Clint snickered. "It's not enough prep," he said with a grin.

"There is no amount of preparation for Tony Stark, especially not him on a bender or without sleep for more than three days," Natasha said, her voice dry.

"Yeah, I thought the half-chapter sounded a bit... sparse," Laurel said, suppressing giggles. "Considering some of the stuff that makes the internet, at least."

"And that's just what makes the internet," Clint agreed. "Now that you've lived here a few weeks, do you think there's any preparation for all the craziness?"

"Not without massive amounts of drugs in truly impressive dosages," Laurel replied. "Probably why we were just thrown in headfirst."

"It seemed to work best," Clint agreed, sounding far too much like Coulson. Then he grinned. "That's the theory, anyway."

Laurel snorted. Oh yes, those were definitely Coulson's words.

"Well, we haven't run screaming yet," she said. "So I guess it was alright."

"For you two." Clint grinned when the first batch of pancakes hit the table, and he dropped down to snag a few.

Laurel also went over to claim a few pancakes, and then retreated to the table with her plate. She prodded the coffee machine one more time on her way over, trying to get more coffee from it.

Doreen just snickered and kept making pancakes as people got up and came in to get them. She also set aside a plate for Loki.

Thor noticed that there was a plate set aside when he finally wandered in. Darcy was tucked under one arm; literally, his arm was around her waist and her arms and legs dangled. She didn't seem upset about it, though, and scrambled for some breakfast when he deposited her at the table. Without a word, Thor gathered both his plate and Loki's and nodded to Doreen in thanks.

Doreen smiled a bit and nodded, going back to fixing pancakes. Because it took approximately ten billion to feed the Avengers plus PR team plus minion.

Thor took the plates down to Loki's door and knocked, carefully balancing one plate on his arm as he did so.

"Brother?" he called cautiously.

Loki was sprawled out on a couch he'd dragged in front of a window, absorbing the morning sun. He did wave a hand to open the door and let Thor in, though.

Thor tactfully ignored the small display of magic and stepped inside. He couldn't help a small smile when he saw his brother basking.

"Breakfast," he said, setting down Loki's plate.

"What are those?" Loki blinked at them. Pancakes clearly didn't exist on Asgard, at least not like that.

"A delicacy referred to as 'pancakes'," Thor replied. "My comrades are all fond of them, and the Lady Doreen was preparing them this morning."

"Ah." Loki took his plate, sniffing them before taking a bite. He chewed carefully before nodding his approval. "They are tasty enough."

"Indeed," Thor replied as he worked on his own breakfast. He studied his brother for a moment. "I never understood why it is you enjoy basking in the sun so often," he commented.

Loki looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "It's nice," he answered. "Relaxing. Quiet." He gave his brother a bit of an amused look. "Things you rarely are."

Thor couldn't help but chuckle.

"Indeed," he said. "You are right about that."

Loki smirked faintly but didn't say anything else, instead just relaxing and enjoying the temporary peace.

Thor enjoyed the momentary peace as well. If he tried, he could almost imagine that nothing had changed between them, that things could go back as they were.

Although Loki wouldn't admit it, he could almost imagine the same thing. It did have its appeal, after all. He didn't enjoy being locked up.

But the peace could only last as long as breakfast.

Thor did take his time with breakfast, having realized the same thing. Unfortunately, it couldn't be drawn out forever, and he eventually stood up again and gathered up the plates.

"Let me know if there is anything else I might get you, brother," he said.

Instead of his normal scathing reply, Loki just nodded and watched his brother leave quietly. Well, he supposed things could be worse.
