HIM hates those born again dolls
What are those?
They're the ones that are done from photos of real babies.
Oh, I think I've seen those on TV!
It's those ones and the antique porcelain ones which have teeth and a articulated (if that's what it's called ?) tongue that HIM hates.
A TONGUE? Its mouth is…? I want one of those. [:O]
HIM saw it on tellybox on an antiques program.
They're pretty hard to come across because they got dropped by childrens and their head smashed. |
Good thing play dolls were invented in the 1940s.
HIM had a good laugh at someone on one of these mother's forums complaining about one of the Monster High Dolls. It's too thin ! It needs some meat on it's bones.
You do know that it's a skeleton right as in IT HAS NO SKIN !! |
I don't think they're too thin. It's more like they're… elongated. Other than that, they're gorgeous. I'm still getting used to this thing where they have so many joints and can be posed like a real person.
HIM has a collection of them and it's amazing what people have done with them in customizations.
There are some amazing day of the dead inspired ones using the skeleton. HIM'd love to have a go at doing a custom one but HIM's not very good artist. |
Creepy isn't my thing. I'd do better designing a Moxie doll.
>_> I have an Equestria Girls doll, but that's about it.
I only got the doll to get the pony out of it really XD |
HIM likes the creepy ones but then again HIM does like weird stuff
WE'RE NEARING A K-POP NUMBER! HURRY!

*laughs* I have become immune through exposure.
How much exposure have you had to born again dolls?
HIM said they're dolls modeled after babies. How bad can that be? A doll has to be INTENTIONALLY scary to get me.
To me it's just creepy to recreate an infant. It seems wrong. But then you add in the Uncanny Valley component and it just gives me the creeps.
Uncanny Valley?
The pretty Asian boys are being fabulous girls. |
I'll explain it when I get back from tutoring. But I gotta head out right now!
Or, here...the Wikipedia entry: Uncanny valley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |
I get that! That is odd, but it doesn't happen to me with dolls. [lol]
It's more common with things that move. Stepford Wives is based on the Uncanny Valley concept. But those reborn dolls give it to me for some reason.
What exactly did I think I was doing? Oh, right. Moving things. Because spring. *hisses*
