The large doors swung open without a sound. Hand covering his face, the male clad in red and black emerged into the streets. Muttering to himself, he cursed the lack of skill he was facing these days. These "Pokemon Trainers" and so called "Masters" just weren't cutting it. Hell, the last three that came in didn't even make it past his sister, Renee. As if on cue, Renee came bursting from the same doors and flew down the steps. Tailing behind her was a Gallade that seemed a tad concerned about its partner's state of mind.
Colliding into her older brother, Renee let out a panting cry. "Nii-san, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to kick their butt. Please don't hate me! You just told me to weed out the wimps. I'm only doing what you asked!" Hands flailing, the Gallade behind her started to mimic the girl's moves. "Even Gale is sorry! He didn't mean to, right Gale?" Her cherry red eyes looked over at her disheartened partner. "Now look what you've done! You've made Gale depressed." Rushing to her Pokemon's side, she cupped the 'mon's face in her hands. "There there, Gale, it'll be alright." Aiden, watching with a brow cocked the entire time, shook his head lightly at their antics. "I'm not mad, Renee. I'm just shocked that these past few trainers weren't capable of taking down Gale." Moving toward the blade Pokemon, he gave it a good pat. "But it is our duty to prevent the League from getting useless trainers. That's why they hired me, remember? They were sick of announcing winners. Since we've arrived, we've helped produce some top-notch trainers." "We've also taught those newbs just how to fight. It's not about the heart of the cards or fate, it's all about the bond." Hand reaching out to her brother's own set, she squeezed them lightly before smiling. "One day you'll meet a worthy opponent. Until then, let's work on getting you a date for the PokeBall." "Eh?! You're at that again?" Hand raising to massage his temple, Aiden let out a strained breath. "Sis, how many times do I need to tell you, I'm not going." "You have to go! It's a requirement! You're the guest of honor! Or did you forget you're kind of a big deal?" Her hand tapped in annoyance on her crossed arms. "Sometimes I think they promoted the wrong person." "Psh, like Gale could overthrow Dante." A red beam of light shot from Aiden's hip. Within moments, a black and orange Pokemon appeared. Horns sharp and claws ready, the Houndoom barked happily at its owner. Tail wagging, Dante moved forward to take a seat beside Aiden. "Egads, Gale! It's the enemy!" Putting on her battle face, her fingers flew forward as if commanding an attack. Gale, completely disregarding his trainer, sauntered on over to the Dark/Fire Pokemon and took a seat beside him. Nuzzling cheeks, the two happily glanced up at their trainers. "Gale! You traitor! How dare you," her face burned red and soon her mouth erupted with laughter. "Oh you two are too freaking cute!" "Hey now, we're supposed to be the 'cool' and 'annoying' gym. Not the 'cute' and 'cuddly' gym." Playfully giving the Houndoom a kick, Aiden poked out his tongue before taking a seat beside his partner. Renee joined him on the steps too. "How about her? She's pretty." Index finger pointing out at a blue haired lady, she turned to Aiden with a cocky grin. "Want me to get you a date with her?" From the way the blue haired woman walked, it was pretty obvious she wasn't used to her newly sized breasts. As they bounced up and down, Aiden found himself growing wary of his sister's ability to successfully score him a date. Growling like the Houndoom, he smacked Renee. "I would prefer someone who wouldn't keep me a boob's length away." "Okay, okay! Hmmm, what about..." Renee's orbs danced over the crowd. Landing on a cute lass with brilliant white hair and a cute outfit, she smiled. Grin going from ear to ear, she cupped her hands over her mouth. "Hey you," she shouted, "yes you with the white hair! Come here! I need to hook you up with my br-aaahhhhhh!" Her mouth was being cut off from the world and Aiden's legs were wrapped around her arms to prevent Renee from breaking free. "You idiot! You can't just scream at people like that!" Completely obvious to the face that Gale had gone down to escort Vivian to the siblings, the gym leader would be quite shocked when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. "What!" he barked in annoyance. Turning to see who dared disturb him, he stared up into the pretty face of the green-eyed Vivian. Frozen, he fought to find something to say. Nothing came but awkward silence and darting, nervous eyes. |
The day was bright as the sun beamed down, brilliant light reflecting off the glassy buildings. A young girl walked out of the grocery store, carrying only a small bag a vegetables that would be used as treats for her companions. A furret lazily walked next to the girl, her face was shining with joy. "Fuuuret!" The small pokemon squeaked. |
Still caught off guard by everything, Aiden was late to respond. Renee, however, was not so slow. Almost instantly, she was grabbing Vivian's hands and explaining everything.
