"Do you prefer waffles or pancakes?" Doreen asked, looking over at him.
"I am... unsure," Thor said, looking at the foods. "I am unfamiliar with such things."
"Right." Doreen got up and fixed a waffle for him before she made a few crepes with different fillings. "Go ahead and try those."
Thor examined the two breakfast foods. One of them looked very delicate, and he was almost afraid to try to pick it up. It very nearly fell apart under his fork, but it was rather tasty, he had to admit. The other was sturdier, and the exterior had a pleasant crunch to it. He definitely liked that one more. The first, though... He couldn't help but think his brother would enjoy it.
Doreen still had plenty of both left over, so she made sure everyone was well fed before she looked at Thor.
"Need anything for our guest?" she asked quietly while the others were conversing so they wouldn't overhear. |
"If it is not too much trouble," Thor replied. "I would be grateful."
Doreen nodded and made up a plate for Loki as well. "There you are," she said quietly. "Let me know if there's anything else either of you need."
"My thanks," Thor said. "You've been kinder than we deserve, truly."
"Everyone deserves kindness," Doreen said quietly. "Go on, go make sure he's fine." She smiled and patted his shoulder before she started on dishes.
Thor watched her for a moment and then nodded. He took the plate with him, down to his brother.

The girls didn't attend the news conference later that day, not publicly. They did stand back out of sight and watch the whole thing, though.
Tony was more than happy to tell the press that the girls were legit, and then tell them where they could stick their nosy, personal questions. |
Laurel was catching the whole press conference on her cell phone, and she knew it was being streamed live online. She'd put up a link to the stream on the blog before the whole thing had started.
"He really is the best choice for these things," she murmured to Doreen. |
"He is. He's had so much practice he knows how to handle them." Doreen shook her head a bit. "We owe him something. Dunno what yet."
"I'll keep an eye out," Laurel said, nodding. "Though I have no idea what to get for the guy who could buy half the world."
"Something small, maybe, something he'd enjoy. Not alcohol, he goes through that too quickly and he can buy his own. Something more novelty, maybe, you're good at finding novelty gifts." Doreen grinned.
Laurel grinned.
"Well, I'll need a starting point," she said. "Mug? Shirt? What do you think?" |
"T-shirt, maybe, or a mug. Either one would be good. Or if you find something fun we can put on the counter or in his lab that would work too, a desk ornament or something." Dori grinned.
"I'll see what I can find," Laurel said. "I'm sure there's something out there he would appreciate."
"You'll find something," Doreen agreed with a grin. "Looks like they're just about done now."
"Yup." Laurel stopped the recording on her phone and uploaded it to the blog, for those who had missed the live stream. "Hopefully people will stop trolling us as much now."
"That would be nice," Doreen agreed. "I doubt we'll be left alone, but not having to deal with trolls as much will be nice."
"Yeah, the trolls won't ever disappear completely," Laurel said, nodding. "I just hope they thin out some."
Doreen nodded her agreement and watched as they trooped back inside. Steve still looked pensive, and he headed down to the gym.
"Think something's on his mind?" Doreen asked, looking at Laurel and then nodding after the captain. |
"Looks like," Laurel said. She watched him head downstairs and, after a few minutes of debating with herself, followed him.
Steve was still warming up, taking his time stretching out a bit and setting up a punching bag. He was still feeling oddly restless after that press conference.
