"I see," Ezio said. He studied her for a moment. "I am about to head out to check the area. If you would like to join me, I will be dropping in on Leo afterwards."
Harper nodded. "Alright," she agreed. "Just let me know when you're ready to go." She managed a little smile.
"Soon," Ezio said. "Make sure you're prepared." With that, he finished his cold breakfast and went to finish dressing.
Harper snorted quietly at him but made sure she was ready to go when he was. At least she'd have something to do.
Once he was armed and ready to go, Ezio nodded to Harper.
"Stay sharp," he said as he climbed up onto the roof. With that, he set off across the rooftops, starting his circuit around the city. Time to clear out any lingering Templars. |
Harper stayed with him, though she gave him enough room to work and be unimpeded. She di keep her eyes peeled, though, just in case they came across any Templars.
Ezio did have to take care of a few small pockets of hidden Templars, but not as many as he'd anticipated, which was in and of itself a little unsettling. However, he couldn't search the entire city top to bottom, so he handled the ones he found and then decided he could head to Leo's workshop.
Harper just followed him quietly. She didn't see any other Templars around, which was both good and bad. But she let Ezio call the shots and just followed him. She did, however, perk up a bit when she realized they were heading towards Leonardo's workshop.
Ezio grinned just slightly when he saw her perk up.
"Leo should be awake by now," he said. "Likely bossing around his assistants." |
Harper snorted. "His poor assistants," she said with a grin. "They probably had no idea what to expect when he hired them."
"I imagine not," Ezio agreed. He snickered. "Leo does love bossing them around, though."
"Oh yes." Harper grinned. "Fortunately he doesn't try bossing us around too often."
"He did try, when I first met him," Ezio said dryly. He rolled his eyes and gave a fond sort of smile.
Harper snickered. "And then he learned that's about as useful as telling a wall to move," she said with a teasing grin.
Ezio snorted.
"Indeed," he said. He slowed down as he approached the rooftop of Leo's workshop. He could just barely hear the sounds of working from inside. "Ah, I was right, Leo is already up." |
Harper nodded and motioned for him to go first. Leo was his friend, after all. Although she was getting to that point with Leo rather quickly as well.
Ezio nodded and opened the slylight quietly. He took great pleasure in scaring the daylights out of the assistants, sometimes. He dropped down into the workshop, smirking a bit when one of the assistants shrieked.
Leo turned to look at the sudden noise and beamed when he saw Ezio. "Ezio! It's been too long, my friend." He walked over to give him a hug.
Harper was snickering as she dropped down as well, giving the same poor assistant another minor heart attack. At least the assistant didn't shriek this time. |
"Leo, it's been four days," Ezio said, grinning and returning the hug. "Surely you cannot have missed me that much."
"You doubt me, my friend?" Leo smiled, though, to show he was teasing. "And you brought Harper this time."
Harper smiled and waved a little. "Hi." |
"I noticed you enjoy her company," Ezio said with a shrug. "And she yours. How could I not bring her along?"
Leo smiled knowing at him but didn't push. Instead he went to go usher Harper further inside, since she was still busy looking at all the new things he'd added since last time.
Ezio just smiled a bit when Leo took over looking after Harper. Yes, this had been a good idea. He went to wander around the workshop, this time not actively trying to scare the daylights out of the assistants. If he did, well, it wasn't his fault they weren't paying attention.
It didn't take long for Harper to end up telling Leo what had happened. He had noticed right off that something was different about it.
"And it... I dunno, it kind of absorbed into me?" she finished, watching for his reaction. "It's weird. It still feels... almost not quite settled in yet. I can still feel it." She made a face. |
"I see," Leo said, studying her. "You don't look any different, on the outside. But I trust you when you say you feel different. Ezio does not tell me much about his work, but from what I understand, these Pieces of Eden, you called them? They are very powerful artifacts. They can likely do things that we can only dream of."
