And I can't contribute much to the event, beside few ideas, so I'm just trying to figure something fun. I might send in few EIs or something, though.

I think hosting a thread would be every bit as helpful as donating, sadrain. I think there will be others who can't give any time, but are willing to donate.

I don't think I'd be good host is all. I'd probably have the time and all, and I can be rather pestering and organizing (like, if I hosted day to day games, I'd probably ping everyone who didn't come back for a game [sweat]), but I somehow don't feel I'd make a good host... Especially since I feel like a host should provide all the prizes him/herself and I can't really give a lot away. ):

There is no way one host could provide all of the prizes for a thread in an event like this, so don't feel bad about that, dear. And we're wanting to have at least two hosts per thread, so you would have someone else to talk to about things like that. I think you'd be an excellent host, dear.

But some people do! Like, Roachi, Queenie, Lilith W in her own time host threads that give away that much value in prizes.

And, well, two-hosts can be trouble because you can't edit the other's posts, like if you want to update things? I think easiest is for avatar contest then. Multiple categories, multiple posts for each judge for it.

Well, threads are not yet decided, I don't know if there's game I'd like to host, I'd prefer it would be something I don't want to play in personally. [lol]

Yes, but those people are running their own things. We don't want an event where only the wealthiest Menewshans can help out. That's why we have fundraising. :)

Honestly, I would say that volunteers are more important than donators for something like this! Not that donators aren't important, but volunteers are the ones who'll make everything work and make it fun instead of just being 'let's give away a bunch of stuff'

And, well, I've never hosted a thread before, and I think volunteering for backstage's important, too, and that I'm doing by brainstorming. [lol]

If you have the concern of being bias to theme and revolving the games/activities around it too much, I would suggest stripping off the theme contest and just separate theme and games when brainstorming.

Theme is one thing and games is another thing to think about. They can go on separately, working out the rules of the game or how to judge the entries without bothering the theme. Then when the theme is decided, just add the theme specific term/style/trend into the activities.

example. A simple battleship type game can be decorated into a desert theme, finding oasis perhaps? Any fortune telling, for magic school could be cards? For Asian festival, could be coins?

By the way, is any of the games, quiz related?
I would think quiz game is beneficial, learn more things.

I came up with a guessing game for the science theme. It can be extended to any other theme, but I am limited in what I can do for other themes.
