Perfectly understandable, Love! I'm kinda eh, on the giving that sorta things to children. But three is waaaay too young for me to even do it. I just know as a five year old, having horrendous allergies, and my parents giving me antihistamines. Which sent me straight to sleep. Since that's what they do, if you take too many. Doesn't hurt you, just makes you sleepy.
But yeah, if you don't take any unless forced, you won't give any to your kid :3

Sorry for the uber late reply - I had a kid emergency that I had to take care of without warning.
Thing is - I see that as being way different. You had allergies. My daughter doesn't. I can understand giving a child who has allergies things to try to help with it - even if it made them fall asleep. But for me, giving my daughter who has nothing wrong with her other than growing up and not wanting to take a nap even though she really does need one, that to me doesn't warrant EVER giving them anything... no matter what, because the situation doesn't warrant it, even if she was 'old enough' which will never be enough for me, because it's not an option.
