"Yeah," Crystal said, rubbing her hands against her legs. "I'm okay. Kind of pissed." She looked at Paige.
"And I'm really not surprised you don't like that stuff, it's meant to box in mutations." She made a face. |
"It's bad," Paige agreed. "Made me feel like I wanted to be sick."
|
"Yeah." Crystal looked briefly ill herself before she shook herself. "Can we get out of here now?"
|
Paige nodded.
"Come on, we should stick close to Charles and Erik," she said. Remy nodded as well and stayed near the girls. He figured it couldn't hurt to act as their backup, since Charles and Erik were preoccupied with breaking open more rooms. |
Crystal nodded, keeping her hands stuffed in her pockets. She still felt all odd and off-kilter, but she was just hoping it would go away once they were outside.
Charles and Erik finally finished breaking open all the cells and ushered everyone outside. |
Remy helped herd the other mutants outside, keeping an eye out for any guards. It was odd that they hadn't run into any others so far, and it made him a bit nervous.
|
That was in part because the guards had blocked off the entry way, although when they saw that all the mutants were loose they looked pale. Erik grinned, more than ready to squish whoever got in his way.
|
Remy got in front of the girls, a few odds and ends in his hands crackling with pink energy as he watched the guards warily. He still had no idea where his cards were, so he was making do with whatever he could find.
Paige touched the wall, absorbing enough of the brick to protect herself if things got ugly. |
Two or three of the guards broke and ran, and the rest of them aimed guns at the mutants. Erik ripped their guns away and turned them back on the guards. The only reason they didn't end up dead was Charles standing next to Erik, who briefly made a face and just corralled all the guards outside in a circle to keep an eye on them.
