Chexie's Pub Night! ~ Now with music!
Hi everyone, looks like it's time to enjoy a Paddy's Day mini event! Come hang out with me in The Brazen Head pub, which is officially the oldest pub in Dublin! http://www.blogcdn.com/www.gadling.c...2011/02/bh.jpg There's space for feasting, drinking, music making, and general merriment! Huzzah! |
Music for your listening pleasure! The steerage party from Titanic! Nearly an hour of Irish jigs and reels (a.k.a. dance music): |
Hey nice, we are the firsts... I think we set ours up at the same time haha.
|
Great use of the new robes, Chex! :)
|
I'm liking all the different avatars I'm seeing from this event!

Green is indeed an awesome color, especially with so many shades. And it's just in time for spring!
Well. For some of us. For some of us it's still firmly winter. |
My area is vigorously moving into spring, it seems. Which is actually kinda bad, because we didn't get enough winter rain this year. Still, the weather is lovely out today, so I can't complain too much!
|
Oh I do love merriment! :)
|
Merriment is quite fun! I should track down some music for the purpose of merriment. :D
|
Yeah, we haven't had near enough rain either this year, they're calling drought already. I think it's rained like three times since August? Something like that.
Ah yes, music and merriment do go hand in hand! But today it must be Irish music! |
I am searching out some good fun celtic music as we speak!
|
Me too. Celtic music is fun, especially the instrumental stuff.
|
I actually really prefer the Irish rock bands these days.
|
@Woofie: Yeah. My mom is a fiddler, so I grew up listening to that music. It seemed like my whole childhood was reading in the corners of people's living rooms while everyone drank and played jigs. [heart]
@steel: I'm not as familiar with that music. Got any band recommendations? |
Oh wow that sounds so fantastic! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE9xYUmPaZ0 That isn't exactly Celtic music but it reminds me of Celtic music with the themes and such.
Also, for an Irish rock band I listen to Flogging Molly. Very popular now I know but I like their stuff. Especially Devil's Dance Floor. |
This is a pretty good start: 5 Celtic Rock Bands You Should Know - Recommendations - Fuse
You may not like any of them if you're more fond of classical music. ---------- Post added 03-15-2014 at 05:41 PM ---------- Quote:

I'll go check out that music, thanks guys!
I love traditional celtic folk music, but I like rock too, so I'm sure I'll like celtic-rock. :D ---------- Post added 03-15-2014 at 04:25 PM ---------- Oh man, of course! I totally forgot about that Gaelic Storm track from Titanic! I love that part. :D |
I should check some of these out, too. :I
|
I only keep anime music and certain sound tracks...
|
I like Pandora. xD
|
Pandora? Let me guess... a band name? XD
What is celtic music? What makes a celtic music, celtic music? The origin of the band? or certain tempo? or instrument? |
Naw. Pandora is that radio station.
|
whaa~~~ I lost in the guess again?
XD Better than saying it is a woman. |
