I've only heard about bots from other people. I don't see anybody hacking, though. Well, where I play, I hardly see anybody at all outside of town. XD Ragnarok is the only game where I don't see people breaking the rules left and right!
|
Oh wow, the server you use must not have much activity! xD Back when I was playing there were constantly people everywhere. |
Oh, I know crowded!RO. I played the international server waaay back when, before it went pay. Someone I know complained about seeing bots all the time, but I never saw any. My complaint was people using dead branches in town. And casting Lord of Vermillion just to lag everybody (which gave the skill the nickname "lagattack"). [angry]
|
Oh yeah. I had fun with the dead branches in town actually, since my level was so low that dying doesn't effect me much anyway. I'd just be sitting in town and then suddenly monsters would explode everywhere. I'd spend my time clicking like mad on the dropped items from the monsters while the high-leveled people battled the monsters. [XD]; |
Oh, I couldn't stand it! It was the worst. But I know what you mean random about high-level monsters in the beginner fields. Ugh.
It's a fiery AoE skill wizards have. Lots of explosions when it's casted. Which makes things painfully laggy if you already literally can't take a step without being on top of somebody. And oh my gosh. Trapping people with Ice Wall. That was another… prank, I'll call it, that people would do. I think you'll still lag like MAD if you attack a wall of ice. It's so weird. These days, I prefer servers where it's a bit of a surprise to see someone else in the fields. I'm finding I only want to level up so I can explore fields and not be killed on any game I play. Collecting items is fun, too. Do you play on low-rate servers? That may be why you're encountering so many bots. iRO rates are gross. x_x *plays on super high-rates because NEVER AGAIN* |
Yeah, I stopped playing it when the botting got really bad. [sweat] |
What game are we talking about?
|
Ragnarok Online. o 3o |
never played it [XD]
|
All I had to do was go to Prontera, and people of all levels were there. It's the main town, y'know. The crowds were insane.
If it took you forever to get to level 48 and you were horrible at it, you must've been on a low-rate server. I do not miss that. Did you have to do quests to change jobs? On the ones I like to play, you'll pass level 100 within your first few hours of playing. LOL. It's pointless to bot. I remember once killing a poring and instantly being, what, over level 200? [rofl] Love it‼ The fun is in meeting people and, like I said earlier, exploring. Some take up PvP, but I don't. I don't know if you play private servers or not [sweat] , but if so, you can look for the name of the server on ratemyserver.com (they have a whole listing and a search feature), and you'll see the rates somewhere. "Rates" refers to how much EXP you get from killing monsters and how often items drop. Ratemyserver compares private server rates to the offical servers' rates. I think under ten times the normal experience/drop rates is listed as low-rate. Super high-rate is over 10,000 times! As for official servers, they're probably the same as back when I played one. Really, really low. I don't blame you for getting tired! Bed is looking very appealing now. Good night. |
Yeah, I played on the official servers, never played on one of those private ones. [sweat] I lost my interest in them before I found out about private ones and never bothered to go back to it...wasted way too much money on the game back then. |
I thought we were talking about LaTale... [ninja]
|
Nope [ninja]
|
I played RO until I was tough enough to fight the Wanderer for about 10 seconds, lol.
It was just too much grinding for me, hours spent killing multitudes of enemies, just to have some kid come along and KS me during a big fight. Though I admit is was kind of fun watching newbs get all upset and talk about reporting me for mobbing and then freak out when they saw me slay the whole mob before it could hurt anyone. XD That was fun, at least. |
I think the funniest thing I came across in Ragnarok was when I was in this forest stabbing at little bugs when a group of high-leveled people (all lv. 70 and above, a couple were at lv. 99) who were sitting near a portal talked about using a dead branch to summon something. They were all geared up in anticipation for whatever powerful monster would come out and this assassin had a whole bunch of powerups equipped or cast and then they used the twig and...out came this level 6 tree stump monster. |
That's pretty funny, yeah. XD
|
lol Yeah, the assassin just sort of stared at the tree stump for a few moments before sitting down and ignoring it (since her speed was high enough that none of the attacks were hitting), using a bunch of sulky emotes. [XD] |
I remember a little boy falling in love with me in RO, because I was higher-level but took pity on him in the caves and saved him... I wound up tanking for him so he could level up, and he gave me an insanely powerful sword, then tried to get all sappy-mushy on me...
I'm like, what are you, like 12? I'm not making out in the troll caves with you! |
lmao What the hell?! [rofl] |
I totally kept the sword, too. It's not like he could have taken it back from me, anyway...
|
ANTA, THAT DEAD BRANCH STORY WAS PERFECT. I'M HEADDESKING LAUGHING.
When I found out about private servers, I was like, IJDSF; WHERE DO I SIGN UP‽ They make life so much easier. Everything you don't like to do because it's hard/boring is just a few clicks away. No wonder you guys got annoyed. I don't put money into games. I'm not allowed, but even if I was, I wouldn't. Habit. I forgot what it was like to play RO with other people. I do not miss KSers and high-level bullies. Now everyone gets high-level if you give it a little bit, so there's no point in bullying the low-level people. I need somebody to travel with, not level or do competitions with, and I'll be happy~ |
I've seen people summon yellow grass too, which is hilarious because dead branch summons are automatically hostile, and grass have super high speed but no damage, so you see a huge amount of 0's going over the assassin's head (yep, came across another assassin playing with dead branches) while the assassin also does a bunch of 0's because of the grass's high evasion. [rofl] |
Oh my gosh‼ I would love to see that. Halp. [rofl] It's funny stuff when Misses and 0s are flying over an assassin's head. Unless, of course, you are that assassin.
I mainly play as a mage, so I'd just get her and obliterate it. Then again, official server >>, so just getting my mage to the same location as the plant would be way too hard. Like I said, I was there before they went pay. I was there in the beta days and after, up until they went pay. I was so upset, but then PRIVATE SERVERS GAVE MY LIFE BACK. IN AN IMPROVED FORM! [squee] |
I tried RO-2 beta, but I had to break Korean federal law to do it... They were being all "Korean Only!" about it...
So I lied and pretended I was a Korean citizen... And then I didn't like it as much as the original RO... |
The official RO2 isn't nearly as great. I don't like that at some points you HAVE to team up with others to do the quest-based leveling. Disgusting. I don't care if it's an online game. Let me play any way I want unless you're gonna sell the game offline! Plus, it was brand-new, so it was glitchy.
Before that, there was another version of RO2 I played on a private server that looked totally different. It was pretty nice. I had such an adorable character~ |
