Dori nodded. "That's not so bad. And this one went well, so I'm sure you got a lot of good stuff up for people to mull over." She grinned. "And I made sure to get good pictures for us to appreciate later."
|
"I saw those," Laurel said, grinning. "And the followers seemed to be all over the pictures of Bucky helping out."
|
"Awesome, he needs all the good PR we can get him right now." Doreen grinned. Really, she was kind of looking forward to being able to take as many pictures as she wanted of him.
|
"Exactly," Laurel agreed. "People seem to like him, now. Though most of the Avengers fanbase is kind of treating him like a stray puppy right now, so we'll have to watch how that evolves."
|
"Well so long as nobody decides that the stray puppy needs to be kicked out again, we're fine," Doreen said. "Because if anyone says that they may or may not be on the receiving end of a rant."
|
"Some have tried," Laurel said. "It wasn't pretty, but the verbal beatdowns were truly things of beauty."
|
"Excellent, my minions are helping already." Doreen didn't quite cackle but she was clearly pleased.
|
Laurel laughed.
"Our followers are trained so well," she agreed. |
"Absolutely." Doreen grinned as they entered the private elevator. "Everyone get back okay, Jarvis?"
"Of course," Jarvis agreed. "I shall let the team know you are on your way up. They've been asking after you." |
Clint was the first one upstairs, surprisingly.
"You still in one piece, shutterbug?" he asked, checking Doreen over quickly. "Speak up now if you're not, Barnes is twelve kinds of fussing right now." He grinned. "He's even trying to fuss over Steve and Nat." |
Doreen snorted. "Nah, I'm good. A bruise or two, I think, from bits of debri that I didn't even notice until we were in the elevator, but otherwise unhurt." She paused.
"He's fussing over those two? Really?" |
"Yeah," Clint said, nodding. "I think he's a little wound up, he was taking out a ton of robots."
|
Well, that answered who had shot down all the robots around her for certain. She had figured since none of them had arrows sticking out of them, but it was good to know.
"I'll go check on them all, see how they're doing. They in the gym?" |
"Steve and Barnes are," Clint said, nodding. "Maybe Nat too. Bruce went to meditate or some shit like that, and I think Stark's in his workshop again. Thor's... somewhere."
|
"Thor's fine, he's probably off flying off some energy," Doreen said with a grin. "Right, I'm going to go check on Barnes and see how he's doing now that I know everyone else is good. Not that I had a doubt with that moron trying to call himself a villain."
|
Clint snickered.
"Yeah, the poor guy was pretty pathetic this time, thought he would be a second Doom or something," he said. He shrugged and stretched. |
"Ha, yeah right." Doreen shook her head. "I got some good pictures of you if you want to go check, I know you do anyway." She grinned and waved a bit, heading for the elevator again.
|
Clint cackled.
"Awesome," he said. He always enjoyed looking through the pictures. Some of the ones that didn't make the blog were excellent for stupid faces. |
Doreen grinned and left him to it, instead heading down to the gym to check on the others.
Steve looked over at the elevator when he heard it open, hoping for a bit of a reprieve. Bucky wasn't being terrible, yet. |
Bucky also turned when the door opened, and his focus immediately shifted from Steve to Doreen.
"Good, you made it back okay," he said, going over to her. |
"Yeah, I'm fine," Doreen said. "Nary a scratch." Well. Maybe there was one or two, but he didn't need to know that.
Steve took his chance to slip out and upstairs to check on Laurel. |
"None of the robots got you at all?" Bucky pressed.
Laurel was sorting through some pictures up on the big screen, looking for some of the best ones. She glanced over when she heard the door open. "Hey," she said. "How'd it go?" |
"Nope," Dori said. "I promise, none of them got me. Pretty sure you shot them all first."
"Pretty well," Steve said. "Not bad at all. It was actually a pretty easy op, and Bucky did well." |
"Good," Bucky said, relaxing just slightly. "I tried to make sure I got them all."
"Good to hear," Laurel said. "Sit down and relax for a bit, you deserve it." |
"None of them got that close," Doreen said, shaking her head. "You got them all. Thanks for that."
Steve chuckled. "Well, Buck's been fussing, so I'm trying to give him a chance to calm down too." He made some coffee, since it didn't effect him, and it was relaxing to drink. |
