I'm personally... so picky about some things. Like, I'd grammar Nazi all stickies 10 times until they were perfect in that sense and make them super organized and neat, if I could. [gonk]
And, hey, Space-gypsy who has computer calculate your fortunes could totally work as Fortune Teller for alien theme. [lol]

sadrain: I'd be the same way! [mrmayor] Spell check crazy, consistent post form. I don't think it's a bad thing. The better polished our event is, in all aspects, the more it will appeal to users!

Grammar Nazis are very welcome here. >.> I know I'll be going over the initial sticky threads with my red marker, because Aya's right. The more polished it is, the more successful the event will be!

Oh my gosh! If we did the science fair theme? We could totally award gold stars to highly active participants! Something they could put in siggies or profiles! EEE!

Oh I like the idea of the little extras! Be it stars or seashells, it's cute!

I am not here at all. And I have to help a kid with a science fair project today. [headdesk]

Doing research for the theme, steel? [lol]

I have a game suggestion!
Thinking back on past events, one game I really enjoyed was Captain Howdy's Alternate Vacation Universe game from last year's summer event. It was basically a choose-your-own-adventure game, which could be easily adapted to whichever theme we choose.

Chexala, there were some other suggestions for a choose your own adventure game, so I think we should definitely consider it. We'd have to get people who were really adept at keeping track of stuff to run it, but I think it's a great idea.

I'm pretty fascinated by this idea, although it probably will be a lot of work. I'm sure we can handle it, though!
So I was talking with someone who was involved in the event last year, and she said that the two things that took longest were the theme-- of course-- and the color scheme, which surprised me. Maybe while we're waiting to vote, we should come up with some color scheme ideas for each theme? If we come up with a couple of schemes for each theme, that will save us time in the future that we could be using to make more solid plans!
Or perhaps, to make it more streamlined, the creator of each theme should come up with a color scheme, and then people could add alternate suggestions? I'll start with mine!
Desert Winds Caravan: Black, red, sand, gold, all shades of brown.
