Food Glorious Food
Here is the place to talk about food. Food you like, food you dislike, food you want to try and everything in between. If it's about food talk about it here.
|
I really like seafood. Seafood is my favorite. I have a preference towards lobster, crabs, clams, mussels, and kalamari.
Love it. |
I actually despise seafood. When I walk through the fish section in some malls I feel sick, and whenever my dad makes me take fish oil I die a little.
My favourite food would have to be beef tacos. They make me happy. |
One cannot hate seafood. Seafood is Gods gift to those who like to live a little.
Kalamari is my favorite seafood though. It's the best. |
Calamari is awesome. I was eating calamari at age too. I love whole belly clams, and fresh lobster. Scallops are awesome. I love tuna, and salmon. Oh now I want me some sushi.
|
I love most food, honestly, but my favorite is Italian. Then that's followed by Mexican and Chinese. I love some seafood, but mostly shrimp, snow crab, and white fish. Every once in awhile I come across a good clam or scallops and those are super good, too. I don't like lobster or anything like squid or octopus.
|
I was eating squid at age two. True story. I am going out for Mexican tomorrow.
|
Usually it's too chewy for me, but that's more of an "it was overcooked" thing than anything else.
|
I like Italian and Mexican food. [yes] I had a meal in a restaurant in Nottingham once and that place specialised in both Italian and Mexican food, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. [lol] The food itself was delicious too.
I like kalimari, had it quite a bit when I was on holiday in Majorca. That was just the regular battered stuff that looks like onion rings. But I had some in Wagamama's, they do Asian-ish stuff, and that was totally amazing, melt in the mouth tender. I want that again. [drool] |
I did have one bad experience with calamari once, I got food poisoning.
|
Hmm I like food for as long as it is not mushrooms [lol]
I don't about Italian, Mexican, Chinese, blah blah because I can't remember which are which, because I don't really have it often [XD] What I always have is Indian food, and it's hot and spicy, unless my mum makes it without any trace of chillies and what not. I don't like it much because... Hot foods make you sweat [lol] I like sushi though [drool] oh and crabs [drool] and pumpkins, brinjals, cheese burgers [drool] well pretty much everything [ninja] |
I like Indian food, as long as it isn't to spice. I freaking adore sushi. Went and had Mexican food today. Since it is Cinco De Mayo. Love me some Mexican food. Especially from the place I went.

I'm a bit of a picky eater. I'm not a huge fan of veggies or extreme cuisine. I'm a lot more tolerant of new/different foods than I used to be though!
|
I know this autistic kid whose parents make him have a no thank you bite of new foods. He has to try them but then if he doesn't like them he can say no thank you to having more.
|
No thank you bites? [rofl]
|
When I was a kid my dad used to do a similar thing to the "no thank you bites" with me. I would not eat ANYTHING but macaroni and cheese and peanut butter sandwiches as a kid. Getting me to try new things didn't really work for him until I was a teen, though. Now I'll eat just about anything.
|
Yeah. That's what his family calls them.

I also was a super picky eater growing up, refusing anything that "looked gross" often without even trying it. I wonder how much of my preferences were just mental since my tastes have changed completely now. On the bright side, a lot of the foods I hated were stereotypical American junk food (hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, cheese, vanilla ice cream, potatoes, ranch dressing, etc.) so it probably wasn't that terrible for me. I think I ate way too many bread/grains though. I mostly lived off chicken, fruit, bread, rice, pasta, butter, and tuna salad on crackers.
As a teen I gradually broke out of my narrow window of acceptable foods and started trying new things. When I realized that virtually all of my attempts proved that new foods were delicious rather than gross, I basically made it habit to try anything and everything. Now I live in Japan and eat things that a lot of native Japanese find hard to stomach (like raw horse meat, animal organs, etc.) [lol] I'm trying to learn how to cook things properly too so I'm less reliant on processed/semi-prepared foods. |
I found out that I like limburger cheese. There was samples of it at a store and so I thought why not. It was very yummy.
|
If I ever have kids I'll probably start them off on weird foods as young as possible. The goal being that they never go through a picky eater phase.
The stinkiest of cheeses are always the best. <3 |
I never thought I would have liked it. You introduce a new food to kids, then if they don't like it you wait a couple months and introduce it again.
|
Considering I'm working on buffing up and losing weight before some medication I have to take I've taken a jump into the wonderful world of authentic Asian, Indian and other vegetable filled cuisines. I can't say I haven't enjoyed it, even as a firm lover of red meat and bacon.
It's always refreshing to step out of my foodie comfort zone. |
That's awesome Axenblade. What have you found that you enjoy the most.
|
Growing up I didn't like to eat a lot of meat save maybe for pepperoni, now I love most meat. Except for steak and if sausage is on pizza I won't eat it. I also LOVE seafood, mostly crab, crab legs, and lobster -- do not like fish or anything like muscles though. Shrimp, I'll eat every so often as long as they're already deveined.
For the crab, I won't eat them unless they're cooked in a water/beer/Old Bay mixture and have a big thing of Old Bay and butter sitting next to me. Alaskan Crab Legs are fine if they are boiled/cooked/whatever normally. |
My little cousin doesn't eat meat, and that is by her choice. When she was real little it was the texture of the meat she didn't like but now that she's older she's not eating it cause she knows it comes from animals. She is I believe seven... though I could be wrong on her age, but she is around that age.
