Cain shrugged one shoulder, though he was still feeling embarrassed in the presence of the other man. "I did, but maybe you shouldn't trust me that much," he said. He had considered walking off after all. He didn't want it to seem like so much of a given that he wanted to stick around even if he did for now. Cain slipped past Kirin quickly and went back to his room to put away his journals, but not before he ripped out the last page and crumpled up the embarrassing ramble of thoughts. He tossed the page into a corner of the room, then walked back out. Now that he'd already gotten his need to wander out of his system, what was he going to do?

Kirin watched him, he then went and got dressed. He came back out fully clothed. "Would you like to go and see the market during the day?" He asked having at this moment the rest of his day free. He had known Cain would come back because he had seen the journals. Deep down he knew that Cain wouldn't leave them behind.

By now Kirin had put some clothes on and Cain felt relieved. He shouldn't have been so bothered, but the sight of the other man had been doing strange things to him lately, making him act out of character. Cain leaned against a wall and only shrugged. "We can go if you want, but I've already wandered outside. I don't know that I want to go off walking anymore."

"We don't have to." He said smiling. "What would you like to do?" He knew what he would like to do. He didn't want to be the one to make all the suggestions or have all the ideas.

"I want to know what you do with your free time," Cain said with a small groan. "If I weren't here, what would you do? I think we should do what you want!"

"It varies. It all depends on how much free time I have. Sometimes I will read in the library, wander the gardens, if I have enough time I will go into the market place." He paused to think a moment. "Sometimes I just sit on the balcony enjoying the silence." He also would go flying if he had the time but he knew Cain wouldn't enjoy that so he doesn't mention it.

They were such tame and simple things, but they made Cain smile. "I wouldn't mind going to look at the gardens," he said. They could just sit amongst the plants, even enjoy the silence. A simple but pleasant way to spend the day.

"You let me know if you get hungry and we can have lunch." HE said offering him his hand. He honestly wasn't hungry himself, and he had been known to go long periods of time with out eating. He got that trait from his father.

Cain shook his head. "I'm not hungry. I'm not used to having so much food available to me," he said. This time, he took Kirin's hand. Instinct really, but he didn't want Kirin to be upset.

Kirin gave Cain's hand a light squeeze as they headed out. Soon they were in the gardens. Kirin enjoyed being here with Cain. He wanted nothing more then to stay like this forever, though he knew that would be impossible. Kirin just enjoyed the silence between them. You could hear the birds singing, and the wind blowing through the trees.

Cain watched the sky and the plants. He could hear birds and small animals, though he didn't bother trying to locate them with his eyes. That would ruin the mystery of beautiful ambient noise since he liked the unknown origins of the sounds. The gardens were lovely and he found himself smiling. "I feel like I could sit out here all day. It's so beautiful and calming," he said, still holding Kirin's hand.

"I feel the same way." Kirin said with a smile. "Would you like to see my favorite spot?" He asked as the two of them continued walking. He had not felt this relaxed in a very long time.

"Of course I would," Cain responded. Despite how he and Kirin were from very different worlds, they could easily agree. It was surprising, but wonderful at the same time. He was glad that they had come to the gardens instead of the market. "I can understand why you spend your free time here. Being king must be hectic. Here is so relaxing in contrast."

"I agree." Kirin said. He lead Cain towards a large weeping willow. Moving the branches aside he waits to let Cain go in first. Under the large branches is an amazing sight. There are several benches under it and the sunlight filters through the leaves of the tree.

Cain ducked under between the sweeping branches of the tree, not sure what to expect beyond them. His breath caught at the sight of sun dappled benches and soft ground. As if in a trance from the beauty, he moved to one of the benches and sat down. "This place is stunning. Just...stunning."

"I thought you would like it." He said going and sitting down next to him. "This has to be one of my favorite spots in the whole kingdom."

Cain chuckled. He could certainly understand why Kirin would say that. "I haven't seen much of the kingdom, but I don't doubt you. It's a secret sort of beauty. Reminds me of the small island a quick boat ride from the village I grew up in," he said with a wistful sigh.

"How far are you from home?" He asked touching Cain's leg gently. He was really curious about Cain's past. Though if he didn't want to talk he wouldn't force it.

Cain jumped slightly at Kirin's touch, then relaxed again. He was enjoying the peace too much to be bothered by anything. "Very far away. I've been traveling many months now since the last time I was home. I travel farther and farther away each time, trying to see something new and more grand."

"What does your family think about your wandering?" He asked gently. He did feel a bit bad for stopping his wandering, but he was glad Cain was here.

Cain chuckled softly to himself. That was the interest part of his travels. They had never been his idea in the first place. He did them entirely for others, though he did love the adventure and the newness as well as the smile on his mother's face whenever he returned home. "My mother is the one who encouraged me actually. The first time I left home, she asked me to visit the islands and then come back and tell her what I saw. She always regretted she had not traveled herself in her youth."

"Maybe she could visit you here sometime." He said with a smile. He leaned back tilting his head back letting the dappled sun shine on his face.

"That would be....impossible," Cain said quietly. He turned his attention back to the surroundings. They were peaceful. He wanted to feel peaceful, but for a second, emotions had welled up in him. He quickly tamped down on them. He hoped Kirin dropped the conversation. Cain didn't want to talk about this.

Kirin wanted to ask more, but he could tell Cain felt uncomfortable. He would drop it, for now. Though he did wonder if maybe he could take Cain and visit his home at some point. He just remained silent as they sat there. He could hear the birds singing.

The silence was too silent. It felt obvious to Cain that he had ruined the good atmosphere of their talk and though he didn't want to talk about his situation, he felt so bad for bad for leaving things in silence. He turned his head, pointedly looking at a green and orange speckled leaf rather than in Kirin's direction. "My mother's strength has been failing for a long time. At first it was just that it was difficult to walk distances...her knees you see. But it is worse every time I go home. Now...I'm sure she cannot stand at all," he said quietly. It was so rare for him to share private things like this. What would Kirin say? Cain kept staring at the leaf.
