It's totally okay to talk in here about issues, but if something becomes a two page long issue and no one else has said anything, I almost feel it needs its own thread, ya know?

Elmira Swift 04-26-2014 10:59 PM

Good ~ I can help with some issues related to autism (fyi) in case y'all need help with that in the future.

Understood!

steelmagghia 04-26-2014 11:01 PM

Yes, you're a brilliant source for that one. *hugs* I really appreciate you being sweet and understanding.

Elmira Swift 04-26-2014 11:07 PM

I'm really not all that sweet, y'all! Just ask Soki! I was hoping for a lightbulb moment to help, but it just wasn't happening.

Right now, I am poking around on facebook and keep seeing my friends/family members kids prom pictures (that was a mouthful - hope it made sense!) Kind of mind blowing since I remember when some were just running around playgrounds and thinking members of the opposite sex were "yucky".

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:16 PM

I remeber my prom, it was an amazing night and I wasnt expecting it to be good at all

Elmira Swift 04-26-2014 11:21 PM

I was kind of in awe of hubster's niece's pic. It's kinda choking me up a bit in that silly kooky aunt way.

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:24 PM

hubster? Who's that?

D'awww Elmira that is so cute.
I loved my proms. I love any chance to wear a pretty dress. After senior prom, my parents let us use the house we live in now (it was empty at the time, we had just finished remodeling it) for me to have friends over. They brought up fresh made pancakes and stuff to fix them up. We had a pancake bar and played Scrabble with dirty words until 4am. [rofl] I had a blast.

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:30 PM

aww wow maggy that sounds amazing.
ummm
I turned up to my prom in a milk float?

It was awesome. Haha, wait, what?!?! I need pictures!!

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:32 PM

there are no pictures of that, my dad was a milkman at the time

steelmagghia 04-26-2014 11:33 PM

Awww, dang. That had to be epic.

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:37 PM

No one saw but I retain that fact with pride

steelmagghia 04-26-2014 11:41 PM

My first prom I came in my tiny orange hippy truck (that was fun to stuff a dress into) and the second a minivan.

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:47 PM

Awesome
I only went to one out of my three proms

Elmira Swift 04-26-2014 11:47 PM

Hubster is my partner/2nd "husband". It's easier for me to refer to him like that instead of "the guy I live with/Otto's dad"

I didn't go to prom, but did attend a few formal dances. I had guy friends I'd attend dances with but most of them had crazy girlfriends. Part of me wishes I'd been asked, but the other part of me knows I would have felt very weird stuffed into a dress with foo foo and so on. The formal wear of the 80s were not kind for the curvaceous female.

LiviInLove 04-26-2014 11:53 PM

I went to only one prom, that was years ago - and I didn't really have a good time. Carlie wouldn't let me stay home. xD He told me I needed to go. Heh. LOL. He was always so bossy. [lol]

Eastriel 04-26-2014 11:54 PM

oh yes el, I see. I read you lost your first husband, and I am really sorry to hear that.
I hope all is well for you these days though.

Elmira Swift 04-26-2014 11:55 PM

I think my parents were stoked because I didn't date much. Less drama with them - then they were trying to propel me into the arms of the guys we knew from the Renaissance faires - My parents are crazy beatnik/hippies.

Easty - It's all good! Hubster/Mark and I have been together for 7 years. Otto was a very huge shocker to us because we were both told we couldn't have kids together. The details of my life must look pretty alarming on the surface, but we really are doing well! It's a struggle for sure, yet I don't want to change it!

LiviInLove 04-26-2014 11:56 PM

Heh heh... my sister just texted me this picture - just a random picture offline, and it made me bust up laughing.

I wasn't allowed to go as a 10th grader. I didn't know enough upper classmen. But it's okay...I had two Jr. Cotillion balls, one ninth grade banquet, and two proms by the time I was out of school. I was well danced.

Oh gosh, so true. I've seen 80's formal wear and it's awful!

Hehehe, that is funny.

I had my twin and his friends, who only put up with me because of who my brother was. But it really wasn't my scene.

I saw it and busted up laughing. I wish I had that shirt! [yes]

Eastriel 04-27-2014 12:00 AM

I dance like the tinman in a magnet factory.

It's just a pic she found and sent me. My sister is terrified of being pregnant. xD LOL!
Haha. I got one of those onsies with that on it for Benji and gave it to the boys. [lol] They loved it! [yes]
