Pretty up your world! (or the dream walls in your head, at least!)

I was wasting time looking at this website --> https://www.bouf.com/

I found this before Christmas; I made a Pinterest board of things I liked to help my mum, as she says I'm horrible to buy for. xD The thing I pinned from this site was an egg slicer xD

Cute, right?

Today I'm idly looking at their wallpaper, which is hellishly expensive, but pretty damn cool too! I started wondering what ones people would pick if they had that kind of cash to splash around (cos you all know I'm a nosy mare).

So take a look and link to your favourites! (right click on the image and copy image location, paste into [IMG] tags [yes])
I want to see how different people's choices are =3

I wonder if mine tell any deep, dark secrets about me. [:O]

This is seriously cool, but you'd need an equally cool place to be able to pull it off. When I have my San Francisco loft apartment redone I'll have a wall with this on it. [whatev]

Beach huts!

A quintessentially Brit thing; some beach huts sell for £50,000 you know! These on a bathroom wall would be awesome!

World map

I love maps on the wall, so the whole wall covered by a giant one? Bring it on!

Cute!

This is kind of childish I suppose, but I think it would be lovely on a bedroom wall!

I really like a lot of the vintagey look ones too, but they need such a big room to do them justice. I can totally see why people get into interior design. I'd love to have the creative talent to be able to see a blank space and have the vision and ability to turn it into something amazing. Not something that I possess though, so I'll just look at sites like this and bow to others' skills. [ninja]

I don't think this is going to surprise anybody, but my yen is for reproduction wallpaper, a la this company:
Historic Victorian Art Wallpapers | Bradbury & Bradbury

This is the one that seems particularly usable, and therefore captured my imagination

I could coordinate with some of this:
Aesthetic

Mmmm.

I like the idea of a world map on my wall...we used to have an outdated one as a poster which was great for reference for the places that hadn't changed...

I used to stick posters of celebrities that would come with teenager magazines...these days most of the things I stick on my wall are photos, drawings and stuff I've created myself over the years...

Cardinal Biggles 02-13-2014 06:17 AM

I've been in this house ten years and I haven't actually finished decorating the walls yet [oops]

I was looking for a craft project I had done, and look what at this wall sticker I found in the image results [drool]

I just want all my walls to be giant whiteboards that I can write all over. When I'm working on a problem, I like to do several extra pages of work with diagrams to help me visualize things, so having big whiteboards would save me a lot of paper. It would also look awesome. xD

star2000shadow 02-22-2014 12:10 PM

Hmm I suppose i could list the ones that catch my eye.

I've only gone through a few pages, but I like this one alot;

http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-58642-1.org.jpg

It'd be an accent wall, obviously, but that's one hell of an accent wall.

As for the others, I'm a sucker for brick prints and light prints, so those all get my vote... But for something I didn't think I'd like the Whitby prints are definitely up there.

http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-46399-1.full.jpg
Especially this one.

jellysundae 02-23-2014 07:51 PM

That Whitby one is appealing. Fishing boats have zero appeal to me, but because it's not coloured the industrial/commercial vibe isn't there for me. What hits me first is the movement of the waves, and the seagulls. It's restful and calming, I totally see where you're coming from with this one, as it's not one I'd immediately choose either (I clearly didn't when I looked through them myself) but seeing it now, I like it.

hummy 02-23-2014 07:59 PM

oh this looks like fun

Suona 02-25-2014 01:38 AM

Okay, I picked quite a few. lol
I think these two flowers are pretty and could be nice in a living space

http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-67880-1.org.jpg http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-67871-1.org.jpg

I think these trees would look really pretty in a bedroom. Maybe behind the bed or next to it.

http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-81892-7.org.jpg

And this just made me think of my mom. She would love to have this.

jellysundae 02-25-2014 07:01 PM

These would be awesome on a big accent wall, wouldn't they? That islands view through a window is pretty spectacular [:O] That would be pretty amazing to look at while you were drifting towards sleep. In a dark room it might even look real, you could fall asleep to the sound of imaginary waves lapping against the deck outside the window :D

Suona 02-25-2014 08:08 PM

Ooh. Yeah, you have a great point there. That's very true, and could be pretty relaxing.

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2014 09:39 AM

Of the site jelly posted. this was the one I most like, as a livable thing:
http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-61018-2.org.jpg

But I found this quite appealing as well:
http://www.bouf.com/assets/Product-82399-1.org.jpg

I was interested by this manufacturer's use of Godward's paintings:
Naufragio from Studio Arterie | Made By Studio Arterie | £565.00 | BOUF

And was tickled that this one was inspired by Saki's short stories:
Beastly Chronicles Wallpaper (Cornfield Yellow) from Emma Molony | Made By Emma Molony | £65.00 | BOUF
eeeeeee.

jellysundae 02-27-2014 06:20 PM

I love that owl ones, Bigs! That super expensive one would look astonishing in a huge room. Maybe if you had a swimming pool with a classical look or something.

Cardinal Biggles 02-27-2014 10:49 PM

Ooh, now there's an idea! Yeah, I think that would work well. I'm imagining one with an outside wall that's all windows. The concept of it would work better in that type of space rather than a "closed" room

jellysundae 02-28-2014 12:09 AM

Better get onto your architect now ;D

I'd probably end up going with the concrete brick or the Moonlight Manhattan.

CosmicFoxKitty 03-29-2014 08:24 PM

I like oddly snapped bookshelves but other than that I don't normally look at furniture and stuff...

I love this one! Rooms with bare brick walls look great, I think. And when they're old bricks, so much the better!

jupiter 03-30-2014 03:57 AM

I think I'd love all kinds of things on my walls and in my room. Initially the idea was to go with a sort of clean and refreshing beach house, but I choose a dark colour and the room looks a little big-top-tent now. I don't mind it; everything is so busy that it's kind of relaxing to me. Lanterns hang from the ceiling, everything is lit with string lights, it's nice.
It's nice.

Agreed there were other brick wall designs but it's the aged, torn look that drew me to this one.

I actually do have a new bedroom to think about designing as we are moving to my grandparent's old house in June. My mother and I have discussed an accented wall and I picked out an ancient shade of red quite similar to that of this brick wallpaper.

jellysundae 03-30-2014 06:42 PM

I know I'd struggle with decorating anywhere. I have so little creativity with things like that it's embarrassing. [blush] This is where sites like Pinterest, and ones like I linked to in this thread, come into their own. ><

I have a music room in the basement, and if there weren't pipes all over the stinkin place down there this would be lovely:
