait, first of all she didn't have any clothes on in the first place. Plus now that he recalled it he was pretty sure the only thing to change into in her room was those horrid night gowns that he supposed her mother sent. Now he felt guilty. But why didn't she just change into the dress she had before?

Oh right, she'd been wearing it earlier at the pond so she might've gotten it dirty. His chest felt heavy as he thought this and then he heard a knock at the door. Dinner. He would have to apologize. Brody then sucked in a breath and took a moment to straighten out his clothes before heading down stairs.

When he reached the dining room he found no sight of Amelia, and when he looked in the kitchen he didn't see her but he seen a plate of food that was waiting for him. He pursed his lips then left the kitchen and dining room. Where could she have gone? Silently he searched through the house, guessing at where she'd be and finally he ended up at her room. He knocked softly and then opened the door to find that the girl was eating in the room alone. She looked sad it made Brody's chest tightened. He'd wrongly accused her and he guessed he'd hurt her feelings.

"Amelia...what are you doing?" Was the words that came out of his mouth. Then he immediately scolded himself for asking such a stupid question before rephrasing. "I mean...ah..Sorry for earlier, I had forgotten that you only had gowns in here to change into..." He trailed off hoping she would just forgive him and not seclude herself in her room. He didn't want her to end up like him.

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 04:47 AM

Amelia had honestly been surprised that Brody came into her room looking for her. She looked up and quickly covered herself, just in case he thought of
Her doing something other than she had planned. As she finished covering up she heard his apology. "It's alright." She managed to crack a small smile, "Id probably react the same way of you were dressed just as provocatively." She laughed softly to herself. She gazed down at her plate. She didnt realize that she didnt eat any of it; just rolled its contents around with her fork. She really hadnt expected him to even come past this room, but she was more than happy he did; and that made her smile grow a little more.

She remembered his first question and glanced back at her plate. "I..I thought you didn't want to see me at all for the rest of the night, in truth." She averted her eyes away from him. "Do you...do you want me to...come down and eat with you?" She almost wished that he would say yes, but she would understand if he was only here to apologize and leave her again. Please don't leave me... She opened her eyes wide and forgot again about what she was wearing. "I'll put on something more appropriate before I come down." Just then her cheeks went back to a bright pink tinge.

k-kawaii 07-13-2013 05:19 AM

Even though he had just apologized to her he still felt overly guilty for treating her like he had. Where were his manners, and his patience? Usually he wouldn't have lost his temper like he had just a few moments ago. He looked up at her to see she was now cracking a smile. That made him feel a little better but her next words washed away his relief. He pursed his lips and looked away from her as she had done him but at her question he looked back up at her.

Ofc ourse he wanted her to eat with him, well...more so he'd rather have her eat with him than eat alone in her room like this. He was about to tell her yes but she spoke before him. Brody's cheeks also began to turn a light shade of pink and he nodded. "Yes, I'll be waiting for you down stairs...Amelia." He answered her before giving her a faint smile and closing the door behind him as he left.

When he was downstairs he let out a sigh and he felt all the tension roll off and away form him. Maybe this girl wasn't all that bad. It seemed she was a bit lonely though, which made him worry. He didn't want anyone to have to feel lonely or seclude themselves like he does to himself. It was painful to say the least. Silently he walked to the dining room and into the kitchen to grab his plate of food, utensils and a glass of water.

As he sat his plate down he was surprised to see the girl had cooked such a meal. Sure he knew how to cook meats too but still he was impressed that the girl could cook. It seemed she took had servants as friends. That or her mother had put her in classes where she had to learn how to cook. His mother had such classes like that when she was younger if he recalled right. Brody sat down at one end of the table and then began to ate while he waited for Amelia. He would've waited but his body had betrayed him.

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 05:54 AM

When she heard his footsteps die out, she got out of her bed, letting the covers fall. She began making her way to the closet, glancing around her surroundings. She only began to notice now how empty the house felt without people going here and there, changing this and that, conversing. She was so used to the hustle and bustle of her original home that the quiet of this house frightened her a little. She craved noise in a way, craved the sound of human interactions and to interact with them herself. That probably explained why she had become so emotional over the past 24 hours, and also why she felt a strange attachment to Brody. Brody... The way he said her name before he left made her chest flutter again.