"Well, you see, my brother here needs a date for the regional PokeBall. Being the gym leader of Quinnor City, he has to attend. Right now, he's dateless. He's been dateless. Since you look super cute, I figured why not ask you." Grabbing Aiden's ear, she dragged the boy down to her level. "So whatcha think? Yes? He's quite handsome. Want to see his abs?" Before Vivian could answer one way or another, Renee was unbuttoning her brother's shirt. Thankfully, Aiden regained control of the situation. Dante, the Houndoom, seemed to be rather in-sync with his partner and was already headbutting the sister out of the area. Down the stairs she rolled, leaving Gale with a bewildered look on his face. Scooping up his partner, the blade Pokemon ran down the road, not daring to return for he could feel the licking burn of fire chasing him. With Dante removing the pesky sister, Aiden was left to fend for himself. Hand running through his hair, he relunctantly looked Vivian over. She was cute as a button, but was cute really his style? Not really. Just look at his team -- the destruction Pokemon, a hell hound, a clawed weasel, a judo Pokemon, a fiery bird human, and a thug-like Pokemon. Yeah, nothing 'cute' about his crew. If anything, Aiden preferred the badass look. Vivian was far from that, especially with the Furret around her neck. "Just ignore her," he stated calmly while his Absol appeared. "She gets these crazy ideas and spews nonsense. Isn't that right, girl? Isn't my sister insane?" The Absol at his side nodded before locking its trained eyes on the small furball around Vivian's neck. "Easy now. You know we're not in the gym. No need to be hostile out here." That didn't seem to help though as the Absol's growl continued. Giving her a firm bop on the nose finally broke the animal from its trans-like growling stance. "I don't think I've seen you around here before." Eyeballing her as if she were a three-headed Charizard, he huffed. "I suppose I should spend less time in the gym. Maybe I should close on Mondays and Wednesdays...." Realizing that Vivian was still there, Aiden exhaled before extending a hand. "The name's Aiden. I apologize for distracting you from your," his eyes checked her person, "shopping." Standing up, Aiden rest his hands on his hips when he saw Dante returning. "Did you run them out of town again?" A happy tail wag confirmed his suspicions. "Well, I have nothing for you," he directed at Vivian. "Do you need anything from me?" |
Eyes widening even more as the strange girl before her had grabbed her brother's ear and began talking about some ball and her brother needing a date, Vivian's eyes darted back, watching the two interact. She had actually jumped back when she realized that that crazy girl was literally going to show Vivian the abs of some guy she didn't even know. "Um.. Wha-?" Before Vivian could complete her question, the Houdoom that was obviously very loyal to its trainer had shoved the red eyed girl away from the scene and chased her and her blade pokemon down the street leaving Vivian alone with this stranger. |
"So you're new in town. I guess that means you don't know the best places to get food," he shrugged toward the grocery bag she carried. "You do know that place is overpriced and the food only lasts a day, right?" Aiden knew that Vivian hadn't a clue about this, but he liked teasing her. She seemed to easy to rile up, especially with how squirmy she and the Furret acted. "I find it odd that our Welcoming Committee didn't share such knowledge with you. I suppose they are being bribed, though."
