What is Lingdom? You decide!

This contest is now closed and I'll be going through entries to judge.

Please be patient while I go through the entries and I'll let you all know the results. :)

This is a contest about creativity. There will be prizes for my three favorite entries and depending on the number of entries I receive I may throw in some random participation or honorary mention prizes too.

So what is this about exactly? Basically it is your interpretation of the word 'Lingdom'. I am keen to see pretty much any form of response that you can come up with that is artistic and creative.

Types of art acceptable

traditional drawings/paintings

digital drawings/pixel art

3D art/computer aided design

craft pieces

photographs

food

creative writing (prose or poetry)

video clips

If you can think of any other formats that I haven't mentioned please ping me @ Ling; (without the space between @ and L) to ask if I'd accept it too.

Feel free to enter more than one category if you can't decide on just one. Just be aware that I won't let the same user win all three of the prizes to be fair to other contestants.

In Addition, Video clips and audio clips will need to be short, 5 min max in length.

Please PM all entries to me and please DO NOT post the entry in this thread. The reason for this is so that I can ensure the entries are original ideas/interpretations of 'Lingdom'.

I'm thinking of allowing the first prize winner to choose any of the top three prizes, second winner to choose from remaining two prizes and third to have the remaining prize...

FAQ

How long do contestants have to complete entries?
At this stage it is to be advised when the last day I'll accept entries will be, simply because I've only just set this contest up, I hope to gain lots of entries

EDIT: I've gotten a few entries now and as an approximate deadline I'll say end of January 2014 for now, only because I don't want to keep the contestants waiting for the outcome.

How many entries may I enter?
As many as you want in any of the categories or formats, but I'll only potentially pick maximum of one entry for one of the first three prizes, for fairness to other contestants.

I'm deliberately not choosing to add colour...I figure the contrast with black and white background is easier to read. But I'll change the font to bolder font, that I can and probably should do.

hummy, I was thinking maybe not necessarily ping friends, but maybe you could link in the random acts of kindness thread as a 'last page' post...so people will see it if they click the last page of the random acts of kindness thread. I only say that because RAK generates a lot of activity with lots of visitors who would probably not go to the front page and go straight for where the conversation is happening.

I suppose you could ping some more artistically inclined friends [yes] I'd appreciate that, please don't do the myfriends ping though, I know you're not the type who would, but I've heard that plenty of people would get annoyed by that.

Poet, if you can't decide you can enter multiple entries...I really should mention that in the second post...multiple entries in different categories is fine, but only one winning entry per user...I think that's fair.

Oh I see what you mean hummy...I think I only have 12 friends...on my friends list...I can think of a couple who are artistic...[:)]

About how long do we have?

I‘ve actually thought about a 'last day' for entries, but it's kind of like, I want lots of entries and I'm in no rush to sort of make decisions about who wins what. Considering I've only posted it up a few days ago, and I have not received any entries so far, presumably because either people think it's not interesting or as I hope is the case, lack of awareness of the competition's existence, I'm reluctant to set a last or due date for entries at this point.
