Eve blinked as he left.
"That was the weirdest comment," she said to Jaclyn when she found her friend again. "I complimented his costume, and he was like 'who says it's a costume?'" |
"Seriously?" Jaclyn shook her head. "That is weird. Maybe he's larping?"
|
"I dunno, maybe," Eve said. "Some people do at cons."
|
"Yeah." Jaclyn shrugged, watching him take pictures with some other people, and she snapped a few candids of him while she could.
"Well, either way, still awesome." |
"Seriously." Eve grinned. "We should keep track of him, he seems like he's a really good larper."
|
"Yeah really." Jaclyn grinned. "Shouldn't be all that hard to keep track of him for the rest of the day."
|
"Not at all, not with his acting," Eve said. "He's really good."
|
Jaclyn nodded with a bit of a grin.
Over the next few days as the con progressed, the girls kept seeing Deadpool all over the place. He was just having a lot of fun, taking pictures with people, and generally being him. But at the end of the day on the third day of the con, Jaclyn went to go get coffees. "I'm thinking we should take him one, he could probably use it, he got here even before we did." |
"Sure," Eve said. She dug a dollar out of her pocket. "Here, half from me."
|
Jaclyn nodded and took the dollar, going to get a cup of coffee for him. She emerged a few minutes later with the coffee and grinned.
"Shall we, then?" |
"Let's go," Eve replied, nodding. "I think he disappeared outside to the patio."
|
"Awesome, let's go." Jaclyn grinned and headed over to the patio, looking around. He wasn't hard to spot, and she motioned to Eve before walking over.
"Hey, we thought you might like some coffee. You've been here even longer than us." She grinned as she held out the coffee to him. |
Deadpool turned around when he heard them.
"Hey, awesome, free coffee," he said, taking the cup. He didn't drink any yet, though; that would mean lifting his mask, and he wasn't going to do that quite yet. |
Jaclyn grinned a bit. "Free coffee is always a good thing," she agreed. "Especially after a weekend like this one."
And then she paused, along with most of the rest of the city, when a giant robot came out of nowhere and started looking around. Her jaw dropped. |
Eve jumped when the giant robot appeared, eyes going wide. Deadpool, however, just tilted his head a bit.
"Huh," he said. "Didn't expect that one." |
"Didn't expect that one?" Jaclyn repeated, looking at him incredulously. "That's a robot, that does not happen outside the comics."
|
"I know, right?" Deadpool replied. "Here, hold my coffee." With that, he handed the coffee back to her and headed towards the robot.
"What is he doing?" Eve asked faintly, just watching. |
"I have no idea." Jaclyn did keep hold of the coffee though, watching him approach the giant robot. And this was just too weird for words.
|
"I don't understand what I'm seeing," Eve squeaked as she watched Deadpool take down the robot. "This should not be happening."
|
"No, no it should not." Jaclyn's eyes were huge as she watched the robot go down and Deadpool made his way back over to them.
|
Eve's eyes were just as huge as she watched Deadpool come back over.
"What just happened?" she whimpered, glancing from him to the robot and back again. |
"Stupid thing followed me through," Deadpool said with a shrug, taking his coffee back. "Thanks, coffee, awesome."
|
"Followed you through what?" Eve demanded, her voice a bit higher than normal. "What's going on?"
|
Deadpool grinned. "You guys want to see?" he asked excitedly, bouncing a little on the balls of his feet.
|
"See what?" Eve asked. "We don't even know what's going on!"
