Crystal snorted but didn't say anything else, instead glancing over at the house when she heard the general chaos that usually signaled dinner.
"Thinkin' of headin' back, chere?" Remy asked, glancing towards the mansion as well.
"No, not yet. I'm not very hungry tonight." Crystal shrugged and kept walking. "Feel free to head back, though, you don't need to stay out here."
"Nowhere else pressin' to be," Remy said, keeping pace with her. "Much worse things than walkin' with a pretty girl on a nice night, non?"
Crystal snorted. "Oh, I don't know," she teased. "I suppose that depends on the disposition of the girl. Wouldn't want to be walking with a pretty murderess would you?"
"Somethin' you're not sharin'?" Remy teased back. "You happen t' be a very lovely lady, after all."
Crystal grinned. "No murders in my past that I'm aware of," she said. "However tempting it's been from time to time."
"Very familiar feelin' indeed, chere," Remy agreed. "There's been many a man that Gambit's wanted to rough up some."
"Unfortunately it's usually not worth it, for me anyway." Crystal shot him a bit of a grin. "Although that doesn't always stop me."
Remy grinned.
"Lady after Gambit's own heart," he said. |
Crystal shook her head a bit with a snort.
"Best be careful, then." |
Remy just grinned flirtatiously at her.
"Always did have a bit of a taste for danger," he said. |
That got Crystal to snort.
"I do believe that," she said, her voice dry. But she grinned at him. |
Remy winked at her. He definitely didn't mind flirting with her, not at all. And she seemed to be giving as good as she got, which was even better.
"Can hardly blame a man, chere," he pointed out. "Wi' such a lovely lady as a companion, a little danger only adds spice." |
Crystal grinned, showing teeth. "Oh, I'm sure I can think of some things to add some spice."
"Is that a fact?" Remy replied, grinning as well. "And what did y' have in mind, chere?"
"You've clearly never been around when I'm actually cooking," Crystal said, shooting him another flirty grin. "And I don't just mean cookies."
"Stories have been told," Remy replied. "Quickest way to a man's heart and all." He grinned. "And the boys chatter." And from what he heard from Alex and Darwin, Crystal's cooking was phenomenal.
Crystal chuckled. "That's because they're star-struck," she said with confidence she didn't feel. "Besides, as you mentioned, quickest way to a man's heart..." She grinned and changed direction, intentionally taunting him a bit.
"Could be taken as cruel, teasin' a man that way," Remy said as he followed her.
"Me? Cruel? Never." Crystal grinned. Her mood had certainly improved. And now she was just playing with him.
"Is that so?" Remy asked, teasing. "Mayhaps we should head inside, then, chere, so you can prove your claims."
"I would be happy to," Crystal said with a grin. "Just need to figure out what I've got in the fridge." She turned back towards the house, which meant she'd have to walk past Remy.
"Well, then, lead the way, chere," Remy said with a grand gesture towards the house. When she walked past him, he turned on one foot and followed her.
Crystal headed straight into the kitchen, starting to rifle through the fridge and pull out ingredients. Time to get to work, then.
