Hisoka waited by the door once he was finished cleaning up.
"Ready to go, my lord?" he asked once Sesshoumaru was done. |
Sesshomaru nodded and left, heading back towards the manor for the rest of the day.
"It's rather refreshing to have such helpful clients." |
"Indeed," Hisoka agreed. "It's rare we come across any like this."
Sesshomaru hummed his agreement. "Perhaps if progress continues this quickly at the end of the week we can find some sort of reward for them?"
"That seems to be a good course of action," Hisoka agreed. "I think they deserve a reward for their progress. It really has been exceptional."
"Indeed." The problem was, he wasn't entirely sure what to get them as a reward. He knew he had to get some new filing cabinets and such, but that wasn't a reward, that was a necessity. "Any ideas?"
"I think we should observe them a little longer before deciding on a reward," Hisoka said. They were dealing with a professional environment rather than a personal one, after all, so there were some restrictions on what was considered an appropriate reward.
Sesshomaru nodded his agreement of that, content to wait a bit and figure out what would be an appropriate reward.
It took Hisoka a couple of days to think of an appropriate way to reward Raven for her hard work. He did, however, settle on a reward, and he came in one morning and left a small package of sweets on her desk with a hand-written note on them.
For your hard work. |
That same day, Sesshomaru had shelving units, already assembled, delivered to their office. That would make things go along faster.
He'd also settled (fairly safely, he figured) on getting Willow a little box of chocolates, having left a note tucked in under the ribbon: Good progress. Take a day to relax. Raven found her sweets and blinked, sniffing curiously. She knew who they were from; she had memorized Hisoka's scent already. |
Willow paused when she saw the chocolates. She knew Sesshoumaru's handwriting by now, and the chocolates surprised her. She hasn't expected anything like that.
Raven peeked over at Willow, saw she had chocolates, and relaxed a bit. Okay, so it wasn't just her, it was a sort of reward for work well done. She plucked out one of the sweets from her bag with a little grin.
Willow had the same idea as Raven and glanced over. When she saw that Raven had some candy as well, she tentatively opened her box of chocolates and popped one into her mouth.
Raven quite happily munched on her sweet as she did a bit of organizing on her desk. She figured she could take her time a bit today, after all.
Willow occasionally indulged in her chocolates throughout the day, a bit glad to have a day of just not cleaning. It was nice to have the break.
Raven also relaxed through the day, rather glad to be getting some of her normal work done rather than just the cleaning. Even she could only take so much.
Willow was able to get quite a bit done throughout the day, enough so that she shut down her computer a little early.
"I think I'm done for now," she said, looking over at Raven. "You?" |
Raven nodded, finished typing up her last e-mail of the day, and shut down her computer as well.
"Thankfully, yes. I didn't realize I'd fall behind doing the cleaning work as well, I'll have to work on that." |
"I knew I would fall behind, I just didn't think I would fall so behind," Willow said as she packed her things. She slipped the box of chocolates gently into her bag.
Raven nodded. "So, shall we go find some dinner?" she asked, putting her sweets away (with a little reluctance).
Willow nodded.
"Sure," she said. "Little place on the corner?" |
"Sure, sounds good." Raven grinned and motioned for her to lead the way, grabbing her bag.
Willow grabbed her bag as well and headed for the door.
"So what do you think about them?" she asked as they went outside. "The two helping us with the storage room." |
"Nice enough," Raven said with a shrug. "I prefer the cat over the dog, but that's natural. Neither of them are very talkative, which is fine, since we're just working."
Willow nodded.
"It's a little unnerving, sometimes, being the most fragile one in the room," she said. "Feels kind of weird." |
