"Seriously. Same lady." Rea shook her head. "I think that was the weirdest thing I've had happen."
"Yeah, that's pretty weird," Bucky said. "I haven't had that one happen yet."
Rea laughed a little. "That's good, you don't want that to happen." She shook her head a bit and took a sip of her coffee.
Bucky snorted.
"One of the guys in my squad joked about casting his... equipment in gold." he commented. "But we all pretty much knew he was joking." |
Rea snorted. "That sounds like the kind of thing a guy would like to do. Any time there's a group of guys, someone brings it up. I mean, girls aren't much better, we just have a slightly different discussion."
"Oh really?" Bucky asked, grinning. "I'm suddenly interested. Do tell."
Rea shook her head, grinning. "Girls tend to discuss things like moontimes, or if there are any mothers present, giving birth. The more disgusting things. Or a college-age group of girls will talk about sex."
Bucky made a face.
"Yeah, no, not interested anymore, stop," he said |
Rea laughed at him outright, grinning like a loon. "I thought so," she said smugly.
"I will stick to junk getting cast in gold, thank you very much," Bucky said. "You can keep your weird girly conversations."
Rea laughed and shook her head. "Benefits of being a girl," she told him smugly. "I can participate in both conversations if I want."
"You do that, I'm good staying outside of that one," Bucky said, still making a face. "Ugh I think I need to bleach my brain somehow."
"Enough coffee will do it," Rea suggested. "There are some other ways, too." She grinned.
"No kidding," Bucky said. He muttered something under his breath about being on a first-name basis with the vodka in the cabinet at home, and then shook himself a bit. "Anyways, off that topic now."
"New topic." Rea considered for a few moments. "There's a new set of workshops starting up soon. I know there are some on metalworking, and glass blowing."
"Really?" Bucky asked, perking up slightly at the mention of the metalworking. "That sounds interesting. Are you going to go to any?"
"I was thinking about it," Rea said. "I don't have a talent for either of those, but I figured knowing the basics of metalworking can never hurt. And I've always wanted to work with glass."
"I've got no talent with glass," Bucky said, shrugging. "But I can do metal." And, if he was honest, glass did sound kind of interesting.
"We can test out glass together, if you want," Rea offered rather shyly. "So we can make fools of ourselves together."
Bucky blinked, and then grinned.
"Sure," he said. "Sounds good." |
Rea grinned. "Good to hear. I don't know if I'll be brave enough to go to all the workshops once I start and make a fool of myself."
"I'll go with you to glass if you come with me to metal," Bucky offered, grinning. "Fair trade?"
"Fair trade," Rea agreed with a grin. "Although I think you'll do worlds better than me in metalworking."
Bucky shrugged.
"So?" he said. "It should still be fun, right?" |
"Hopefully." Rea grinned. "We can stop by the campus any time and sign up. There were a couple others I was looking at too, depending on how much time I think I have."
