My handle is Asilit, which despite being picked from a random name generator and sounding good, is also a type of blaster abrasive. [:!:]

Anyway, I'm a 28 year old massage and physical therapy student. Sparing you a bunch of super boring details that I'll put on my profile later, the here and now is that I'm excited to try a new site after spending the last ten on one that's been going slowly downhill. ^^;;

You'll find loads of us are from Gaia too, though a number gravitated over here and never went back to Gaia, me being one of them. [ninja] Mene's gonna seem very different I expect. I still remember how different it seemed to me. Mainly, being completely dumbfounded, and delighted, at be able to post in the GD without getting flamed by some arsehole 14 year old xD Plus general glee at not having to pay anything to change your avie's appearance, that was such a joy!

Obviously the pace of life on here is a lot slower, but that does enable you to get to know people easier. :D

I think a lot of people see the end in sight for poor gaia...but the new administration brought it upon themselves, sadly. I was super excited to see other people that have already migrated here from there though. [heart]

It's not overly different as much as it is reminiscent of the earlier days, like in the sense of community I get here. Like the days of Go-Gaia and whatnot. xP Hehe, GD. As a CB'er there, we do like to poke fun at our fellow trash can over there. But yes. When that forum is considered by many to be the singular best forum left....it may be time to move on. xD The lot of you that migrated were smarter and jumped ship earlier, hehe.

@Asilit- Totally. You can go on and on about the things that went down hill on that place. I've been a member on there for 7 years..
My sister was one of the mods on there and she eventually gave up and came to this place, which is why I'm also here. ^^;

That was also a good year....at least I remember it being that way. The halloween events there were always the highlights. x3 I miss the Sentinel v. Overseer war though.

OOooo though, mod mod. I see a lot of them retired there and just as discontent....if they haven't moved on that is.

To me, things were....okay, up until just something like a month or two ago, when they rolled out with this "Club Verge" and having flash cash shop item sales. o.O

Shows you how much I was paying attention though. [lol]

@Asilit- I honestly disappeared for a year or two and just logged on the other day to check in and saw that it was hell frozen over. Even the local addicts there tell me that it's not even worth it -- so I knew it was bad. My sister strolled into my room and saw me on gaia and told me to try out this place. C:

Oh, Gaia... I haven't been over there in ages. Once the sponsored items started rolling in, I ended up rolling out (not because of the items themselves, but more because of the quality of the conversations). Got dragged over here by FidelisRaor: while I was in college, and the rest is history. Haven't really felt the need to pop back over to Gaia. Tried once and came scuttling back over to the safety of Mene about 10 minutes in. >.<

Turns out I don't do well around large numbers of small, egotistical children who appear to have the grammar skills of a squirrel seizing on a keyboard...but that may just be the English major in me...

@Seri- Couldn't have said it better myself. I think the ego thing has been around since 2009 though.. which brings me back to why I maybe created an account here on mene. It's turned into a money site. All of their items that everyone wants you have to buy with actual money. Not worth it. And because of some of the cash shop items, the market place completely crashed. People who actually spend time to save up their gg get totally destroyed by inflation. Smh. ._.

Much as I really couldn't care less about Gaia any more, I'm still sad that I've lost my main account :( My password no longer works, and the email linked to that account no longer exists, and I know better than to bother contacting anyone on there about it, because nothing will get done >.>

Hahaha. good to see that peeps are chill enough to poke fun and not take it seriously. I mean look it at, making fun and not flaming. It's awesome!! ;)

This is the type of atmosphere I'm used to on a daily basis outside of the interwebz so it's really refreshing. :)
