"Ah the Falcon. That was a fun project. Well, I'm pretty sure it was fun, I don't remember too much of it, that was one of my engineering binges." Tony grinned. "I've been thinking about doing a bit of a redesign on those."

"Oh you designed them?" Sam asked. He grinned. "Thanks for that. That thing let me help a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten any help."

"That was the point." Tony brightened. "Hey, actually, you've used them extensively, let's work. Jarvis, bring up the blueprints." He strolled over to the blueprints that popped up, examining them.

Sam blinked.

"Just like that?" he asked. "Really?"

"Yes, get over here and tell me what needs tweaking." Tony grinned and flicked his fingers, twisting the design and taking another look at it.

Sam blinked again, and then grinned and went over to look at the blueprints.

"Hey, Cap," he called, "remember I said to take a look at the EXO-7 specs? Come take a look."

Steve looked at the blueprints and blinked. "What am I looking at?" he asked cautiously.

"I told you I was pararescue," Sam said, grinning. "This is how I did it. The EXO-7 Falcon. My own personal pair of wings. I was able to be in where aircraft couldn't and help people who otherwise wouldn't have gotten help."

Steve looked at him for a moment as if reevaluating him. "You used that to get in and out?" He shook his head slowly. "Okay, I was wrong about you being a pilot."

"Nobody's ever looking for one guy with a set of wings," Sam pointed out. He grinned. "Like I said, not a conventional pilot."

Steve chuckled and shook his head. Yes another thing no one had even thought of in the 40's.

"Well, at least now I know you're crazy enough to fit in with the rest of the group," he teased.

"You think I'm this kind of crazy?" Sam asked, gesturing to the others. He glanced over, and lowered his hand. Clint seemed to be standing on top of a Roomba, buzzing around the room by throwing handfuls of paper bits to direct the little robot. "I don't even know what I'm seeing, here."

"You flew that in and out of combat zones," Steve said, gesturing. "That makes you our kind of crazy."

Tony snickered at that. "Don't mind Clint, he's his own special brand of Hawk-crazy."

"I was just doing what I had to do," Sam said. "Though I can't deny that the exopack was damn awesome to use."

"Of course it is," Tony said with a snort. "You two done snarking yet? I want to get back to this redesign so I can get a prototype started."

"You're really going to redesign it?" Sam asked, turning back to the blueprints.

"Well, maybe not totally redesign, but upgrade, yes. There are always things that can be tweaked to be more efficient." Tony shrugged, having already started playing with the power source.

"The wing mechanism sometimes caught," Sam offered. "Would get half-way open or closed and freeze up. Usually happened after flying an op in bad weather."

Tony nodded and started looking at the innards, muttering to himself as he flicked bits around and discarding some things. "What else?" he asked, somehow still paying attention to other things than just his engineering for once.

"Is there a way to strengthen the spot where the wing connects to the pack?" Sam asked. "I saw a buddy of mine go down because one of the wings got pulled off."

"Pulled off?" Tony said, turning to look at him. "By what?" Partially because that would actually change how he fixed it and partially because he was curious.

"Mech suit," Sam said. "Nothing Iron Man quality, sure, but it had claw arms and duck feet, kind of, and a guy in the cockpit with a joystick. One of my wingmen got too close, got grabbed on the left wing, and it tore right off. He was alright, my other wingman caught him, but the exopack was scrapped."

Tony snorted and shook his head. "Alright, I'll see what I can do about that," he muttered. "Ripping wings off my tech... Should be shot..."

"He was," Sam said. He didn't seem to take any pleasure in it, he just stated it in a matter-of-fact way. "Not sure by who, but someone got him."

Tony just grunted and went back to work. He could make this work, after all, he was Tony Stark, he could make anything work given enough time.
