"Probably," they agreed. "We'll be there."
"So when did you move?" Kaoru asked, to change the subject. "We haven't been to America yet." |
"The move was finalized in May," Liz said. "I had everything transferred over the summer so I could start with the fall term."
|
"Makes sense," Kaoru agreed. "I wouldn't have wanted to leave home, though."
"Why not?" Hikaru asked, leaning closer. "I would have gone with you, and I'm all you need." "Hikaru!" Kaoru blushed and looked away. |
It was all Liz could do not to choke on her tea. Then she got an idea.
"Well, I didn't want to leave home," she said, "but when I heard which designer my mother had gotten a partnership contract with, I just couldn't refuse!" She looked at them both through her lashes. "And I'm here now..." |
The twins exchanged looks and grinned. Oh, she even played. How wonderful.
"Well then, we'll have to take advantage of your time here," Hikaru purred, leaning closer to her. "We don't mind sharing," Kaoru added. |
"I think I'd like that," Liz said, playing along. "But I'd hate to come between brothers who are so... close."
|
"No woman can come between us," Kaoru said.
"Well, not for long," Hikaru said with a grin. "We'll always have each other." |
"Well now I don't know if I should be flattered that you think I might, or insulted that you think I can't," Liz said, grinning.
|
The twins grinned. Oh she was fun indeed.
"Go with both," Kaoru advised. "Or neither," Hikaru said with a grin. |
"Neither will do, I suppose," Liz said, feigning boredom. "Although I will be thoroughly disappointed if I don't get some more of this tea, this is the best jasmine I've had in a long time."
|
Kaoru grinned and served her more tea. "We get it specially imported," he said. "It's the highest quality you can get."
|
"It's fantastic," Liz said. "I always enjoy a good jasmine."
|
Kaoru grinned as he made note of that, making sure they still had enough tea for the three of them.

Meanwhile, Honey had noticed Lucy sitting by herself. Getting up, he went over to her.
"Hey," he said. "want to join me? I got this really yummy cake we can share!" |
Lucy blinked at the invitation. "Cake, huh?" she said with a little smile. "Well, I suppose I could have a little bit of cake, if it's okay with you."
|
Honey beamed and grabbed her hand, pulling her over to the table.
"My name is Mitsukini," he said, sitting down, "and that's Takashi. And thiiiiiiis," he grinned widely as he looked at the cake topped with strawberries, "is the yummy cake!" |
"Looks pretty good," Lucy agreed with a little grin. She'd noticed these two before, so she found herself rather amused. He really did eat cake every day that she'd seen. "Well, I'll let you go ahead and slice it." She leaned back in her seat a bit, unable to keep herself from grinning, just a bit.
|
Honey smiled brightly and sliced the cake, giving her a piece.
"Here!" |
"Thank you. It looks lovely." Lucy indulged herself for a moment, deciding what the cake was made of and how it had been made, before she took a bite. "It's very good. Do you know where it came from?"
|
"Tama-chan found a French bakery that makes the best cakes!" Honey said. "It came from there!"
|
"I see." Lucy smiled. "Well, I'm glad you're sharing with me. Thank you." She glanced at Mori. "Does he eat cake?"
|
"Not often," Honey said. "Taka-chan doesn't like cake much."
"Right," Mori added quietly. |
"Huh. Okay." Lucy smiled and took a sip of her tea, watching the two. "So I guess you two are good friends, then?"
|
Honey grinned.
"Yep!" he said. "Taka-chan's my best friend ever!" Mori just looked mildly amused at Honey. "Cousins," he said to Lucy. |
"Ah, I see." Lucy grinned. They didn't look at all alike, but they were still clearly close. And very amusing. "Maybe I should bring you a few samples from my favorite place to go sometime. They have an excellent selection of tea, as well."
