Haha, what a pansy bird. Silly little guy. Especially with a name like Bluebeard. He should be brave!!

@Fuu-chan, Oh yeah, it makes everyone I know mad when people just abandon their dogs because they're moving.

MoodyBats 06-08-2014 12:45 AM

@Steel
I love animals with all of my heart so I could never abandon my pet.
It would be hard enough if i had to give it to a shelter cause i wouldn't be able to take care of it. ;3;
Which is why i do not plan to get a pet until after college.
And I will see where I am in that point in my life if I can afford a pet or not.
Not just money wise but time wise as pets need lots of attention.

I am not much of a dog person but i am very much a cat person.
Cats are my life ;__;

I can relate very much to this. *wipes tear* Except I can't stand dogs at all.

I am terrified of larger dogs.
So I only feel safe around smaller dogs that are nice
like my cousin's dog penny.

Large dogs terrify me as i was kind of attacked by a germane Shepard when i was about 10 i think.
So I just prefer cats. And i get along with cats better.

We have had cats since I was really little, and I am very used to them. I can not really say the same for dogs, I am still fond of dogs, but not as much as cats, especially since I got hurt by a dog when I was about four or five (I was being stupid, though, so it was slightly justified, and I was not severely injured). Also, I do not think I have met more than maybe one or two cats that disliked me in my entire life (I can almost say the same about dogs, but still), so I love cats, they love me, all is fine. [:)]

steelmagghia 06-08-2014 01:10 AM

I love all animals. I was in vet school for a year...I was going to be a vet. But then my depression made it so I couldn't continue. Now I just do everything I can to be with and around animals in some capacity. I have two dogs and a cat as well.

Amane 06-08-2014 01:22 AM

I don't like any size. They all scare me horribly. I'm afraid of every animal, even cats (it's a phobia), but dogs are one of the kinds I'm especially afraid of. I've had too many bad experiences with dogs, and they do too many things that gross me out. :U

steelmagghia 06-08-2014 01:24 AM

You know cats do gross things too, Amane. :P

Amane 06-08-2014 01:27 AM

But dog gross things… x_x

steelmagghia 06-08-2014 01:39 AM

Cats like their butts and genitals too, they will territorially poop, they will lick you, they walk in their own toilet, and in fact often touch their waste in order to get it buried, they often vomit up a hairball and then re-eat the hairball or sometimes leave it for you to step in, and both males AND females can urine mark (though males do it more).
Every bit as gross as dogs. Heck, my cat even drools when you pet him.
I just ignore the gross bits of my pets because I love them.

Amane 06-08-2014 01:50 AM

Of course I know cats do gross things. HUMANS do things I think are gross! I'd much rather deal with a cat.

I can totally relate to the being hurt by a dog.
I've been bitten at least twice by dogs.
Me and dogs are just a no.

I hardly meet cats that don't like me.
My sister's friend had a cat that would bite
but biting is actually another sign of them
showing affection for you.
And it didnt really hurt. XD

I hardly find cats that don't like me.
They love me. They love my pets and love sitting in my lap *v*
I want a cat that loves pets and loves sitting in my lap. xD

My sister is thinking of becoming like a nurse to the vet like they assist in the surgeries and such.
She also plans to volunteer at shelters.
No kill ones specifically.

I was a vet tech for awhile. I really enjoyed it. Volunteering at no kill shelters is noble. A rescue would be good too.
(this is my mule, fyi)

My sister watches a live stream of a Rescue center of cats called "Friends Of Feline Rescue Center.
I think my sister is going to volunteer at either a rescue center
or a no kill shelter.
i forgot which one it was.
In my state we don't have many of either which is very sad.

Amane 06-08-2014 02:07 AM

Is there any special reason Ghia has come to play with us?

~LONGCAT~ 06-08-2014 02:14 AM

Maggie, Bluebeard has a healthy sense of skepticism and paranoia because he only has one eye. :P

We have a lot just in this city. But there are a TON of vets in this city too. It's kind of a weird place. :D We also have a wildlife rehabilitation center which I occasionally volunteer at.

Steel is feeling broke, so Ghia needed to get some game goldies for the day.

That would do it. Haha. Bluebeard sounds like my kind of bird.
We had the parakeets at the vets office (they boarded occasionally). I hated them so much because of how adventurous they were.

There is not a whole lot of good shelters where i live specifically.
Most of the humane society we have here will kill the animals if something is wrong with them like if they have a disease.
Like CH or something that isn't a terminal illness.

~LONGCAT~ 06-08-2014 02:21 AM

He's not adventurous at all! In fact if we take him out of his cage he will jump down and try to go back to it!

We have two no kill animal shelters, but here's the reason why a kill shelter is needed: our no kill animal shelters almost NEVER have room available. Because people don't adopt at the same speed that animals are available. So in order to get good, adoptable animals off the streets, they gotta put the ones down that have any problem. Unfortunate reality, but there it is.

Hehe, nice. I like birds that I don't have to worry about flying all over the vet's office and getting killed.

Amane 06-08-2014 02:27 AM

I was supposed to take up playing the games on Amane and my mule for three days in a row. [blush]

steelmagghia 06-08-2014 02:33 AM

Haha, clearly that didn't happen Amane?

ClockReject 06-08-2014 02:34 AM

~LONGCAT~ 06-08-2014 02:35 AM

Yeah, the vet we took him too said he did very well. He knows "up-up" and "go on" so it was easy for them to weigh him. And we keep his feathers trimmed so he's less inclined to try going for a joy flight.
