Alright so to the long story.
Friday early evening the shower over flowed onto the ground. Not like a lot but the floor was covered. The previous day we had noticed that something was wrong with the toilet. Whenever you flushed it would fill up with water and take FOREVER to go down. Our landlord (she lives upstairs, we live in the basement apartment) knew but her son (who fixes things for us) couldn't come pour this acid stuff down it yet. So we we're just being careful. So anyways back to the shower. Overflowed, had to call Edna (landlord) and she came down with her son's girlfriend. Poured vinegar and baking soda down and plunged it. Got it to go down and they cleaned it up. Had to take shower upstairs. So I go out with the guy I've been seeing, he's the one that was taking the shower. We come back around midnight my roomie Jess was home by then. So my guy and I are laying down getting ready to go to sleep (1:30amish) when I heard Jess go you gotta be fucking kidding me. So we go out to see what's happening. The shower is totally overflowing, like big time. So we scramble and get everything off the floor and onto our beds except the big stuff. Then we start bailing. We call Edna and she wakes up and comes down, goes off to call a plumber. NO one is answering.
Ok mind you it's pouring rain outside, the pipe that the toilet and shower are on connects to a drain outside. You catch my drift?
So I'm literally scooping up water with a bucket, handing it to Jess and she's dumping it down the sink. Well now the sink isn't draining. So guess what. We have to carry the bucket up the stairs and outside in the pouring rain to dump it.
Now comes the best part. The shower stops overflowing but the water starts pouring out of the toilet. We grab our trashcan and start dumping the water in there. Brandon carries that and dumps it while I get the smaller, Jess is doing the bailing. The ground is completely flooded, our shoes are ruined. And then we realize that we're dumping the water by the drain that connects to the pipe[cry].....freaking idiots. So now we have to walk around the house to dump it. Edna's son comes after she calls him because there is no stopping it! We finally put a rug over the drain outside to stop the rain from going in. And mind you this is dirty water, not like poopey water but that shit wasn't clean either. So around 5:30 freaking am it finally stops!!!
Thank god Brandon was there, we would not have survived and he helped calm me down lol. It was horrible...
