At least you have a day when you can get on. :] And I can totally understand that, at least you'll still be around.

Sleep is very easy to throw off, that's for sure! I'll be headed back to school on Friday, and I'm sure that my sleep will be thrown back off pretty fast. >.<

Esmereina 01-12-2014 05:06 PM

Yeahhh... especially when you get used to one sleep pattern and then your schedule changes and it's like your body is confused so it won't do what you want it to go for a while. :(

nemo.love_22 01-12-2014 05:14 PM

Yeah. Thankfully when I'm at school my sleep schedule rarely changes too much.

Damia Flagg 01-12-2014 05:18 PM

Good morning/afternoon everyone.

nemo.love_22 01-12-2014 05:24 PM

Good morning Damia. How is miscreant feeling today?

Hello Nemo.
He is getting better, but he still hasn't got over the flu yet. He has been sleeping a lot more than normal. We both got up for a while & then went back to sleep for a while, he is still sleeping. His fever has been up & down, but at least it hasn't been back to 102 or higher.

Sleep should help him for better. Let his body have time to heal. But I'm glad that his fever hasn't gone higher than that again.

how is Miscreant doing?
much better i hope.
how about you,
have you gotten it?
or did the tamaflu help?

Damia Flagg 01-12-2014 06:03 PM

A retired nurse friend told me to not let him sleep the whole time he was running the really high fever. She said to wake him up & ask him questions to make sure he wasn't confused & if he was or if the fever went any higher to take him to the emergency room.

hiya, nemo
are you feeling better?

nemo.love_22 01-12-2014 06:05 PM

Yeah, that makes sense, but when his fever is under control, his body does need the rest. [yes]

Sadly, not really. :[
I'm going between having rather irritating sinus pressure to a sore throat, a cough that hurts my throats and my lungs, and no voice. :[

i know when i had a high fever i was woken up and given cool cloths
and my Tia even used some alcohol rub on me
i think i was delirious

nemo.love_22 01-12-2014 06:11 PM

I'm surprised that when his fever was that high that you didn't try to get him in a cool bath to try to bring his fever down.

But you did get close to keeping your goal correct?
What did you give away that you shouldn't have?
Was it something that you wanted to keep for you?

No I haven't gotten it (yet & hopefully won't).
I'm about sure he caught it Monday when he went in for his re-check. He said there was a guy in there coughing & wouldn't cover his mouth & wouldn't take one of the mask.
That to me was lazy on the guys part. The mask are in a box right beside the sign-in sheet.
If he did catch in Monday & it was full blown flu by Wednesday & the only symptoms I have had are body aches & a sore throat, I think I am good. I think mine is more from the crazy weather. We have gone from 4 degrees on Tuesday to rainy & 65 degrees yesterday. Cold weather makes my shoulders hurt all the time.
The Tamiflu does seem to help. I think getting it when I did probably kept me from getting it (knock on wood). The tamaflu was a little expensive I thought even with insurance, it was over $3 a pill. Mom was questioning me about my insurance when they picked up the prescription for me.

I did the cool cloths on him.
I think he was a little delirious. He talked a lot, but not to me & doesn't remember anything he said.
At one point he set up & cut the light off & laid back down. I was in the middle of reading something at the time. He said I told him to cut the light off.
He has been fighting the fever. At least twice that night he ended up with the cold sweats & had to change clothes. Sort of bad when it is freezing outside & to see him soaked with sweat.
I have to admit I was really worried. I hate when he gets sick.

Sadly, not really. :[

I have found that using spearmint candy has been helping mine.
It helps open my nose up & makes breathing a little easier.
I also use the sugar free honey & lemon cough drops.

Doesn't help that my Asthma keeps acting up too. :[

take care of yourself

Damia Flagg 01-12-2014 06:42 PM

My asthma has been bad. I've had to use the nebulizer some recently. I'm sort of glad the doctor got me to buy one a few years ago. It really does help when the asthma gets really bad. Then you can do a breathing treatment at home.

this movie, 'won't back down'
it such a tearjerker.

Damia Flagg 01-12-2014 06:45 PM

I was just reading up on the Tamiflu. I guess part of reason it is so expensive is because of one of the necessary ingredients that they have had a hard time finding an alternative to, it was saying it took 13 grams of star anise to make 10 75mg pills.
I was also reading about some of the adverse reactions, side-effects & studies.

My doctor doesn't have me on that... I don't remember the names of the ones that she does have me on - but I know that that isn't one of them. [yes]
