"Following the girl you set us on," Dean replied. He gave Bobby the address of the little motel. "What's up?"
Bobby took a few moments to find the town and then grunted.
"There's a nest of vamps not far from that town," he said. "A couple of 'em at least. Not sure where they're stayin', but that town is their main hunting ground." |
Vamps weren't a problem.
"We'll take care of it," Dean said. "No worries. We'll call when the nest is gone." |
"Don't get yourselves killed," Bobby said. "Idjits." And he hung up, trusting them to figure everything else out from there.
Dean snorted, and hung up the phone.
"Bobby says there's a vamp nest for us to take out, outside of town," he said to Sam. |
"Okay." Sam wasn't too surprised; they ran across hunts like that every once in a while. "He got anything else for us or are we doing the legwork?"
"Legwork," Dean said. "Apparently this town is the hunting ground, so it shouldn't be too hard."
Sam nodded. "Right. Well, let's start taking a look around." He didn't think it would be too hard to find the vamps.
Dean nodded.
"I'll head to the local bar and ask around," he said, making sure he had his knife and a container of dead man's blood, just in case. |
Sam nodded. "I'll see what I can find out around town," he said. "Let me know if you find anything out."
"I'll call if I find anything," Dean said, nodding. Grabbing what he needed, he headed out to find the local bar to ask around about the vamps. Hopefully, they could get this hunt over quick and get back to tracking down that girl.
Sam went his own way to ask around and see what he could find out. He wanted to just finish off the vamps as quickly as possible.
A few hours later, Dean called Sam.
"I think I got something," he said. "Apparently, a gang's taken up in an abandoned warehouse just outside of town. Sounds like the nest." |
"Great. Did you find out where exactly?" Sam paused, ready to turn and head back to the hotel to get their stuff.
"East of town," Dean said, heading back to the motel as well. "Follow the road, can't miss it, apparently."
"Great, makes our job easier." Sam started back. "I'll see you at the room in a few minutes."
"Right." Getting into the car, Dean drove back to the motel.
"This should be a simple enough hunt," he commented when he met up with Sam again. "Nothing we haven't done before, right?" |
"Right." Sam shook his head. "Should be pretty routine." He was already checking the machetes.
Dean was stocking their kit with dead man's blood and checking the salt rifles. The salt wouldn't kill the vamps, but it was still damn good at hurting them.
As soon as Sam was sure they had everything, he nodded to Dean and headed back to the Impala.
Dean nodded back and got into the car. Time to take care of the vamp nest so they could get back to what they were supposed to be doing. The longer it took, the less chance they had of finding that girl and figuring out what was going on.
Sam settled in for the ride to the warehouse. He was also ready to be done with the vamps and go back to looking for those girls. But he would make sure they had done the job thoroughly well.
It didn't take long to find the nest. Like Dean had been told, the warehouse was hard to miss. Parking out front, he killed the engine and got out to survey the area. It was daylight, but that didn't mean the vamps didn't have some human flunkies to look after things.
"I see at least one side entrance from here," Sam said quietly. "But I don't see anyone up and about yet."
"Front door's not guarded, either," Dean replied just as quietly. "No flunkies, then, makes things easier for us."
