It should be interesting, at least," Sesshomaru agreed. Then he shrugged. "We shall see how it goes."
|
Hisoka nodded.
"Indeed," he said. "It should be interesting." |
The next morning found the girls already at work, with some of the stuff removed from the storage room, although the sorting hadn't yet started.
Sesshomaru arrived promptly at 9 and nodded a bit. Clients he wouldn't have to motivate for once. |
Willow was elbow-deep in mildewed reams of paper, sleeves rolled up and gloves on. She was just cramming it all into trash bags.
Hisoka watched in approval. He always appreciated clients who took the initiative. |
Sesshomaru nodded his approval, watching Raven bring out more things. For now, it would be sufficient to separate the unusable documents from the salvageable ones. So he started on that.
|
Hisoka did the same, starting on another area of the storage room. The women hadn't been lying; the room was in bad shape.
|
It took the better part of the morning, but between the three of them, they got some of the room uncovered, and they had several trash bags, which Raven was now taking out.
Sesshomaru looked at the documents that had survived. "Do you know what information is in those?" he asked Willow. |
"No," Willow said scanning the top sheet. "Looks like they're from a bit before my time here."
|
Sesshomaru nodded. "Form a pile of those to be sorted," he said. "We will get boxes tomorrow for whatever is still relevant and needs to be kept."
|
Willow nodded and did so, setting the salvaged documents aside.
"It's starting to get better," she said, looking around the storage room. |
"Progress is being made," Sesshomaru agreed. "However, it will likely take several days to unearth everything, and several more to go through the documents and find a new place to store them."
|
Willow nodded. She expected the timetable to be about like that.
"I don't know how it was allowed to get this bad," she said, sighing. |
Sesshomaru shrugged. He didn't have an explanation, certainly.
Raven, meanwhile, had unearthed actual boxes and was starting to haul those out carefully. |
Hisoka helped with the boxes, delicately extricating them from their resting places and pulling them into the cleared space. He opened them carefully, mindful of mold and other unpleasant things.
|
Raven paused long enough to investigate and wrinkled her nose a bit at the old awards and trophies, seemingly the belongings of someone's office many years ago.
"Most of that will probably be trash," she said quietly. |
Hisoka nodded, going through the rest of the box just to make sure nothing was missed. Once he was sure there was nothing important in the box, he threw the contents into the trash and the cardboard into recycling.
|
Raven followed his example, and pretty soon the trash was full, as was the recycling. So she went to go make yet another trip down to the bins out back.
|
After a little while, Hisoka stopped.
"I think the progress is sufficient for today," he said softly. |
Raven nodded and stepped back as well.
"Well, at least it's progress." |
Hisoka nodded.
"It is," he agreed. |
Raven nodded and stretched, her eyes closing briefly before she looked over to check on Willow.
|
Willow was sorting through some documents, trying to see if any of them were still important. Some were; others, not so much.
|
Sesshomaru looked at her and stood.
"I think that is enough for today," he said. "We will continue tomorrow." |
Willow blinked and looked over at him.
"Alright," she said, nodding and setting the documents aside. "Thanks for helping us out." |
Sesshomaru nodded. He found he was rather pleased with the progress made so far; it was certainly much better than most of their clients.
