Athena buried her head in his chest shaking gripping his shirt tightly.

Mordecai and the rest left, with Mordecai holding tightly onto finx. "Shh.....he won't harm you, ever again. "he said.

" Ok." Athena said letting him hold her as she calmed down.

Mordecai kissed her head, holding her. They were making their way to the iron gates, to warn them of the impending horde.

Simon hurried ahead and gave the signal to the old mages who prepared there mage groups to fight.

The great gates shut, as dozens of men approached the edges, waiting for th demon horde. Mordecai was in his tent, waiting fof the call.

Athena sat next to him sipping the tea Lori had made for her. She hadn't said anything to him but she kept looking at him like she wanted to say something but didn't.

"Yes?"he asked, trying to ease things.

' thank you for protecting me." Athena said looking away.

"It was no trouble. I couldn't let him take you. "he said.

Athena stared at the ground and then leaned forward and kissed him.

Though surprised, he had enough brains to lean forward, and kiss her back.

Athena placed her cup down and clutched his shirt.

Mordecai held her close, kissing her neck.

Athena gasped " Don't." she pushed him away. " I think kissing enough."

Mordecai schoched away. "Er....sorry."he said.

" It's alright I did start it." Athena sighed blushing.

"What? No, I'm sorry for taking it too far, I'm not sorry for kissing you. That was the best thing in my life."he said.

" I still don't want to marry you yet." Athena said with a grin.

"The fact I got this far means I still have a chance yet."he said.

" I guess." Athena chuckled softly.

Mordecai kissed her. "So what now?"he asked.

" We beat the horde and then we'll see." Athena sighed.

"The horde will never break through the iron gates."he said.

" SO we can hope." Athena sighed.
