Tony kept to those rules as well, not trying to get her really wet, just kind of playing with her. He was grinning the whole time too.
|
Clara stopped after a few more minutes, grinning. That had been unexpectedly fun, and she appreciated that he'd played along.
"Told you the stream was nice," she teased. |
Tony snorted. "It's nice," he agreed. "But not something I'd go swimming in, not that it's big enough."
|
"It might be, once we find the place where it empties," Clara said. "It might be a lake, or a river."
|
Tony made a face. "I'm not a fan of swimming," he said, shaking his head. "Go drag Clint in, it's always funny to see him flailing."
|
Clara looked at him curiously.
"You don't swim?" she asked. "I guess I never really noticed before." |
"Not really," Tony said with a shrug. "I mean, I can, well enough, but I don't like to."
|
"Huh," Clara mused. "I never noticed." She glanced at him, a bit shy. "I guess I'm not going to ask you to go swimming with me later, then."
|
"I'll let you know if I feel like swimming," Tony said, shooting her a quick grin.
|
Clara grinned back.
"Alright," she said. That was fair, really. She wasn't going to force him to go swimming, after all. |
"Alright, lovebirds, come get lunch," Elisa called with a grin. Tony just made a face.
|
Clara blushed slightly, but stood up and shook the water off of her feet.
"Come on," she said. "Let's see what Elisa and Clint found." |
Elisa had berries and had found some other things to make a quasi-salad, and roasted rabbit again.
"Jeeze," Tony muttered. "You don't cook like this back inside." "I don't have to." Elisa shrugged. |
"I'm grateful she can cook out here," Clara said as she grabbed some berries.
"At least there are critters out here that are good to eat," Clint added, nodding. |
"She's still crazy," Tony said with a grin.
"Of course I am," Elisa said dryly. "You are too." |
"We're all a little crazy," Clint said, grinning. "Or else we wouldn't be out here."
"Speak for yourself, Birdy," Clara teased. |
"Nope, I agree, we're all a little crazy," Tony said with a grin.
|
Clint snickered and Clara just rolled her eyes. She couldn't argue, though, because they were right. They had to be at least a little crazy to leave the dome.
|
Since they'd settled in there for a while, and Elisa wasn't sure they'd be leaving before the next day, she took some time after dinner to start looking for acceptable basket-weaving materials.
|
Clara helped, looking for anything they could use to make things with. Clint, on the other hand, stayed in camp, near the fire. His eagle-hawk friend stayed nearby, in one of the trees.
|
Elisa managed to find reeds and started pulling them to take back to camp to weave. Fortunately it didn't take too long to make one small basket.
|
Clara worked on weaving a basket, as well, although hers was a bit bigger. She figured it couldn't hurt to have a few baskets, just in case.
|
Elisa made two smaller baskets and grinned when she was done.
"Well, three should do us for the moment, we know what to look for if we need more." |
Clara nodded.
"Sounds good," she said, handing her basket over to Elisa. "Does it look okay?" |
"Looks good," Elisa said with a smile. "Thanks. These will be helpful."
