"Phil," Clint promptly replied. "There were no other handlers. Only ever Phil." He grinned. "Congrats, you're the first non-Coulson handler we've ever had."

Autumn nodded.

"We'll straighten everything out," she said. "Wanda can take care of herself, I'm sure we'll find her alright."

"Great, like those aren't astronomically huge shoes," she grumbled. "I know you guys had at least one interim handler. What did he do wrong?"

"She'd better be alright," Pietro said quietly. Because someone was going to pay if his sister was hurt.

"Who, Sitwell?" Clint asked. He waved a hand. "Sitwell wasn't around long enough to count, and besides, he's kinda like Phil anyways."

"I'm sure she will be," Autumn said. "We'll find her."

Alexis shook her head a bit and paused when Strange pushed open a door, having apparently found the source of the magic. She had her gun out in an instant.

Pietro focused his attention ahead and shifted a bit so he could get up there if he needed to, his eyes narrowing.

Autumn pulled out her gun as well, inching forward.

"Oh, too bad, you made it all the way here," a woman's voice called from inside. "Pity, I thought it would take longer. Or that you'd freeze before you made it."

"Is that what you were hoping for?" Strange asked as he moved inside. "With a spell that wild, I wasn't sure what you were hoping to achieve." He made room for the others.

Alexis stayed outside the room, looking for other signs of movement or life, trying to cover everyone else. Just in case.

"The spell was just the means to the end," the woman replied. She smiled. "And I have what I want now." She looked down, where Thor's head was cradled in her lap. He looked like he was unconscious.

"Ah, I see." Strange shook his head. "This won't make him want you, you know. Especially since the power is so obviously not yours. I wonder how much longer you will be able to hold this spell?" He looked at her, looking for any kind of weaknesses, in her or in the spell.

"It will work," the woman said, although her smile disappeared. "It will. And when it does, I will be holding the leash of one of the most powerful men in the realms."

"You don't know what you're doing. The power is already starting to turn back on itself." Strange smiled slowly. "We really weren't supposed to get this close, were we? But your traps and such have failed, caved in, burned themselves out."

"No," the woman said. "It will work. I was assured it would work!"

"You were assured?" Strange's gaze sharpened. "And who, exactly, assured you? Not the one from whom you stole the energy. Someone else."

"All that matters is that it will work," the woman said. "And when it does I will make you rue the day you ever thought to cross me."

"But you seem to have forgotten one thing in your plotting," Strange said quietly. "We won't let you."

Tony got the power back on just then, grinning when one of his suits came to assist them, both repulsors aimed at the woman on the couch.

The woman's eyes were wild as she glared at them.

"I won't have this taken away from me," she said as she moved Thor's head from her lap and got up. Her hands began to glow a sickly green as she gathered her own magic.

None of the group had time to do anything more than tense for a fight. Wanda dropped down seemingly out of nowhere, landing on the witch and hitting her, hard enough that her head bounced off the floor. And then she hit her again for good measure.

And then she stood, her eyes a little wild, magic crackling around her. Pietro walked over to her swiftly and grabbed her, both to reassure himself that she was fine and to help her calm down.

Autumn blinked a bit.

"Welcome to the party, Wanda," she said after a moment. Cautiously, she went over to the woman on the floor to make sure she was really unconscious.

"I thought perhaps you could use the help," Wanda said once Pietro let go of her.

"Alright, so why isn't the spell releasing now?" Alexis asked, glancing around.

"Because that's not all of it. If I'm not mistaken, there is at least one other person in this tower controlling the spell." Strange looked around, his eyes narrowed.

Wanda nodded.

"There is," she said. "I tried to release the spell on my own, but it was too strong for just myself. So I came to get some help."

Strange nodded. "Where is the center of the spell now?" he asked Wanda. It would be easier to dismantle from the center, especially if they didn't want the magic to backlash and potentially destroy them too.

"The top floor," Wanda said, gesturing upwards. "It is heavily warded."

Strange nodded. "It would be easier if we had a distraction so we can get in." He looked at the other assembled superheroes.

"What, you want us to go be a distraction for you two?" Tony grumbled.

"You gotta admit, Tony, you and that suit of yours are a pretty good distraction," Clint joked as he checked his arrows briefly.

"Hey, I'm good with being a distraction," Spidey said. "I'm a good distraction."

Alexis looked at the group before she sighed. "Alright, looks like that's what's going to happen. One of you should stay with Strange and Wanda in case they need help."

"I'll stay," Pietro said, draping his arm over his sister.

"Okay. Autumn, you want to stick with these three and I'll go with the other group?"

Autumn nodded.

"Sure," she said. "Sounds like as good a plan as any." She moved over to Pietro, Wanda, and Strange, her sidearm ready.