Patting the Absol and Houndoom on the head, he started down the stairs. Once at the bottom, he glanced back up at the woman. "Are you coming? It's only right that you learn about the best places in town. Wouldn't want you to waste all your money in one place. Lady Anne's Mart is the best place in town. Everything is organic and home grown, without chemicals or dyes. Your Pokemon will be much happier with this stuff. And, it's cheaper." Dante nodded in approval. As if showing off his fur coat, he let it glisten in the warm sun. From where Vivian stood, she probably stay the dark Pokemon's fur sparkle and shimmer in the light. "And the Pokemon Center around here is always packed, so let me show you a nice place to restore your partners. It's where I drop my friends off." Absol seemed pleased by this statement and started yelping and yipping. "Yes, yes, you can play fetch with Christoper when we get there." Before taking another step forward, Aiden figured he should probably inquire if Vivian even wanted to see these places. He could only imagine what was running through her mind. Scary man with scary Pokemon taking me to some unknown place. Yeah, he could see how sketchy it was. But, he was a Gym Leader. If anything, it should be a redeeming title and someone you could trust and believe. Still, the two dark Pokemon at his side weren't the most convincing crew in the world. Perhaps he should let out Sneasle? Erm, that was a bad idea. Sneasle was a nasty Pokemon and would surely start a fight. Dante and Absol would have to do for now. "I understand if you're busy. You can always come back here whenever you want something. As Gym Leader Aiden Bane, it is my duty to make sure the people of Quinnor have a wonderful stay. Granted, don't think me a pushover in the gym. You'll find I'm far annoying in there than I am out here." Suddenly a shrill came from nowhere and three ladies were throwing their arms around Aiden. Houndoom and Absol stepped back and exchanged a look of confusion. Just who were these people and why were they crying? Was it time to step in and save their leader? They supposed so. Tails waging at the tip only, the two Pokemon let a low rumble come from their throats. Horns pointed at the ladies, they approached slowly and with deliberate advances. Getting the cues, the girls stepped back and sheepishly laughed. "Sorry, we just wanted to touch Bane. He's so dreamy. Bane, can we get a picture with you. Please?!" Reluctantly signing, he stepped in for one of those "selfie" pictures with the trio. Pleased with the picture, they skipped away, allowing Dante and Absol to lower their guard. "I need to invest in earmuffs or something. I swear, if one more person screams in my ear, I will go deaf...." Adjusting his tie and smoothing out his hair, Aiden's attention fell back toward the woman from earlier. If she were still around, he would lead her to the places he spoke of. If she seized the chance to flee without saying goodbye, he would just go there on his own. Either way, he needed to restock his supplies. |
As if embarrassed, Vivian slid her bag of vegetables behind her back and sighed, "Eh, so you caught me then. I have no idea where anything is in this town really." She laughed awkwardly and rubbed the back of her head with her free hand, "I guess it was a disadvantage that I wasn't told anything about the place, but I figured that over time I would learn on my own.." |
Aiden found himself smirking at her comments and concerns. "I have no reason to lie. Besides, it would be frowned upon if I did." It was true, as a gym leader he was expected to be a cut above the rest. He was to be honorable and kind. His whole purpose was to teach compassion and bravery with a side of friendship and honor. From the way Vivian carried herself, Aiden knew she wasn't in need of any real life lessons. Although, from the corner of his eyes, he swore he saw her frown a few times. Perhaps she missed her old home? It wasn't his place to pry or ask, but he did want to know what really lead her to move here. Did she have family this way? Did she want to start anew?
"So what brings you to Quinnor? Friends? Family? Love?" Winding down a few alleyways, his Houndoom took it upon himself to bring up the rear. It's not like these alleyways would be dangerous or anything. For the most part, Aiden's district was pretty safe. The fact that Aiden patrolled the streets with his trusty dogs probably helped keep crime low. Still, it was by nature that Dante would trot along at the back. You know, just in case? There was a bit of silence between them for a while. Aiden mused it was because he struck a nerve or pried too much. "Don't feel obligated to tell me anything. I'm just trying to make conversation." Hand waving to the side, he stopped before a red door. "If you ever need help, this is where I live. I tend to be up late and rise early. But my door is open to all who need me." Beckoning her forward again, the gym leader continued down that same side street. "Once you pass the red door, my door, you go two blocked straight and one block right. To your left, you'll see a large, open cafe. That place serves the best breakfast in town. If you take a left past it, you'll wander down another side street and land at a quaint area beside a pond. The building behind the pond is the place I speak of. It's a mom and pop shop. They grow all their own food in the greenhouse out back." They hadn't quite made it to the cafe yet, but Aiden saw no harm in telling her what to look for. Making that first right, he pointed on down the street. "The cafe's just down there. You can smell the bakery goods from a mile away. They usually have stuff on sale after 5PM. They close promptly at 6 so if you want to snag some deals, that's the best time to buy your bread and pastries." Hoping he wasn't being over talkative, Aiden ruffled the fur atop Absol's head. "The PokeMed is further down this road. If you walk two more blocks and bang a right, it'll be right there on the corner. We can go there after I show you the path to the store." |
Pushing a few strands of her fair hair behind her ears, Vivian had continued to follow Aiden as she had said she would. Perhaps it would do her good to be talking with someone for once and not alone in her apartment or alone, well, just alone anywhere else. She wasn't used to having good company, so the change was refreshing, even if it was someone like Aiden. |
Spending time with Vivian was a refresher. He was so used to being with his sister that the new company was welcomed. Too bad it came to an end. A phone started to go off and its tone meant one thing -- someone made it to the final stage of the gym. Someone was waiting to fight Gym Leader Bane. Excusing himself, Aiden stepped aside to answer the phone.
