Yang didn't believe that sound came from her before quickly jumping out of the tree she was sitting in, hoping that her sister hadn't made her out. If Ruby had, she just knew that her sister, and possibly Hikari, would kill her.

Hikari stayed frozen, waiting for a beat to make sure Ruby and Sun didn't notice anything. If they spotted Yang, Hikari would have to kill the older girl.

"I didn't hear anything Ruby. You sure you didn't just hear a bird or something?" Sun asked. Seeing Ruby look around for a little while longer before sighing, she shrugged her shoulders lightly and said that he was probably right.

Hikari sighed quietly, glad that Yang's outburst hadn't been discovered. "Ark-kun, we should go." She whispered, figuring that the couple down below could use some privacy.

"I was just about to suggest that," he replied in a whisper before jumping away from the branch.

Hikari followed quickly, making sure to stay quiet. Once they were out of earshot, she sighed happily. "I'm so glad it's working! They're cute together."

"Yeah, they are. And they'll balance each other pretty well also," Ark said with a light chuckle.

"I think you're right." Hikari said. "Now, why don't we go and get some breakfast? We can wait in the cafeteria to see if they walk in together."

"And they probably wouldn't realize it, or think of themselves in that way" Areku replied to his girlfriend's comment. "Though breakfast does sound like a good idea.

Cool, then let's go." Hikari said, dragging Ark off towards the cafeteria.
Meanwhile, Naruto was just waking up. As he sat up, he noticed that Ark and Kari were gone, and chuckled. "Had to have some alone time, I guess." He muttered, heading for the bathroom to get showered and dressed. At the same time, Itachi was taking an early morning stroll in the courtyard. A lot was on his mind, most notably his relationship with Amaya. He hesitated to call it a relationship, as it wasn't official. But he wanted it to be. Didn't he? True, he was a couple of years older, but it wasn't too big of an age difference. Then there was the issue of student-teacher relationships. He didn't think Ozpin would judge them too harshly, but what if he did? And of course, there was Amaya herself. How did she feel? Did she think of him, the way he thought of her? And how would he even go about asking? He wasn't exactly a professional when it came to...people. |
"You know, I can walk," he replied as he was dragged towards the cafeteria. He wasn't worried about his reputation, but he didn't like the fact his girlfriend was dragging him when his feet were working perfectly fine.Though he did wonder about his other teammates and their own relationships...before mentally shrugging. Right now he had to deal with his own relationship and make sure she wasn't acting as crazy as Nora.
Amaya was currently working in the gardens, having found that to be a good soothing place that was quiet and could let her think. And right now she was thinking about her feelings concerning Itachi Uchiha...one of their teachers here at Beacon. Sure they were friends, but were they something more? And then there was also the issue of student-teacher relationships...even if the Headmaster didn't judge them, the student populous would. The team already had to deal with it because of Hikari, though Amaya wasn't blaming her for that, but did she want to add to the team's...publicity? She wasn't sure about that. 'Perhaps...I should just ask Itachi-kun?' she thought to herself. |
Hikari blushed and slowed down. "Sorry. I got too excited. I'll try not to do that again." She said, both embarrassed and ashamed that she had upset her boyfriend.
Itachi's route took him, as usual, through the gardens, where he spotted Amaya just in time to make sure he didn't trip over her. "Oh, Miss Amaya-chan. Good morning." He said. |
Areku noticed the tone in his girlfriend's voice. "Hey, I'm not mad at you Kari-chan, honest. I just wanted to let you know," he replied.
"Good morning Itachi-sensei," Amaya said with a light smile on her face as she saw the person that she had a crush on for a little while now. |
Hikari glanced up and smiled a little. "Okay. I won't do it again." She repeated.
Itachi nodded. "You're up early today. How are you doing?" He asked. |
"That's all I ask,"Ark said.
"I'm doing well Itachi-sensei, thank you for asking" Amaya said with a light smile. 'Go on...ask him!' the little voice in the back of her head said. "What about you, are you doing okay?" |
"I'm fine, thank you." Itachi replied. Part of him wanted to kick himself. Why was he just sticking to small talk? Say something worthwhile! His mind screamed.

"That's good to hear," Amaya said as she stood up, brushing the dirt off of her pants as she did so. Before her mouth could connect to the brain and have the girl stop from saying it she blurted out, Itachi-sensei,whatdoyouthinkaboutme?

Itachi blinked, and paused. He took a moment to figure out the words he had heard before letting them sink in, then blushed very slightly. "Well, I..." The elder Uchiha cleared his throat, trying to think. In the end, he answered without thinking much at all. "I think you are a very nice, smart talented girl. You are strong and kind, and really quite beautiful. I like you very much."

Amaya was currently kicking herself mentally, not believing that she said all of that. Though she was surprised when Itachi started responding and blushed up a storm once hearing everything that he said, including the fact that he liked her a lot. "T-thank you...Itachi-sensei" she replied softly.

Though it was hard to notice on his pale face, Itachi was actually blushing more than he thought he ever had before. Had he really just said all that? He cleared his throat. "You, ah...you are welcome, Miss Amaya-chan." He said, feeling awkward now. What if she was creeped out now? He wanted to ask what she thought of him, but he couldn't bring himself to speak.

Amaya had a smile on her face, glad that he thought of the way he thought about her. 'He really thinks that way about me!' she thought excitedly. Now all she had to do was explain to Itachi how she felt the same way about him...

After a supremely awkward moment- at least for him- Itachi cleared his throat. "Well, ah...I suppose I'll leave you to your business, then. It was good running into you." He said politely.

After Itachi left, Amaya frowned lightly, unsure as to why he left so suddenly. 'It seemed as if he was flustered about something...' she thought silently before getting up and brushing the dirt off of her clothes. While she liked tending to the gardens, she also needed to eat and was going to head to the cafeteria to get some food, hopefully being able to get a change of clothes as well before classes started for the day.

As he walked away, Itachi mentally kicked himself. Why did you walk away so abruptly?! She probably thinks you were snubbing her! Since when do you get so flustered by a girl, anyway?! He thought, frustrated.

Amaya headed into the cafeteria after being able to gain a fresh set of clothes. Seeing her team, she waved to them before heading their way.
