i caught an eel once and i ripped his lips off trying to get him off my hook
so i have never even tried eel, remembering that experience gags me
and that's what fish does to me, it gags me
some of it looks good and probably would be great for me
i just can't eat it
the albacore tuna fish is the best for me, but it's so expensive
i usually eat chicken of the sea in water
and i found this no drain tuna that i do like as well

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2014 07:00 PM

Strong flavor but it's completely different than fish. I'm not a fan of fish unless it's sushi.

hummy 02-03-2014 07:01 PM

so you like raw fish?

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2014 07:02 PM

Not big chunks, only the thin slices. I gag a bit if I get the big chunks.

hummy 02-03-2014 07:12 PM

the only sushi i tried was a tuna fish and cucumber one
the little shoppe that had the conveiyour belt of sushi was too cute to pass up

this was SOOOO much fun!

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2014 07:14 PM

I love those belts... they're awesome.
I think my favorite is the Eel Sushi, but the Cucumber sushi is tasty too... but so is really any sushi that's fresh...

hummy 02-03-2014 07:20 PM

i love the parfaits, too
they put fruit and corn flakes in them
so yummie and not as sweet as American parfaits

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2014 08:11 PM

Corn flakes? Like... the cereal?

hummy 02-03-2014 08:13 PM

yes, like the unsugared cereal
i was taken aback by it at first but i do it now myself
it gives you a bit of crunch and no sugar so it does really work
it is in the youtube toward the end of the video
Japanese parfait and giant parfaits!

The Wandering Poet 02-03-2014 08:30 PM

Oh I missed the video *watches* looks tasty but couldn't tell it had corn flakes in it.

Poet! Just to stop you nagging ;) I bought one of these:

http://static.eatwell101.com/wp-cont...ni-Chopper.jpg

Not tried it yet! But I have it, and the Oxo/Good Grips stuff is a well made and reliable brand, so it shouldn't fall apart the third time I use it, or anything dumb like that!

Chi 02-08-2014 05:25 PM

I love that brand. It's definitely reliable!

The Wandering Poet 02-08-2014 07:44 PM

Cool! I hope it helps jelly. I totally forgot about that thing.

jellysundae 02-09-2014 12:36 PM

Haha, you're talking me into spending money, and you forgot! [illgetu]

The Wandering Poet 02-09-2014 04:10 PM

Was it for onions perhaps?

I got groceries delivered today...I caved and bought bacon as it was half price, but I'm struggling to have any ideas about what to do with it [gonk] Having a brain that doesn't want to walk any more is frustrating. This is bacon damn it cortex, WTF is wrong with you! [illgetu]

I also have goat's cheese, those 2 things = sublime combination [drool]

I'm wanting a bacon sandwich now though. Does America embrace the bacon sarnie? To my mind it's most definitely a British food. Awesome breakfast: bacon sarnie and a mug of "builder's tea"!

I may have to get some other opinions, just to make sure I'm not alone on this.
@HIM_ROCK# BrotherOfDarkness:

Woah Jelly I'm sooo late on this xD
Mene has fallen below my radar a wee bit.

But omg sarnies, yes... I missed the bacon sandwich/roll so much in the US.
Sometimes they would have brittle streaky bacon with egg in a toasted muffin, which is frankly insulting.

I noticed that Subway UK does the bacon sandwich, but Subway US only does the eggy breakfast version.

jellysundae 02-16-2014 03:30 PM

SEE! You non-believers! Pearl know what it's about! [sup]

The Wandering Poet 02-16-2014 05:55 PM

People still go to subway?

Well, not really, but it's the only fast food place my town has... other than the McDonald's you drive to, and I'm not gonna bother driving to a McDonald's. >.>

We do have a very popular little bagel shop though. It's cheaper than subway and better. And yes, they do a hot ketchupy bacon bagel *o*

The Wandering Poet 02-17-2014 09:19 PM

Ketchup and bacon? That sounds odd...

Chi 02-17-2014 09:47 PM

Anyone familiar with a New England boiled dinner?

No. It's natural.

You know what's odd? Bacon and syrup. [cry]

@ Chi - can't say I am!

---------- Post added 02-18-2014 at 12:01 AM ----------

I've googled it now... I have to say from wikipedia it looks so boring it could be an English dish xD

The Wandering Poet 02-18-2014 01:05 AM

I like bacon and syrup... but it's very much so not my general preference unless I'm having pancakes... cause syrup gets on EVERYTHING

Chi 02-18-2014 01:08 AM

@Pearl
Bwahaha! Sometimes boring is tasty though. I suppose it doesn't get any plainer than "take ham, put in pot, cover with water... add veg later, done". xD

Ah... bacon and syrup is good, but I agree--pancakes make that work.

Pearl 02-18-2014 01:14 AM

Now I'm just thinking "hot ham water" from arrested development xD