"It'll be a few before O show up. I'll send Dante and Absol in to stall for me." Sliding the phone back into his pocket, he gave Vivian a frown. "Sorry to cut our tour short but it looks like I'm needed back at my gym." Glancing down to his Pokemon, he gave Dante a good head rub before patting his Absol on the head. "You're up, Abs. Listen to Dante and you should stall enough for me." As soon as he was done talking, the two Pokemon went barreling away. Aiden started to run after them, but stopped for a moment. Awkward silence overcame them and a light red came to his cheeks. Quickly turning away, he stammered out, "You're welcome to watch, if you want." Not waiting for an answer, he continued on down his path toward the gym. A few seconds later, the bar where Aiden left Vivian standing in front of was loud with cheering screams. Streaming on the TV was the battle. This punky looking kid was impatiently tapping his foot before Bane's throne. "Are you serious? He's not even here. What kind of gym is this!" As he rolled his eyes, the doors behind the throne burst open. Out popped Houndoom and Absol. Houndoom jumped onto the throne and Absol trotted down to the battle field. The challenger just cocked a brow before laughing. "Ummm, what's this?" A familiar face popped onto the screen. It was Renee. "Your opponent. Go on, defeat Absol." Hands sliding over her chest, Renee smirked at the camera. "Well," she coaxed him on. "I'm not fighting a Pokemon without a trainer!" His hand flew toward the Absol. "It's against the rules!" "Right. So explain how you caught your Pokemon? Yeah, that's what I thought. Besides, Houndoom is calling the shots so it's not like Absol is just fighting on her own." The folks in the bar started cackling. It was clear that Renee was just as popular as her brother. The challenger rolled his eyes reluctantly. "Psh, fine. I'll beat this Absol. It should be easy." Grabbing a Pokeball, he tossed it onto the field. Out popped a Leavanny. "Show 'm why you're the best," the kid scoffed from the sideline. Sure enough, the battle began. As it played out on the screen, it became evident that Aiden wasn't showing up. Had he been delayed by something? Or was he purposely stalling? Either way, things were starting to look bad for the Absol. Between the Energy Ball, Double Team, and Bug Bite, Absol was starting to lose its luster. Sure enough, the challenger took the final strike, which dropped the chaos Pokemon. "Aww yeah! That's it, Leavy! You did it." Whirling around, his hand went flying out toward Renee. "My badge, please?" "Dante, use Flamethrower. Bug his buggy ass to crisp." Although Aiden was nowhere to be seen, his voice rung throughout the gym and it projected well on the TV screens too. The people watching in the bar started to lean toward the screen with anticipation. Sure enough, Aiden came whirling down from the ceiling. The second his hand made contact with the ground, the Houndoom unleashed a fiery mess. The challenger's face was priceless. He looked crushed. Gawking at Aiden's masked face and flowing cap, the kid could only step back in awe. He was more impressive in person than one could believe. He glowed and looked oh so wicked. Everything about the moment was flawless, too. The Leavanny took an instant KO and Houndoom proudly puffed his chest out before dropping his rear on the ground below him. Aiden, lifting his head, joined Houndoom in his heroic stare off into the distance. Clapping came from Renee's direction. "All me to introduce, Gym Leader Bane! Kiddo, if you thought his Absol was a walk in the park, you ain't seen nothing. His Houndoom is peerless in its might. Good luck and don't cry too much when he squashes you like the bug you are." The rest of the battle went without much excitement. Houndoom successfully took out four of the six and the last two were taken out by a sly Sneasel. Dropping to his knees in defeat, the challenger looked up with teary eyes. "You... you... you." The words just weren't coming. "You're too cocky kid. You trust in yourself too much, but you have no faith in your partners. Believe in them and then you'll go far. Until then, you'll never get past me." It would take some time for the words to sink in, but they would in time. As soon as the kid left, Bane cocked a brow at his sister. With the cameras off, he started to lecture. "How the hell did you let a kid like that beat you! Are you crazy? That wasn't even worth my time. So glad I arrived late." Rolling his eyes, Aiden stepped backwards and took a seat on his throne. "What is with everyone these days. They all walk around like they have a Rhyhorn up their butt...." If you want, you can have Vivian watch him from the bar or follow him to the gym. If not, we can just time skip a day and have them bump into one another at the grocery store. :) |
The sun was reaching it's evening descent as Vivian was left standing alone as Aiden answered his phone. She knew the phone call be the end of an evening she had actually began to enjoy. ---------- Decided to change it up a bit. ;) |
Eyes scanning the stadium, Aiden couldn't help but notice that the girl from earlier was nowhere to be seen. A frown happened to appear on his face and Renee wasn't one to miss it.
