the user's run event is this summer Desert Winds Caravan June 14 through June 21 we hope you have heard. menewsha rare item guide~~a place to look for what you would like raffled! anyway we are running some fund raisers we were wondering, what kind of fund raisers would you like to see? what kind of items would you like to see up for raffles/auctions any suggestions would be much loved! |

I haven't actually participated in any user-run events yet, so I was wondering, how do they actually work?

just like the staff run events only with a lot less bells and whistles. we don't have any event commons or event rares, sadly. but it is a lot of fun because the community, even the staff who get to play instead of work, pull together to help menewsha stay active. we hope you come and check us out. <3

Oooh, thank you hummy! Aganab: We'll have our own forum section for the User Event, just like other events. We have game stickies and contests planned. And there are prizes for a whole lot of things. The only difference is that there are no event items, because that wouldn't be user run then.

i was hoping we could get some great feedback to help with fund raising. i keep meaning to as Wyrmskyld but i keep missing her. so i thought another threadie couldn't hurt, right? i love the panda themed raffle we have going at the moment. i plan to post links to all of the contests and raffles going on. any suggestions you have?

I'm sure she wouldn't mind at all. I was just on Scher trying to garner attention for the Design the Mule contest.
I'm kind of out of ideas at the moment, unless we do another art auction. But I think some of our artists may be kind of tapped out. |

Just from the last auction, it doesn't seem like running it longer makes much of a difference. The vast majority of the bidding happens the last day either way.

Magghiaghia, it is true that the climax of auction is always the last few hours. But having it longer, will allow more time to spread the news, second, more time for the bidders to gather funds.

it's about our user's run event this summer. we had an art auction and it went over really, really well. we were kind of brainstorming and the thought of new artists to offer art to donate the commission to the user run event came up. and i thought of you. [hug] but even any suggestions of what kind of fund raiser you would llike would be so appreciated. like what kind of item would you like to see raffled off?

I will have to study this link to know about items.
I would like to participate though with something a bit simpler than my semi-realistic stuff. I had and still have commissions I need to finish and there is this challenge I'm doing to improve my anatomy skills so I don't have a lot of time to do my semi-realistic style. I hope that's alright. |

What ever fundraisers you can think of, it doesn't matter to me. I'm one of those who will participate in anything.
But as for my suggestions, I think we should do another art fundraiser. (: We got quite a few helpful funds with that. So... that's my suggestion, do another art raising fund. Or maybe we can sell stuff we have extras of and donated some, half or all of the money to the User Event. |
