Yep. In high school. In college my speech credit was through a professional writing and presentation class.

Man I have no desire to work today. It's only a half day, but I still don't wanna.

Is giving a speech really nerve wracking? I have to give one tonight. I'm afraid i'm gonna bomb it, I stutter really bad in front of other people when talking about school stuff. Or I get brain farts and forget what i'm talking about.

Maybe she needs a Java Monster.

Eh, I'm pretty good at public speaking or performing. If I'm nervous, I just practice a lot in front of the mirror or in the car. The key is: if you flub something up or forget a line, act like it never happened. Just skip it and move on to the next line. Likely, no one even noticed. If you don't make a big deal about it, no one else will either.

Yeah, I had to take a speech class in order to have the units to transfer.

I'm sure that you will do wonderfully! Just don't over think it and you'll be fine! I was afraid that I would do bad on my speeches I had to do, but I managed to pull them all off, thankfully! [hug] Just don't over think it, and I know that things will go great! :]

Haha, and here I am thinking "oh god, I have to put on makeup to go to work. Blaaah"

I can't wear make up, more because I'm not a fan of hiding behind make up, and two, I'm allergic to most brands and it's not worth my time to figure out what kinds work well with me because I've got really sensitive skin. And before y'all say anything, even the sensitive skin ones react badly with me - a friend of mine has tried them.

Thanks everyone. Guess I'll quit worrying about it. It's an introduction speech so we have to tell about selves, pretty easy right? i mean i do it all the time. [lol] *deep breaths* Another thing is, a lot of people don't get my sense of humor. I dunno if it's dry or just too silly or what. When i'm nervous i say more silly things to keep people to laugh with me and they never do. haha.

You're welcome llonka! [hug] Oh, that doesn't sound too bad at all! [hug] Just be yourself and if they don't get it, it's their loss! Just take deep breaths before you're going and concentrate on breathing. That's one of the things that helped me when I had to do my speeches. [yes] :]

Haha, oh honey, I understand that. I like puns. So I end up with that stupid moray eel face waiting for someone to laugh with me. I just learned to laugh for everyone and go with it.
Heh. I was going to suggest a biggest pet kitty contest, but that would be unfairly skewed in my favor. Ummm...I got nothin'.

steel- ha! i'm glad i'm not the only one! i'm a sucker for puns.. one time i walked into class and was like "I wish I had my gloves, it's cold out there.. I think they got "kid"napped.. get it? kid napped... because i have kids..." nobody got it. xP