"Falling for the pretty little miss, are we brother?" Ruffling the blond's hair, she skipped back to avoid his growling. "Hey now, the heart wants what the heart wants. Don't get pissy with me, mister!" "Oh please, Renee. I'm not falling for anyone. I would rather date Dante." Planting a firm kiss on the Houndoom's head, Aiden jeered. "Besides, she's not my type. Too delicate and sweet. I would prefer a fiery redhead or a dark lolita." Aiden found himself thinking about Vivian a bit more now that he was coming up with his desire types of women. Even though she didn't fit his desired categories, she was a breath of fresh air. There was something charming about her innocence. Not to mention, she seemed to have a rather admirable bond with her furret. "Okay, okay. You don't have to love her, but you should at least try to get her to go as your date to the ball. She seems like the kind of girl that would love to dance the night away with a beautiful stranger." Joking aside, she stepped forward. "Besides, she looks troubled. There's something in her eyes that screams she's alone. She could use a friend." "Friend?" Brow creeping up, he scoffed before patting the Houndoom. "I don't need those. I have Dante and Abs. Why would I need more?" Turning away, he sighed. "Besides, ties like that can lead to heartache. Not really something I want to experience again." A tongue came to his hand, which caused him to smile. "I think it's best if I just stay me. I don't need to be bogged down by rules. I just want to be free. Free to do as I like. Free to go places. I just... I just need to be me." "You know, you don't have to change for someone...." Renee was started to grow irritated at her brother. "You change because you want to. Not because you're commanded to." "Well, the past is in the past. I don't want to go back to that life." Raising his left hand, he idolized his ring-less finger. "Being alone never bothered me anyway." Rolling her eyes, Renee stomped off and out of the gym. Around that same time, Aiden started to realize that he was the only one in the gym, save for his Pokemon. Exhaling, he looked over at Dante. "Am I wrong to fear that again? Is it wrong to not want to let someone in again?" Pushing off his chair, he rose his hands to the ceiling. "Ugh! I don't think I should be forced into such petty things! If I wanted to be controlled by those fears, I would still be with her. I would still be afraid. I would be forced to obey her rules." Whirling around, his fist smashed into the chair. "No! I refuse to go back to that life! I don't care if Renee's pissed. I didn't ask for this kind of honor or fame. And I sure as hell don't want to be see twirling someone around that I'm not even interested in." Stomping his foot, he snorted before yelling in the empty gym. With his voice contained within the thick walls of the gym, no one could hear his screaming. "I swore I would rise like a Moltres and begin anew. I'm not about to let my future slip from my fingers over a dance or some girl I don't even know." Thrusting himself toward the dark pokemon, he stroked Dante lightly. "Am I right boy?" Bolting from beneath his hands, the Houndoom ran toward the exit. Within seconds, he was gone. A dazed look crossed Aiden's face. What just happened? Was this his doing? Was he alone because he pushed everyone away? Hand moving to his chest, he gripped the promise ring he hid beneath his clothing. At one point, he was going to purpose to a girl. Only, he became dark. He became angry. He became trapped in his fear of being with someone. Aiden spent so much time alone that he started to let that darkness turn him. He was enraged by his own lack of vision and clarity that he took action and soon destroyed everything he once loved. It was actually the reason he sought out fire, dark, and fighting Pokemon. Out of all the rest, these misunderstood creatures shared his pride and wrath. And now, Houndoom was gone. Sitting there on the floor, Aiden flopped backwards to stare up at the ceiling. "Oh Aiden, what am I going to do with you?" After leaving Aiden behind in the gym, Dante kept on running. He wasn't sure why, but he didn't dare stop. There was something that called his name. As he ran by, Renee caught a glimpse of the Pokemon. Instantly, she run after him. Before long, she and the fire/dark Pokemon were before a lonely bench on a lonely street. Clawed paws propping up on the bench, Dante cocked his head to the side as he stared down at the weeping girl. "Arrf!" he barked before nuzzling her. Renee, just rounding the corner, gasped at the sight before her eyes. "Oh my heavens! Miss, are you okay!" Running to her side, Renee patted Houndoom before planting a kiss on his nose. "Good boy, Dante. Good boy!" Returning her focus back to Vivian, Renee pushed some of her hair behind her ear before squatting on the ground before the bench. At this angle, she realized just who she was looking at. "You! You're the girl from this morning. Oh my gosh, what happened? Are you okay? Hurt? Lost?" Renee's mind raced with questions. "Did..." she couldn't believe she was about to say this, "Did Aiden hurt you?" |
