Steel: Oh, same here! We're all so ready!! [yes] You have a good night too. :)
hummy: my doctor thought I'd have her by this weekend, but she's being a stubborn baby and deciding that even though she tried to be born early, now she's not ready. -.- Driving me bloody mental! [yes] I'm ready! We're all ready! [yes] |
I hope and Sophia♥is ready to be born it's a very safe and healthy birthday and quick for you lots of Love LiviInlove |
Haha, silly stubborn Sophia. She just wants to keep us all guessing.
|
She really does want to keep us all guessing! [yes] Still pregnant here. I was hoping for this past weekend, but haha, nope. [gonk]
|
I love you guys, just so you know. I'm in a terrible depression funk today. But I love that you guys are here (although I think right now no one is online, but figuratively), for me and each other.
|
[hug] Livi and Steel. Is something causing you to feel down, Steel?
Otto woke with a mild fever this morning, but his temperature was just high enough to keep him home. By the time we went to his pediatrician temperature dropped to normal. He has a sinus infection and passed out on our way home, so I am hoping he wakes soon and won't be up all night long or he may have to stay home again tomorrow. He's like me and his daddy and we are not morning people. Otto doesn't function well if he has less than 9 hours of sleep. |
I hope Otto stops being sick soon. Poor kiddo. I'm forcing myself to go to dance today even though I just want to sleep so I've got to go, but this is basically what's up:

*huge hugs for y'all* [heart]
I've not been around much as I've been in this downright cranky, no fun to be around mood, these last few days. Elmira: I hope that Otto starts to feel better soon. Steel: So sad. :( So so sad! [hug] |
Oh wow, Steel. I cannot imagine what you are going through remembering all of this.
Sorry for coming back on late. I was sucked into a few conversations elsewhere - not on this site. |
Thanks guys. I really appreciate the support. I forced myself to go to burlesque dance class tonight because I figured the movement would help me feel better. It did work a bit, so that's a good thing. [hug]
Luckily the day is almost over and things will get a bit better tomorrow. |
Burlesque and belly dancing? Wow!
I have a friend who does comedy for burlesque shows, however knowing him and his sense of humor (inappropriate and not in a funny way) deterred me from going. Now with kids? Kind of hard to see shows! Are you performing, learning, or both? (we have The Hobbit on and Otto had a bath, so I may be able to stay on here steadily for a while) |
Haha, yeah, not exactly the kind of show you take your kids to. Some burlesque shows are really awesome, though. I'm learning, but I'll perform in the recitals. We don't have a full on show here in the city, so it's just the dancing. But it's so awesome. And I already have corsets. No heels though. I'm kind of terrified about that bit.

> playing Ragnarok II
> go up against boss, die > hey, I have an item that lets me resurrect in place > use it > the boss monster's HP replenishes back to full my reaction: FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU- [illgetu] |
Yes, I think the heels are non-negotiable. I'd like to go see one just so I can say I've gone, plus I like the era that all represents - in theory. Don't think I would have done well living back then. You are still far braver than I am!
Are the styles of dance similar at all? I haven't seen burlesque dancing styles, but have seen a few belly dance performances. |

They're only similar in the amount of hip moving. [lol] Burlesque is freer in movement and involves more large muscle groups. Belly dancing is more controlled and uses small muscle groups. |
My boyfriend's cats got into a huge fight while he was work.
We weren't able to go to the vet this past weekend because he was worried about money. So now I feel like I'm a horrible pet owner for taking so long to have them fixed. They're almost a year old now. I'm going to try to get an appointment for this week, though. I still fell crappy, though. |
OH man, Citrus, I am so sorry to hear that. And I hear you on feeling like a crappy pet owner. One of my dogs hasn't been tested for heart worms since her most recent gap in medication, so I can't even give her the preventative yet, and it's mosquito season. And both of them need shots and dentals. But I can't afford any of that right now.
But I'm doing the very best I can, and that's all you can do. |
The money situation is always an issue with pets. Not irresponsible, just taking care of pet stuff always seems to take a lower priority than buying food or paying bills.
Thinking I may need to call the cops about some weird activity at some of the vacant houses in my neighborhood. We live in a mobile home subdivision - own the land and it's not a trailer park - but some of the other owners just ditched their houses and the banks haven't done a thing about it. So the houses are targeted at times by people who are up to no good. Pretty sure some distribution is going on and the people we see aren't residents of our area. Not cool when there are so many kids around and most of us are just trying to eek out a living here. |
It is hard, especially if you got the pets when you COULD afford everything.
Ugh, I hate it when undesirable people take advantage of a situation like that. We had a problem like that when we lived next door to a house owned by a slumlord when we were little. |
*runs in circles of frustration*
|
Still no Sophia, Livi?
|
Well, when you see enough people walking around your neighborhood who fit the stereotype of meth addicts, it's kind of hard to ignore it. Hubster and I were trying to figure out what to do. We live in a part of a county where we are almost in the city but not. So the police force here is pretty non existent. The people we bought the land from will say they no longer own the land the houses are on (which is often a lie - and I get tired of telling them they are lying to my face). Paternalistic weenies.
This wasn't a bad area when we moved here. It became bad when people couldn't afford to live here and left their houses behind. Then other people came in and bought the houses and lots, turned them into rental properties, and didn't find decent people for tenants. Oddly, it's been quiet around here for a while so I am a bit surprised it's getting bad again. Owners and tenants are good people who work and take care of their houses. We just have too many abandoned properties that the cops aren't looking after. |
You've guessed right, Steel.
Elmira: That sounds hard and frustrating. Do you think that calling the cops to tell them what is going on, or that you think is going on? |
That sounds so frustrating Elmira! And with no real police force, there just isn't much you can do about it. *hugs* Good luck!
Ah! I should do a cheer for her! "Come on Sophia you can do it! Let's get born!" I may squeal every time the commercial for Maleficent comes on. Every. Time. |