How could hate turn into affection so quickly after spending time with a person? It didn't make sense to her. She still hated that butler and probably will until the day she passed, and they had been in the same house for years. Why was Brody so different. Its because he's never done anything wrong to you. Tears began to well up in her eyes again, His family name is what makes you think you hate him. She found her clothes on one side of the closet. She took out a loose shirt and a long pair of yoga pants. She slipped out of the wretched gown that caused Brody to dislike her and put on the comfortable clothes. She thought of sleeping in this attire instead. Once exiting the closet, she trotted up the stairs to get her plate of food and join Brody in dinner.

He again sat at the far end of the table. She considered sitting more closer to him, maybe so they could talk or something, but she discarded the thought. She wanted no more screw-ups tonight. She sat where she did for breakfast, smiled at Brody from across the table and began eating her food in a silence that didnt feel so empty.

k-kawaii 07-13-2013 04:32 PM

Brody looked up in Amelia's direction when she came back down but he didn't stay a word. Instead he resumed eating no really knowing what to say to her, and if something should be said. So he remained silent until something managed to pop up into his mind just as he took the last bite of his food. Holding the question in his mind he took a sip of his water first before speaking. "Who taught you how to cook?" He asked her out of curiosity.

Since he'd been curious about the matter earlier he figured it'd be best to ask her now since they were eating. Plus it would be a simple conversation starter, at least he'd know a little something about her then. Maybe it'd help him become a little less tense around her. "I always cooked with the servants." He added to his previous statement to make it seem like he wasn't trying to pry into her personal life or anything of the sort.

Castleofglass 07-13-2013 04:50 PM

Amelia looked up from her food. "Oh." She began, "A lot of the servants had children my age so they taught me skills their parents taught them." She looked to the side of her plate and thought of some of them. Her favorite was Alice, a maid's daughter who taught her household chores. Then there was Alonso, who taught her basic cooking and Jeremy, the horse-faced boy who rode horses with her. She smiled at the nostalgia and wondered where they were now. At the ripe age of 15, the three went off to serve at another place, which made Amelia sad. From what she heard from their parents, they were at different corners of the earth now, unreachable. All that they gave Amelia were the childhood memories.

"I wished I had the chance to say goodbye to them." She confessed absent mindedly, "They left the castle a year ago to be hired at other places." That thought made her a little sad, making her push her food around on the plate. She realized where she was, shook the sad thoughts aside and looked up at Brody. "Did you ever have friends like that?"

k-kawaii 07-14-2013 12:20 AM

Well maybe what they had in common was a little different. He was a little surprised to hear that the servants had children in the house. His father, for some reason or another, didn't like for the servants to bring in their children when they worked. Instead he always let one of the mothers off so one would always be with the children.

"Yes, although the situation was different from yours." He answered as he let his eyes avert to his empty plate. It was different but it had the same ending. After Brody's mother had died he'd locked himself up in the library all day, ignoring his friends, his father, anyone around him. The only time he came out was to eat. Eventually his friends stopped coming to see him and they had went on with their lives. By the time he'd came out of his exclusion stage he'd learned that most of them had moved away.

Ever since he's regretted secluding himself from him. "But, that's not really a good subject." He replied before standing up from his chair. "Are you done eating I can take your dishes if you'd like?"

Castleofglass 07-14-2013 12:50 AM

Amelia was a little worried about how Brody answered her question. The way he looked down made her feel that he was hiding something. His father did say that he was somewhat of a loner after the death if his mother. Maybe that was why he chose to stay at the opposite corner of the house.

"Oh, uh, yes Im done." She gave him her plate and utensils when he came around to take it. He went to go clean up the dishes as Amelia sat in her seat silently. Occasionally she looked up at him, working so diligently and quietly. In a way she felt bad for him; terrible at most. His mother died, so it would make sense that he guarded himself well. Even so, Amelia had the very urge to break down those barriers and actually see who he really was, like when he showed her that smile of his. That beautifully radiant smile. It was as if he lit up the room and not the lamps. Amelia began braiding her hair to try to keep herself busy.

She didnt know how he managed to be alone all the time, but he was good at it. Even now it was difficult for her to sit still and not talk. So why was he so afraid of interacting with her? Its your family name. A dark voice inside her head hissed, He wouldn't have been so opposed of you in the first place if you were someone different. Even so, she couldn't stand not talking to him. Her previous hate for him had turned into something completely different. She felt drawn to him in some way, and there wasn't anything she could do about it. If I had told her that I fell for her sooner, I would have had more, more decades of happy matrimony with her. The words echoed like a soft yet persistent echo. She sighed deeply. Her heart thumped so fast and loudly. Her ankle started shaking uncontrollably. She had to do something. It was now or never.

"I don't want to be alone tonight." She confessed, looking up at him with glistening, deer-like eyes.