A poison was seeping through her mind as Vivian sat alone on the bench. A poison so thick it clouded her judgment, left her in tears, and caused her already jumbled mind to become a catastrophic tornado of painful memories and agony. She had moved here to start over, she had hoped that with this move she could become stronger, she cold put the past behind her, "Never again." She cried to herself, "I can't. I can't fall prey to..to..anyone again." |
"Oh thank heavens. I was about to march back tot he gym and kill that brother of mine if he dared hurt a pretty little miss like you." Renee's attempts to cheer someone up were a tad unorthodox, but at least she meant well. The woman's hand pet the Houndoom lightly. In those stroking motions, she seemed to lose herself, save for the robotic-like voice that moved her lips. "I saw Dante run off and I just had to follow him. Dante's the hero of the night and he's usually pretty good at sensing when something is afoot. He must have smelled your tears and came to your aid. Being a Houndoom, I figured it might be best if I run along to see what was up." Snapping to herself again, she flashed Vivian a grin. "So glad I did. I would hate to see this meanie scaring you and your adorable little Furret."
A bark came from Dante. "Oh I tease. I know you're a good boy, but not everyone trusts a dark-Pokemon, surely you know that. Right, boy?" Scratching his chin, Renee took a seat beside Vivian. "So you got yourself twisted and turned about. Shall I draw you a map? I know when I first moved here, I got super lost. I ended up in another district. Had Aiden not spent two nights searching for me, I'm not sure I would have been found." Seizing the chance to up-talk her brother again, Renee elbowed the woman. "You should be lucky only Dante came to your aid. Could you imagine if my brother was here?" A cackle snort came from the other woman. "He's one of those guys who doesn't know how to react to a crying woman. He's also terrible when it comes to flirting. If you hit on him, he'll get all speechless." A warm tongue was pressed again Vivian't knee. Dante was doing his best to calm her nerves. "Eww, Dante! No one wants slobber on their knees." Swatting the Houndoom away, she laughed. "Dante's just as clueless as Aiden. Oi, I'm surrounded by idiots!" Hopping off the bench, Renee extended Vivian a hand. "C'mon, I'll walk you home. It's getting late and I'm sure you're exhausted. I just need your street and I can get you home." A wagging tail whacked into Vivian's leg a few times, a surefire sign that Dante would be accompanying the ladies on their walk home. "He must really like you. He never gets that excited." |
Vivian couldn't help but chuckle quietly to herself as she listened to Renee go on and on. It was nice. Vivian certainly enjoyed the company of another female, she hadn't had any and she hadn't really even talked to many other women as of late. It was comforting. |
The more she listened, the more a scowl grew on her face. "Aiden just up and left you! Talk about being a jerk. Ugh, I will totally have a word with him. And, as punishment for leaving you all alone in a strange place, I'm making him buy you dinner." She smirked. "I'll pick a nice little spot. Nothing super fancy and something that welcomes Pokemon. Just you leave it all to me."
Looping her arm through Vivian's, Renee started to march forward. "No side streets for you until you learn the main ones, okay? The main ones have signs. These back alleyways don't so it's easy to get twisted and turned about. I'll get you to the gym from here and then you can probably find your way home." As she walked with the girl, Renee had to wonder just why she had given up and decided to just cry. It's not like she couldn't knock on doors and ask for help. Heck, if she kept walking she probably would have stumbled onto the main street. Brow arched upward, she finally dared to ask the question. "So why did you decide to collapse on the bench? Long day? Or is there something else that's wrong?" She wouldn't pry just yet, but Renee certainly wanted to know what was up with the girl. It just wasn't natural. |
