'its the dream again', Yukina thought as she walked in a dark woods, she wa following a group of people who were chanting Kira....Kira over and over again. They were all wearing hooded cloaks, she could here the sound of a babby crying,she saw a light ,it was fire...no candels burning, she ran towards it then she was pulled out of the deamby the sound of her alarm clock.Yukina sighed as she reached over hitting the off switch and sat up."ugh",she grumbeled rubbing her head. She the got out of bed and did her normalmornng rutine , oncedressed in he officer uniformshe grabbed her bag that had a change of clothse in it and headed out the door,grabbing an apple on the way out."an apple a day keeps the shinigami away",she said happily taking a bite. Then hopping into her car she drove to the department and went in.

Yoake Lawliet was having a bad day.
She may have two PhDs and a Masters, but being 21 nobody took her seriously. So here she was, applying for a teaching job at a university. She was sitting in the chair in her nicest suit--crisply pressed trousers, shiny black pumps, a dark green turtleneck, and black blazer. But, apparently, the interviewer just couldn't believe that she was a genius at twenty-one, and probably with a higher IQ than him. Of course, she wasn't crazy enough to tell him that to his face. "So, let me get this straight; You're twenty-one years old, had graduated from Oxford at age thirteen, had your first PhD by fifteen, your second by sixteen, and your Masters in chemistry by eighteen." He tapped her resume. "Is this a prank? Or are you falsifying your age to deny that you're growing up?" Yoake took a calming breath. Remember what mum taught you. Don't drop-kick the stupid person, especially if said stupid person is the university president and possible boss. "It's not a joke, and I'm not faking my age to keep from getting older." She said evenly. "Have you ever heard of child geniuses?" "Yes, and most of them don't turn out to be any smarter than any other average person." The university president said. "Now, you're the same age as most undergrads. How do you expect to handle graduate students?" Yoake smiled. "I have my ways." She said. "When I was getting my PhD in particle physics at Oxford I worked as a TA. Not many of those undergrads took me seriously, seeing as I was only fourteen at the time. I won them over, though." And threw pieces of chalk at the really dumb ones. |
Yukina sighed as she sat at her desk then went into her desk pulling out a bag of chocolate chip teaddy bear cookies."ahhh hello my preshous",she said and started eating some as she logged in to her computer. "wow hard to believe that its been 20 years to the day that the Kira case ended",she said softly.Not many people talked about the Kira/Light Yagami case, it was something everyone tried to forget it ever happened.But part of her believed that things were better with Kira.'god we need more help in here",she said looking tothe papper work.

As the interview continued, Yoake swore she was about to go crazy. When it was finally over, she all but sighed in relief. At last, she thought as she made her way to her car. It was a mini, and she loved the old, beat-up thing. "Lunch, here I come." She said, as she turned the key in the ignition.

Yukina sighed finishing her paper work she looked to the clock."yay lunch!",she said jumping up and rushed out,heading for the dinner she loved oh so much.

Yoake paused in the parking lot for a few moments when she'd gotten to her usual stop and turned her car off. She rested her head on the headrest for several long moments and closed her eyes. Oh. My. Goddess. Today has been such a goddamn pain in my ass. She thought. Oh, how I wish I could get along without having to get a real job...but if I don't have something to do I'll lose my mind and end up blowing something up, which is illegal, and I really like not being a felon.
Okay, so she had a few things on her juvenile record...but that had been sealed once she turned eighteen. Most of it had only been stuff like staying out too late, and maybe there was one little incident where she torched an abandoned warehouse, but that hadn't been intentional anyway. Especially since she had been the one in the hospital with the most injuries. Gods, growing back her hair had been such a friggin' nightmare.... Yoake's eyes snapped open. She flipped her head around so sharply she nearly got whiplash, but saw nothing. That's odd, I could have sworn... She shook her head. "You're just paranoid. There's no such thing as ESP." |
As she sat theer Hiro came out of hideng. He had been watching her for a small while. He knew WHO shoe was. He went to her window and knocked quitelt on it. Haveing asmileon his face and helt a tockobod in his hand.(L.'s famous creation) He waved to her happily.
Yukina straeached as she got out of the car,she blinked seeng Hiro at some girls truck.He was a new rookie in thier department. They were looking for new staff members and he was in charge of finding people."guess he must be onto something",she said going in andwent to her booth. |
Yoake looked to where the tapping came from, and very promptly was scared out of her skin. "HOLYFUCKINGSHIT!!!! What the FUCK are you doing there?!" She near-screamed. "And what the HELL are you thinking, following me?! STALKER!"

"Couldn't you ask for my help without stalking me?" Yoake asked. She saw the sweets that the young man had in his hand. "Is that...tokobod?" Her stomach growled in response.

"Gimme!" Yoake said, grabbing the tokobon. "Oh, right, you needed help. And how did you know to ask me? And what do you cops need help with?"

"Um, okay then." Yoake said, opening her door. "Guess I'd better meet this person, then. How did you guys find out where I was, anyway?"

Hiro smiled."Miss Yukina is an awesome computer hacker".,he said heading inside and smiled atg Yukina who had files taking up a table while she munched on a apple.

This detective hacked my computer?! Yoake thought, stunned. Looks like I've got to upgrade my security system. She must be something. "I'm presuming you're the detective this...young man (pervert) wanted me to meet?" Yoake said, coming right up to the other woman.

Yukina jumped and looked up."um",she then smiled."yep i guess I am",she then looked to Hiro who was giving a cheezy grin."please sit",she said happily.

"So." Yoake said, plopping down. "You hacked my computer. And, since you know where I live, why couldn't you just come yourself rather than sending this creepy stalker?" She pointed her thumb at Hiro.

Yukina looked to Hiro then back to her sighing."belive me that was the plan",she said softly.

"And why didn't that go through?" Yoake asked.

Yukina pointed to Hiro."because for a genius, he is and idiot",she said with a tired sigh.
