Kyle nodded. "How many have come through here that you know of?"

"Since I've been here, maybe a dozen," Athena replied. "Most only stay just long enough to rest and recover, if they need to, and then they move on."

Kyle blinked, surprised. A dozen was more than he'd expected. "And out of a dozen, only the three have stayed."

Athena shrugged.

"They aren't ready to leave," she said. "Or they just don't want to. Natasha stays with Clint, and Clint will be the first to tell you that it's not bad living here. Chloe is new, still."

Kyle nodded, staying silent for a few moments. He could work with this. "Alright. This is good."

"Good to hear," Athena said. She was quiet for a moment. "I don't know how much time you'll end up spending here. But maybe, if the others are comfortable, you should bring Warren with you?"

"If the others are comfortable, I'd be happy to," Kyle agreed with a smile. "I think he'd enjoy that."

Athena grinned a bit.

"I'll talk to them," she said, "see what they think about it."

Kyle nodded. "Only if they feel comfortable. Warren would be mad if I brought him somewhere the locals didn't want him."

Athena nodded in agreement.

"Of course," she said. "I wouldn't do that to the cats. They come here for a safe place, so I won't just randomly invite a literal wolf in the door."

Kyle snorted at that but nodded his agreement. "So is it just the people you've mentioned in the house?"

"Pretty much," Athena replied. "The three cats, Clint, Bruce, Tony, and occasionally Thor. Thor is in and out pretty often, though. I gather he's not big on staying in one place."

"Good. That will make things easier." Kyle stretched a bit.

It took a bit of convincing, and three more visits from Kyle, before any of the cats felt comfortable enough to allow a strange were into the house. It was Chloe's turn to cook the evening that Kyle was supposed to bring Warren with him, and Athena agreed to be a buffer between them and Chloe if need be.

Chloe so far was okay, though she was staying mostly in the kitchen working on dinner and dessert. Natasha was in the living room watching the lawyer and the wolf.

Kyle was fairly relaxed in the living room, sitting next to Warren.

Clint was up in the rafters, also watching the lawyer and the wolf. Surprisingly, Tony was also in the living room, although he was playing with a tablet while keeping an eye on things.

Kyle was just relaxed, so Warren was pretty relaxed. He was also waiting for the other Weres to come to him before he invaded any further.

Chloe eventually did make her way into the living room to look at the group. "Dinner's almost ready," she said, glancing at Warren and then away again.

"Thanks," Athena said, smiling at Chloe a bit. Then she glanced around to see where Steve was.

Steve had been in the back but he emerged when he heard Chloe. He nodded to her and leaned against the wall nearby to keep an eye on everyone. Chloe headed back to the kitchen to finish up dinner.

The tension in the room was rising a bit, and Athena reached for the TV remote.

"Anyone have any complaints about Discovery or National Geographic?" she asked as she turned the TV on.

"Go right ahead," Kyle said with a brief smile. He was aware of the tension, but he was a lawyer. He was used to dealing with tension.

"Awesome." Athena flipped the channel over to National Geographic, grinning when she saw some show on ancient aliens. That would keep everyone amused for a while.

Steve noticed that she was a little tense and worked on bringing his own tension level down. They needed a less tense atmosphere or Chloe would be up in the rafters all night.

It didn't take much longer for Bruce to nudge Chloe again. Dinner was ready, time for everyone to make a plate.

Chloe made a brief face at him but went to go tell the rest of the group.

"Dinner's ready," she told them. "Plates are out in the kitchen." She went to go get her own plate of food.

Kyle stood but let the others go first, Warren standing next to him.
