Having been in the bathroom, Naruto returned to the room to find that Amaya was awake. "Oh, good morning, Maya-chan." He said tiredly, hiding his exhaustion behind a big smile.
Hikari woke to the sound of a cheerful voice. She yawned and stretched, then sat up to see Amaya and Naruto awake. It looked like Maya had just woken, but Naruto was already showered and dressed, indicating that he had been up for a while. "'Morning." She mumbled. |
"Well it looks like someone is a morning person, isn't that so Foxy? Morning Hikari," Amaya said to both Naruto and Hikari before giving the fox a worried look for half of a second.
Ark yawned as he woke up. Stretching lightly, he sat up to see that everyone else was already up. "Um...morning everyone," he quickly said as he took in the state of everyone's appearance while wondering if Naruto was okay. |
Naruto chuckled. "I'm just...excited for our first real day here!" He said. That was a good excuse. Plenty of people woke up early on the first day of school.
Hikari raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying the act. "Is that so? You never really struck me as the academic type, Naruto-san." She said, but didn't push the issue further. |
"Nice try Naruto. What's really going on...does it have something to do with Sasuke?" Ark asked, curious and worried for the fox. He also noticed that Amaya didn't buy the story either.

Naruto dropped the smile and sighed. "I can't hide from you guys, huh? Yeah, it's about Sasuke. I didn't sleep at all last night. I had...nightmares. Nightmares I thought I'd gotten rid of years ago." He shook his head. "But, things are different this time. I'm not alone this time. I'll be fine, as long as I've got you guys."

"These nightmares...did they have something to do with Hinata?" Amaya asked softly. She wouldn't be surprised if he didn't want to give any details, or answer the question at all, but she had to ask. It felt like the right thing to do.

Naruto flinched, which was really all the answer he needed to give. "Yeah...they did." He answered, but didn't say anything else.

"Sorry...I don't mean to pry," Amaya responded. She understood what it was like to lose someone close to you, in fact, she had a feeling that they all had that feeling...well maybe Hikari didn't, but the sentiment was there all the same.

Hikari winced. "I'm so sorry. I know what it feels like to lose someone close..."
Naruto shook his head. "It's okay, forget it. Come on, let's go get breakfast." |
Amaya nodded, not knowing what else to say. She just had to hope that Ozpin could help.

Hikari couldn't think of anything to say, so she just nodded and got up, headed for the bathroom.

"Naruto...are you going to be okay?" Amaya asked.

"I'm fine. Please, can we just...talk about something else?" Naruto asked, indicating that he wasn't fine but didn't want to talk about it at that moment.

Areku nodded. "I'm going to take a shower. After that...I think we should tell Ozpin. After that, I'm pretty sure we'll start classes," he said as he changed the subject.

Naruto nodded, thankful for Ark's tactful change of subject. "I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually pretty excited about classes." He said cheerfully.
Coming back from the bathroom right at that moment, Hikari smiled. "Actually, I am, too. I'm a bit nervous, though, that I won't be able to understand what I'm being taught." |
"We'll help you though Kari, and it's not like they're going to expect you to know everything on the first day, right?" Amaya asked as Ark left to take the shower that he said he was going to take now that Hikari was out.

Kari smiled. "Thanks. And I guess not. I'm just used to that assumption. All my tutors expected me to know everything, just because of who my parents are. But since these are real professors who deal with more than just one kid at a time, they probably have more realistic expectations."

"Don't mention it. That's what friends are for, right?" she asked.

"Yeah, I guess so." Hikari replied with a smile.

"You don't have to guess about it Kari-chan, we're your friends," Naruto said with a smile. If they could look past his past with Sasuke...then they could easily look past Hikari's faults. "No one's perfect, after all" "He's right you know. Shower's free by the way," Ark said as he came back out of the bathroom with a fresh set of clothes on. |

Hikari smiled a great, beaming grin that lit up the whole room. "Thank you guys. It's really great to have friends, and I couldn't have asked for better friends than you." |
Ark chuckled lightly at that. "I guess we're just cool like that, right Naruto?"

Naruto grinned. "Yep, that's us. The coolest, 'tebayo." He said.

"You're talking about me behind my back? A girl like me could get suspicious..." Amaya said teasingly as she came out of the shower. She was wearing another set of her clothes from yesterday with her tonfa pistols stuck in the belt at her waist. "Well, I'm ready for the day. Anyone else?"

Naruto jumped up instantly. "Heck yeah, I'm ready! Let's go!" He shouted excitedly.
Kari laughed and stood. "I second that, Naruto-san. But remember that we have to go to Ozpin first." She said. |
